Enduring the Quiet - Jared/Jensen RPS
Because I have an illness and the boys are too hot. Below is some RPS (real person Slash) for Supernatural. So if you don't like RPF or slash, this is not the ficlet for you. Pass right on by and avoid telling me how awful I am for partaking in the RPF.

word # 129 - silence
It’s funny to Jensen how silent Jared gets before an emotional scene lately. Usually, Jared spends his time listening to loud music, singing along badly, and trying to beat Jensen on the basketball courts (something that has yet to happen, thankyouverymuch). Usually, Jared is the type of guy that is sheer force and about the moment and burning excess energy.
Now, these scenes that they shoot where the brothers are dealing with emotions...it changes Jared into some peapod version of himself, and Jensen can’t figure out why. Maybe it’s because the longer this goes on, the more people will wonder if the two of them think of the other like that – do you two feel like brothers – and, well, most brothers don’t enjoy sneaking into the other’s trailer and making out until there are bruises on the other’s lips. Jensen knows it's weirded him out from time to time, but he tries not to focus on that too much. He thinks about Jared as though he's someone Jensen's just met and couldn't get enough of. Male, female, whatever.
But it seems Jared is still too new to things - work, hooking up with other men, life in general - and Jensen knows it's affecting him. And that means it affecting both of them.
Instead of the usual hyperness that Jensen's grown fond of, it’s silence. Jensen doesn’t know what to make of that, how to feel when he’s surrounded by it. It’s why he became an actor for chrissakes, because silence is too much and he likes to fill every second with life – work, sports, fucking, whatever as long as it’s something.
“What’s up, man?” Jared asks, ducking his head in the door of Jensen’s trailer.
Now this is something he’s familiar with. It’s a routine by now.
Jensen drops the extra Playstation controller and says, “About to kick your ass at hockey.”
Jared rolls his eyes, but slips into the trailer and takes a seat in one fluid motion. He sits close to Jensen, so close that he can feel the heat coming off Jared’s skin and it takes all Jensen’s control to let the scene play out like it normally does. After all, he is a creature of habit – why go and muck things up when the outcome will be so enjoyable anyway?
After a few minutes of quiet as Jensen’s team kicks Jared’s ass across the virtual rink, Jared turns to face Jensen and says, “Sometimes I think I like the scenes with the bugs more than the other stuff.”
Jensen shrugs. Not sure what to say because, quite frankly, he could live without the bugs and the gore and the ongoing nightmares about the hookman eviscerating him. But it’s all in the job, so he deals with it. After all, there are plenty of perks to make up for it, and plenty of things that he does love.
Jared doesn’t seem to care that he doesn’t answer and continues, “It’s just…you and I get along really well.”
“That’s one word for it.”
Jared rolls his eyes again and says, “I’m serious. It’s like we fall into our characters’ roles off the screen too.”
Jensen stops playing and turns to meet Jared’s gaze. He reaches over, forcefully, not caring if his forehead slams into Jared’s or he pulls at his hair, and presses his lips against Jared’s. Not particularly romantic or even sexy, but it does the trick. Jared shifts his body until he’s on top of Jensen, increasing the pressure with each kiss.
Jensen pulls back for a minute and says, “Definitely not our characters.”
“I would hope not.”
“Is that what all the silent treatments have been about lately? Worried that—“
“—I don’t know what I’m worried about.”
Jensen nods. He doesn’t understand really, but he doesn't care. It doesn’t matter in the moment. All that matters is that Jared is there, running his tongue along his neck and collarbone, and that things feel…right. Like they have since the day they met and disappeared for drinks and a quickie in the back of a freaking Volvo. If enduring brooding and silence and whatever else the young actors of Hollywood are expected to feel is part of it, well, he’ll deal.
His hands move along Jared's body, enjoying the groans Jared makes with each stroke. He fixes his gaze on Jared's and knows that they both still want this as much as they did that first night. That whatever is going on in Jared's head, it doesn't seem to have changed the energy between them.
Jensen grins and says, "This is you and me. Not Dean and Sam." And that's all he has time to say before Jared's kissing him again.
