wednesdays should go faster than this...

Why is this day going so slowly? Why am I so tired and uninspired? Are they linked?

I just finished up season four of NCIS on Monday. I don't know why I was waiting so long to finish when I only had like three episodes left to go, but it's done. I'm caught up.

I loved Gibbs as the acting Director. Poor Cynthia!

So I figured Tony was undercover when he met his girlfriend and hence all the huge issues he was having. I even figured out that the Frog was probably related to her somehow considering that she didn't seem to have anything to do with that world...

But I got confused in the final episode when the Frog guy was on the plane and was talking about whether Tony would be upset if his girlfriend was hurt. would he really hurt his own daughter to get to Tony? I'm so confused.

I don't particularly care for the Jenny storyline and the final episode didn't really do much for me. But most of season four was sorta hit-or-miss for me. I still enjoyed it, but the first three seasons were much stronger. Here's to hoping season five is more cohesive.

Speaking of NCIS, the story I received for the [livejournal.com profile] apocalyptothon is NCIS. Woo-hoo. I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but I'm very excited about this.

Now that I'm done with NCIS, I'm planning to finally finish up season three of Veronica Mars. I'm not even sure why I fell so behind on VM except that I kept getting behind more and it seemed like a chore to catch up. So yes, VM is up next.

But first I have two episodes of Burn Notice and Eureka kicking it on my dvr.

Okay, off to attempt to be productive.

I am totally with you on S4 as a whole for NCIS. I still love the show, but wow did I dislike some of the episodes. I finally figured out that there was one writer who I just didn't like at all, and I could just go into the episodes knowing I was going to dislike them. That worked well until he ended up co-writing one of my favorites. *sigh*

I think the reason I actually liked the last episode was that it finally gave the answers I'd been wanting. I'd been sure that Tony was undercover, too, but I was really glad that there was payoff in the form of him being a 'professor' (and he wasn't even using his real last name, was he?) I think I'd just given up hoping that the answers would come. On the whole, though, I really didn't feel like that was a normal episode of NCIS. Way creepier, a lot less funny.

Yeah, I didn't hate any episodes to the point that I didn't even want to watch the whole thing, but some of them were just pointless and annoying.

And yeah, I guess it was good to finally get the payoff of knowing what was going on with Tony - though I guessed - but I just think it could've come earlier, ya know. Like that wasn't a storyline that needed to stretch ALL season.

My impression of the Tony - Jeanne - Frog thing was that the guy who did the surveillance and was telling Le Frog that Tony wouldn't care if she died, etc, had no idea he was talking about Le Frog's own daughter, and Le Frog did that deliberately.

My heart seized when I saw them all in that limo together, though. My confusion was as follows:

~ So, Tony obviously really loves Jeanne, and yes, he fell in love w/her while working undercover, but is that undercover assignment ongoing, as in was it all to get closer to Le Frog??

~ Indeed, is Le Frog capable of killing his own daughter, or is he more concerned about whether or not his daughter's new boyfriend is going to treat her right?

~ Who is being set up, Tony or Le Frog??

It will definitely be interesting to see where this goes. Hopefully, there is some explanation and pay off in store for us.

Does Jenny know that Tony is still dating/in love with the girl - was that part of the whole thing? Still confusion.

The fourth season was very hit and miss for me. I liked Jenny at the beginning of the season but not her storyline by the end. The finale was disappointing as I'd already figured out the big reveal.

It doesn't help that after watching how well Supernatural can do plot arcs, I kept thinking NCIS could take lessons from them while watching the finale. I just felt most of the season could have been tighter and the cliffhanger done midway through the season.

I'm also hoping season five will be much better and with more Tony/Gibbs sub text.

I think that's part of the reason I didn't particularly care about Tony's love interest - because I love Tony/Gibbs...and while I know I won't get that on the show, NCIS is also the type that doesn't need to have love interests per se.
