the pain will ease if I can learn...
I saw Rent again today. My mother was so cute. After it was over, she said to me and my sister, "I need a copy of the cast recording - I didn't realize how much I missed not hearing it all the time from the two of you." (Because yeah, my sister and I went through about four copies of the OBC cast recording from its release and through the years.)
Anyway, earlier review stands, though Rosario grew on me as Mimi a little bit more. I still can't take Adam's hair. I just...it's not the Roger hair and I miss the Roger hair...and I've seen it all from the man. I remember when he dyed it blue (looked hot), when he dyed it a dark brown (eh...it was okay)...when he shaved it (Might not have been so bad if he hadn't kept running his hands over his head going, "I have no hair." ), and then the long, poofy hair of the movie. And the long is the *worst* on him, especially at the end. Worst camera angles ever known to man.
Jesse and Wilson still kick ass.

I've spent most of my weekend reading Supernatural fic and books. So much for getting a whole lot of writing done. I just have no motivation at the moment. It's like my mind has decided that holiday weekend and off from work means time off for tommy's brain. However, I will have to be prepared tomorrow to write at least 100 words as the Secret Santa Drabble Project begins.

I was insane yesterday with the sister - we went shopping at FIVE AM. And it was packed at Best Buy, though we did get some good sales. However, we felt a bit bad since she and I spent more on ourselves than on people we have to buy gifts for. I mean, we got my friend's birthday gifts (both seasons of Arrested Development for 30 bucks) and some of my mother's stuff...but everything else? For us. The sissy picked up the new matrix video game and I got a portable dvd player for sixty bucks! It was a fun time - with an hour in line.
And the opposite of Best Buy was Target at 7am. Dude, that place was empty, and they had a bunch of great deals, like board games for 4 bucks. I was able to get my Toys for Tots stuff taken care of without spending a bloody fortune! And some stuff for my little bit, because she's six and her Christmas list is like five pages long. Heh.

Okay, I'm going to read some more fic and then sleep until I have to get up and meet with friends.
I realize I haven't posted anything about this past week's Supernatural, but so many of you conveyed it so much better than I could. All I can say is "Damn you, haitus!"
And on that note, I bid you all adieu for the evening.
Ciao.

So, I spent $200 on myself. I'm so awful! But 1st season of Lost is a present with the money from my grandparents. And it was more pleasant watching it on my new surround sound system (yes, I bought the cheap ass one they were selling) but what's irritating me is that the first time I set it up it sounded great. Then there was a whole problem with it not fitting in the entertainment center, so I had to move it and now it hums. Which is annoying and I have to work on that tomorrow.
I also have had two fantastic bags of popcorn from the new $30 microwave.
Oh lord, I've become incredibly ghetto!

Like I almost bought my work pollyanna a 20 dollar dvd player since they had them and I was there in that line. Heh.
(And I almost bought hte sound system too, but the sister and I decided to be good and instead bought more games for our Playstation. heh...er...I mean *gifts* for *others*)
Speaking of gifts - have you done a christmas wishlist thing? If so, hook me up with link - there are certain people I want to try to do stories for aside from the 12 Fandom Days of Christmas. Hee.
who can say?
it was literally the very first time i've ever seen a show without knowing ALL of the songs first and knowing exactly what i was in for...and...AWESOME. oh holy crap. i mean. i've got "i'm not that girl" and "for good" on basically constant repeat right now. SO good. i'm just...blown away.
and am once again so very very jealous of you people that get to see these things beFORE they go all mainstream and win tonys and whatnot. gaaaaaaah where is the culllllllllllllture i'm dyyyyyyying...
Re: who can say?
And yay for Wicked! Isn't it awesome? I have to admit, that when I went the first time, I was going simply because it was Idina and Kristen in the roles. But I loved it. And loved the music, even "Dancing Through Life" (though I pretend the line "let the green girl go" never occurred)
And yes, NYC culture is one of the benefits of being a Jersey girl. Though over the past few years the cost of tickets has gone up too much, dammit. And I'm a broke girl with rent to pay. Cry for me, argentina.
Oh, and
Secret Santa #1
(Anonymous) 2005-11-27 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)“You. Ruined. My. Car.” Dean seethed at his younger brother, clenching his hands into fists. He was visibly struggling not to lash out and pummel Sam. “You stupid ass.”
Sam held his hands up in defense. “How in the hell was I supposed to know that was going to happen?”
“Says the fancy ass college boy.” Dean rolled his eyes. “Dude, I thought you were supposed to be smart.”
“I am smart! It’s just…you know, sometimes things happen.”
“No, Sammy boy. Things do not just happen. Not to my car.”
“It can be fixed, you know. I’ll even pay for it. It’s an easy repair.”
“Easy? Oh it’s anything but easy. I’m not gonna let any Tom, Dick, or Harry touch my baby. The only person I trust to work in this car is currently about, oh, 500 miles away. Not to mention the fact that this car is a classic. You can’t just pick up replacement pieces at Wal-Mart. It’s going to take more time and money to get this fixed than currently you or I have. Which means, until we clean all the crazy ass cases off of our list of stuff to do, I’m stuck with a compromised car.”
“I said I’m sorry. I’ve said that I’ll pay for the repairs.” Sam sighed. “What else can I do?”
“I honestly don’t know.” Dean growled. “I’ll figure something out. Just shut up and leave me alone for awhile.” He turned the keys in the ignition.
The sounds of cheerful Christmas music filled the air, courtesy of Sam’s Christmas mix cassette tape, currently stuck in the stereo. It was jammed in the player, making it impossible to get out or change to the radio. Until they could have the radio fixed, it would be Christmas Music 24/7.
And Dean had never been fond of Christmas Music.
Re: Secret Santa #1
Poor Dean, forced to listen to Christmas music on repeat!
It's great and wonderful...and the banter between the brothers.
THank you so much, Santa! This rocked!
