I saw Rent again today. My mother was so cute. After it was over, she said to me and my sister, "I need a copy of the cast recording - I didn't realize how much I missed not hearing it all the time from the two of you." (Because yeah, my sister and I went through about four copies of the OBC cast recording from its release and through the years.)

Anyway, earlier review stands, though Rosario grew on me as Mimi a little bit more. I still can't take Adam's hair. I just...it's not the Roger hair and I miss the Roger hair...and I've seen it all from the man. I remember when he dyed it blue (looked hot), when he dyed it a dark brown (eh...it was okay)...when he shaved it (Might not have been so bad if he hadn't kept running his hands over his head going, "I have no hair." ), and then the long, poofy hair of the movie. And the long is the *worst* on him, especially at the end. Worst camera angles ever known to man.

Jesse and Wilson still kick ass.

I've spent most of my weekend reading Supernatural fic and books. So much for getting a whole lot of writing done. I just have no motivation at the moment. It's like my mind has decided that holiday weekend and off from work means time off for tommy's brain. However, I will have to be prepared tomorrow to write at least 100 words as the Secret Santa Drabble Project begins.

I was insane yesterday with the sister - we went shopping at FIVE AM. And it was packed at Best Buy, though we did get some good sales. However, we felt a bit bad since she and I spent more on ourselves than on people we have to buy gifts for. I mean, we got my friend's birthday gifts (both seasons of Arrested Development for 30 bucks) and some of my mother's stuff...but everything else? For us. The sissy picked up the new matrix video game and I got a portable dvd player for sixty bucks! It was a fun time - with an hour in line.

And the opposite of Best Buy was Target at 7am. Dude, that place was empty, and they had a bunch of great deals, like board games for 4 bucks. I was able to get my Toys for Tots stuff taken care of without spending a bloody fortune! And some stuff for my little bit, because she's six and her Christmas list is like five pages long. Heh.

Okay, I'm going to read some more fic and then sleep until I have to get up and meet with friends.

I realize I haven't posted anything about this past week's Supernatural, but so many of you conveyed it so much better than I could. All I can say is "Damn you, haitus!"

And on that note, I bid you all adieu for the evening.

Ciao.

Yes, it's very long. And it contains spoilers throughout the movie, in case you've never seen the show and/or movie.

And realize this comes from a girl who was obsessed with the OBC when it was on broadway...I was a renthead, one of those who did the lines, and then the lottos, and got to know everyone...OBSESSED! )

So that's one viewing down and about twenty more to go!

So what did y'all think?

Have returned from viewing rent with my fellow OBC rentheads...will post about it tomorrow. Not a bad job, but there were parts that made me laugh and really, Adam's hair needs to go.

But tomorrow I will review because I'm too tired right now.

Can I tell you how excited I am for the rent movie? In the early days, I was scared because they hadn't cast my obc, but now - now not even my dislike of Rosario Dawson could ruin this movie. And surprisingly, she's not too bad as Mimi (no Daphne, not even a Yasmin, but good enough).

[livejournal.com profile] ladybug218 and I keep exchanging emails today about it and it's only making me more and more excited. How many days left?

My only fear? Getting sucked back into that obsessive Rent place that held my heart from it's opening until Ant left the show. Can I tell you how hard that show was? First off, the audience was mostly comprised of the Rentheads and the other OBC who had already left (Ant was the last to leave) and it just...there was much crying and a feeling of such loss.

And now we get it back, sorta. We get Ant as Marc and Adam in the Roger pants (though without the Roger hair - where the hell is the Roger hair?) And I hope Adam does his Roger knee bends. Hee. This could only rekindle the obsession...

Seriously, I hardly decorate my apartment, but I have a signed rent poster by the OBC and a signed "the three Marcs of Rent" poster signed by Anthony Rapp, Neil Patrick Harris, and Luthor (eep - I forget his name...he went on to play Roger on Broadway, but he started as Marc in Boston...). Telling you that is to prove how obsessed I was. Further proof? My mother is actually excited about it because she misses hearing me and my sister playing the music/watching stuff with the actors, going to see the play all the time.

Oh, Lordy, please let it be good. let me forgive adam for the bad hair (can't be worse than the shaved head, can't be worse than the shaved head) and let me overlook that Freddy and Daphne aren't in it.

::pulls out all her bootleg videos and interviews and clips::

Gah.

No really. Even before there was Nsync, though that's my first internet fandom, there was the OBC Rent. You don't want to know how many times I saw it - I came to know the cast and crew and a lot of the people in the line (the line days - long before the lotto!).

Double gah.

I'm so excited. Rent brought so many cool people into my life that I consider very dear friends (some of whom I'm going to see the movie with - to properly "moo with me" and clap and do all the stuff one should with Rent).

**

So, if come the week of November 23rd I revert to talk of nothing but Rent, consider yourself warned. Hee.

In the meantime, I'll settle for excitement at new Supernatural - one week of reruns was so sad, imagine what I'll be like during the spring WB haitus thing. Although, I don't do well with bugs of any kind. It's a memory that involved Girl Scout Camp and a gypsy moth catepillar infestation...and now I just can't even see a picture of a bug without running away screaming.

So yeah, that will make tonight's episode interesting...

But I gotta. Can't miss out on the brotherly bonding and snarking and fighting evil supernatural things.

Jersey people - don't forget to vote for Corzine! (I'm not even trying to avoid my bias here). Everywhere else, don't forget to vote either. But really Jersey, I'll cry way too much if we elect that crazy lunatic, Forrester, as governor.

If you haven't already, be sure to fill out 12 Fandom Days of Christmas Poll to determine what fandoms I'll be writing for and what prompts I'll be filling and maybe even what characters. So yes, I can't do the cards/drabbles this month, so this is to make up for that. So please fill out the poll if you haven't.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn does so much for fandom, and she's running [livejournal.com profile] undermistletoe again, but this year for both Smallville and SGA. She needs people for SGA! I know we can do it, friends list, so go sign up! Don't we all want lots of fic to read throughout December?

Finally, [livejournal.com profile] l_vera01 is finally posting the early chapters of her ongoing Smallville, Clark/Lex A/U WIP. It's called "Destiny's Journey" and it's addictive with angst and fluff and original characters. I love it a lot, and not just because I'm betaing (really do need to beta chapter eight soon) So go check it out - chapter one and chapter 2

**

Okay, off to do some writing and reading (I'm so behind on my fanfiction reading because of last week) and beta work.

Have a good day!
