here comes revision woes...
Jul. 22nd, 2004 11:28 amFirst draft of new novel is complete. Despite much procrastination on my part the last two nights, I managed to churn out the ending. Needs much work, but also managed to overcome my need to edit-like-mad-every-three-sentences and worry about polishing/fixing/fine-tuning in the next two drafts.
Now comes the hard part. I hate revising. Worse...I hate my editor revising because then, you know, I'm forced to explain all my genius that he simply doesn't get. Okay, not really. It's a lot of: this contradicts your theme, why would this character do this, and could you stop making all the men in your stories gay?
Oh well.
Step 1...complete.
Step 2...coming soon.

Still have a few ficathon pieces to finish and my Choose Your Own Adventure piece. It seems that throughout the month when typing/writing were problems for me (still are at times with the wrists, but not as bad as before) the writing has piled up on me, taking over my desk at home.
My joan of arcadia ficathon story is under way already--at this point it's a lot of dialogue and I need to give it some prose/plot. Hopefully, it will be enjoyable. Lukily, the girl asked for something that I quite enjoy writing. Because sometimes, it's luck of the draw with ficathons and you could end up struggling for air.
Also have to begin my Remus Remix piece. I've read the blurb several times and have a good idea in my head for what to write and how to form it. Now, I simply have to do it. The problem I'm having is...new fandom pairing. I've only dabbled in writing Harry Potter in the past (usually not posting it) and I've never written Remus before. But I wanted to try it...however, little bit worried about doing it justice at the moment.

I saw this in a few different journals and why the heck not??
Leave a comment with a drabble request, pairing or character-based. Give me one line of dialogue to be written in a drabble/ficlet (100-500 words). After you comment, put this meme in your own journal.
Fandoms I'm Familiar With: Joan of Arcadia, Charmed, Pop, LOTRrp, Gilmore Girls, OC, One Tree Hill, Roswell, Harry Potter, Alias, Sports Night, and West Wing.
So c'mon. I'm looking for ways to further avoid working on things.

Despite much love for Will Ferrell and his comedic genius, did not like Anchorman. It had a few funny moments, but overall it was stupid and boring and...waste of my movie going dollars.
Tomorrow though...Matt Damon fun. I'm partial to him and his Bourne characters after the first movie because of the talk back with him I got to go to and how very nice he was to me--and how wonderful he smelled when we hugged. (One of those great things about working part time for my city's film office-occasionally there are perks!)
Not much else to report. Find myself constantly watching my Sports Night dvds. I take a break now and then to watch Farscape, but that's about it. It's an illness. An illness I call love of Dan.
Ciao.
