tommygirl: (heroes - nathan & peter)
Last night was the two hour premiere of Heroes, and thank lordy my show is back and seems to have continued in the much better category of the last few episodes of season two (since most of season two was not that impressive to me).

Spoilers ahoy for Heroes... )

**

Not much else to report. Yesterday, my sinuses were killing me and work was crazy, so when I got home, I vegged out.
tommygirl: (heroes - sylar)
Before I begin my television chat, I just wanted to state that I set my journal to Adult Concepts. I'm sorry if this causes any problems, but I decided it was the easiest way to go about things. If there is an easier way to go about things, let me know.

I meant to do this yesterday, but time got a way from me. Lots of errands and things I'd been avoiding - laundry, as always - but I did manage to get caught up on Dirty Sexy Money in time for the new episode tonight.

Spoilers for the last two episodes of DSM... )

**

But Monday night recaps are a day late...

First there was Chuck... )

While on the subject of Chuck, be sure to check out Write More: The Chuck Fic Challenge.

And then go read the Ellie & Captain Awesome fic by [livejournal.com profile] misspamela. It's so adorable! I love it.

Now...that other Monday night show...

I might be shooting Tim Kring with rocksalt soon...major SPOILERS AHOY! )

**

I'm off to attempt to catch up on friends list as I haven't checked it since Monday after Heroes. Hopefully, it won't involve skip=one billion or anything.
tommygirl: (heroes - petrelli brothers)
More coherent reviews of my shows will come tomorrow. In the meantime, regarding heroes MAJOR SPOILERS!!! )

**

I have an idea for my [livejournal.com profile] undermistletoe story! Woo-hoo! I was beginning to panic as it's due on December 10th. And then today I wrote more in my Dean as a Whitelighter world. why am I always working on things that aren't due in the near future? what's wrong with my brain?
tommygirl: (dexter - play nice)
Today is not such a great day, but rather than focus on that, I shall think about last night's television. And that made me quite happy. As did the news that Chuck was picked up for a full season (so c'mon! Give the writers what they deserve!).

Chuck versus his nemesis...SPOILERS... )

And Heroes...Spoilers... )

**

I'm doing a holiday drabble-a-day throughout December, so go sign up in this post.
tommygirl: (heroes - nathan & peter)
Can those evil, greedy studios please just give the writers what they deserve already? I'd really love it if I could keep Chuck and even Heroes (as it is steadily improving).

First there was Chuck and my mad love for him... )

Without spoilers: There needs to be Chuck/Bryce fic. I think I found my slash for this fandom after all. But I still want Ellie/Captain Awesome more. C'mon people, write me some Ellie/Captain Awesome schmoop! I would totally become your slave!

After Chuck, came Heroes...SPOILERS AHOY!!! )

**

I guess I should go do some work and then maybe write a bit.

Ciao darlings!
tommygirl: (heroes - nathan & peter)
My mood has improved a great deal between yesterday and today. The lovely pictures of Jared helped muchly. That boy. Love him.

Good television also helped.

Chuck and Stanford...spoilers for the episode... )

And guess what? After Chuck, my good-television-viewing high was not ruined! Heroes this week was good.

This week's Heroes, which I liked and feel like it's getting back on track...SPOILERS!!! )

I'm also caught up on last week's Dirty Sexy Money. I love Brian. He rocks. I'm loving how all of this is playing out and I feel a lot like Nick, not sure who to trust or take a chance on. All I know is the show makes me happy and the characters crack me up.
tommygirl: (storydivagirl)
So it's been a whole month and now I am once again battling the sinus plague. I planned to go into work a few hours late, but still felt like death and unable to breathe, so I decided to stay home all day. Slept a lot, watched more episodes of Numb3rs, and then my sister and I watched 28 Weeks Later. It was okay, but nowhere near as good as the first one.

**

Happiest of birthdays to [livejournal.com profile] wendy! You are a bright light in fandom and I'm so glad that I was able to meet you (and hug you in person) at wincon this year. ::lots of huggles::

**

Mini-Nano starts on Thursday and I'm aiming for 500 words a day, which is completely doable for me. My main problem is not lack of words, but rather getting started/procrastinating. So I'm hoping that I can use mini-nano to get my ass in gear and finish some of the numerous projects I have kicking it in my brain and half-started on my computer.

**

I'm thinking of writing my own Ellie/Captain Awesome fic. I can't decide if I want to focus on how they got together or just domestic schmoop of some sort. Have they said anything during the episodes on how those two met?

**

Speaking of Chuck, let's talk last night's episode and how this show continues to own me. spoilers for last night's episode... ) This show is seriously one of my happy moments during the week. Nothing comes close to my Supernatural love and there are a few other really good shows out there, but Chuck is so good.

I'm not even going to bother with an in-depth on Heroes because West continues to annoy me and I hate how Claire behaves around him. And it's just taking too long to get to anything interesting. It's one thing to need a few episodes to put a few pieces into place - like at the beginning of the first season - but this is taking too long. And frankly, I don't really care about anything that isn't Matt/Mohinder.
tommygirl: (heroes - sylar)
Next to Thursday Nights from 9pm-10pm, Monday night television on NBC is quickly becoming my favorite thing. Well, from 8pm-10pm anyhow. I'm still not all that impressed with Journeymen.

We begin with Chuck & the Tango... )

And next was Heroes, which I enjoyed, but right now it's not as good as it was last year.

Heroes - Kindred... )

**

Still have a bunch of stuff on my dvr to watch at some point. I'm almost done Ken Burn's The War, in the middle of the last part, so hopefully that will free up some extra time. I still have this week's Brothers & Sisters and Dexter to watch.

Have started getting caught up on season three of Weeds too. This show cracks me up.
tommygirl: (heroes - petrelli brothers)
Sports Nights friends:

Don't forget to sign up for [livejournal.com profile] sn_holidays! Only one person has signed up yet and this makes me sad.

Love,

Tommygirl

**

NBC Monday Night television may be my new favorite thing. Well, the first two hours. Last week's pilot of Journeyman was only okay, so I haven't watched the second episode yet.

We will begin with Chuck... )

And after Chuck is Heroes... )

**

I'm hoping to get some writing done this afternoon, but i'm so far behind on my friends list and I feel terrible. I hope to rectify that situation first. Then write like a fiend. Or at least someone capable of getting words onto paper.
tommygirl: (heroes - nathan & peter)
Battling bronchitis. Seems the sinus infection never went away and became bronchitis. Great stuff. I'm having so much fun with it.

The brightside is...

Heroes is back, my friends!

Spoilers for season two premiere... )

I watched Gossip Girl. It was okay. Stuck to the book a whole lot for the pilot so I knew what was going on, but I'm not sure it's anything that I need to see. I have a feeling it could get old rather fast.

Also caught Journeyman. It's just really odd and I'm not sure I understand what's going on. I don't do well with shows that confuse me from the get go.

I had already seen the Chuck pilot so I chose Prison Break this week. Next week though, PB will get downloaded. I feel sorta bad about this because it's not doing so well this season so far, but Chuck was an awesome pilot and I can't wait to see how it plays out.

**

I'm going to attempt to catch up on friends list now as I haven't read it since Saturday. Stupid sickness. I've honestly slept most of the past three days away. I've been up long enough to shower, eat, and visit the doctor. Good times. I'm living la vida loca.
tommygirl: (heroes - nathan & peter)
I've been home sick the past two days with the sinus infection from hell. Argh. Sometimes I think I should have that sinus surgery for long term relief, but I'm just not sure. Bah.

I have used some of this time resting to get my sister hooked on season one of Dexter (Oh that season finale kills me dead), and trying to get caught up on some of the stuff kicking it on my tivo.

The Heroes finale... )

I'm almost caught up on Brothers & Sisters too, only have the finale left, but I sorta don't want to finish it because then we have to wait a whole season for more. But gah, the last one killed me dead and oh Tommy, I love you...and I just love the Walker family in all their insanity.

**

I'm being overrun by plot bunnies of doom and Steph is only encouraging this stuff. I say to her, "Stop me! Slap some sense into me! I want to genderbend Eric from Entourage!" And she responds, "That's awesome! Do it!" That was not how the conversation was supposed to go.

Then I have a question about What Is and Never Should Be: How long was Dean with the Djinn? How long was Sam looking for him? Do we know? I ask because I may be writing a story from Sam's POV for that time.

Then there is this story idea I had for Dean where he wakes up in all these alternate realities and he has to find his way out, only to end up in yet another one.

Oh, where do these weird, cracked out ideas come from? Oh yes, it's me, in the shower, suddenly getting the image of Dean Winchester in cuffed jeans and a bedazzled teeshirt as a member of a boyband and replying, "Son of a bitch."
tommygirl: (heroes - nathan & peter)
Here's to hoping Tuesday goes fast. I'm so sleepy. It's a weird thing. On days when I have to be at the gym, I have no trouble getting out of bed (most of the time) at the crack of dawn. But on days like today when i just get up for work later, oh the pain of getting up.

Let's now talk about how Heroes made my brain explode... )

I'm pretty sure by next week, after both the Supernatural and Heroes finales, that I will be almost catatonic, my friends. Good lordy.

Speaking of Supernatural finale, [livejournal.com profile] ladybug218 informed me that I will be doing another finale Choose Your Own Adventure fic like I did with the Devil's Trap Choose Your Own Adventure. I'm sure [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy will be happy to hear that since she did all the amazing beta work on that huge project. hee.

**

Alrighty, friends. Feel free to visit my last post and give me a bunch of prompts. I need to try to get my writing mojo back to working.
tommygirl: (heroes - claire (smile))
I know we need plants and bees and pollen, but my allergies are killing me, man. KILLING ME. I think someone needs to send me Dean Winchester immediately! Sure, he might not be able to cure my problems, but he could distract me.

**

My sister and I continue our nerdy nature of watching anything and everything on the History channel. We watched the first half of this two hour special on Sherman's march through Georgia.

But we had to stop because it was time for Heroes and we all have priorities. In a contest of history versus Nathan Petrelli, Nathan wins.

Spoilers & thoughts for last night's episode... )

**

I must warn that there may be spaming of my journal from me today. I'm pretty damn bored at work. That said, I'm also behind on journal reading/fic reading/etc...so depending on my mood, I apologize ahead of time.

Ciao darlings!
tommygirl: (supernatural - dean (tommygirl))
Days are moving so fast and I can barely keep up. I'm trying to get caught up on fandom stuff, but y'all are a prolific bunch. And really, if real life could stop happening for a few weeks/months/years, that would be lovely. It's time for me to get a fellowship that allows me to sit home and immerse myself in fandom.

If/when I ever win a huge ass lottery, this will be one of the things I set up - the fandom fellowship. Right after I get my green, energy-efficient house built from scratch and have set my mother up somewhere on her own.

**

I had hoped to read/write/rec this past weekend, but I ended up not being on the computer a whole lot. I did manage to do the [livejournal.com profile] het_newsletter for Sunday though. One thing accomplished.

Speaking of, we're still looking for editors for Saturday and I'm more than willing to give up either Tuesday or Sunday to someone who wants to participate! Really!

**

Many challenges are going on, but I'm trying to keep myself from going crazy. Lately I've just been really behind on all things fandom, so I'm not sure it's the best time for me to sign up to write a bunch of things. But some of them are truly tempting...

Must. Stop. Self.

**

New Heroes tonight! I can't wait! I hope they give us some more Peter and Nathan to make up for last week's upsetting (yet awesomely good) stuff.
tommygirl: (dexter - brothers)
I'm not sure that I am still able to be coherent about Heroes last night, but I will give it a try.

Many spoilers for last night's episode... )

**

The Tuesday Ten

1. What music are you currently listening to? Well, today at lunch I will pick up the new Michael Buble, but in the meantime, I've been obsessed with Robin Thicke.

2. What was the first concert you ever went to? Tiffany/New Kids on the Block

3. Do you mostly buy your music, or “borrow” music? Mostly buy. I will "borrow" a few songs from new artists to see if I like it and then I buy it if I do.

4. First music you bought yourself? I bought myself Michael Jackson's thriller on tape with some of my birthday money.

5. Dream concert playlist (lets say … 3 artists) would be? Do they have to be alive? Because dream concert would be: Doors, Beatles (all four), and Janis Joplin...of living/current artists - Ani Difranco, Bruce Springsteen, Matchbox Twenty

6. Favourite alcoholic beverage? I love mudslides and amaretto sours

7. Do you drink silly frothy flavoured coffees? Nope, I don't like coffee.

8. Fave chocolate bar? Hersheys...though I prefer Peppermint Patties

9. Fave meal? pizza

10. Fave type of restaurant? Italian/Pizza places

Last night I had a dream about Dexter, based off the information from the season finale. But it was upsetting and gross at points so I woke up part upset and part wanting to watch the series over again. I'll have to do that soon, though I'm still behind on many other shows so not sure when that will happen. But my subconscious misses my favorite serial killer.

what a very weird thing to say.
tommygirl: (heroes - nathan & peter)
Do you ever feel like life is moving so fast and you're trying your best to keep up, but end up flailing about instead? That's currently the mode I'm in. Last week was a blur and I really can't say where the time went. The only thing I remember is the evil colonoscopy and that's just impossible to forget - mostly because the prep work is god awful.

Luckily for you guys, I do remember last night's Heroes quite well because it was an hour of awesome.

Spoilers for last night's episodes... )

I'm hoping to do remix recs over at [livejournal.com profile] polyfandomrecs in the next couple of days. The story written for me was great. I loved it. And the person I wrote for seems to have liked the remix that I did. Now there are just tons of great stories for reading.

**

Het Summer Prompt-A-Thon is taking prompts until April 29th. It's multifandom and even if you're not going to participate, you can offer up prompts. I went back and added some for the Twilight book series as well as a few other things. Come join me in the fun.
tommygirl: (heroes - nathan & peter)
A real post will follow a little later when I have some time, but for now, let's get right to my thoughts on last night's Heroes.

There will be spoilers! )

**

Real post to follow in a bit...now I want to read others' reactions to last night's episode. Tonight when I get home I'll see Black Donnellys and 24! Monday night is too chock full of good stuff!
tommygirl: (black donnellys - the family)
I don't think I've mentioned lately how much I hate my DirecTV dvr. It's the fucking devil. I miss my TIVO. stupid Terry's house broke it and since she owes me about a million dollars, I doubt I'll ever get reimbursed for that.

But it cut off like the last FIVE minutes of Heroes. I saw up to Heroes spoilers... )

BLANK SCREEN.

Fucking DVR.

I'm downloading it, of course, but it's such a pain.

Aside from that...let's focus on all that I did get to see.

Spoilers for the latest episode of Heroes... )

On third viewing, The Black Donnellys continues to be awesome and I completely love Tommy and the role he plays as protector of his brothers, even when he wants to kill them. I'm sure I'll love the other brothers too, but they aren't nearly as developed in the pilot as Tommy is...so he makes the show for me at this point.

**

Not much else to report at the moment. I'm trying to get back on fandom track, but I'm way behind on most everything. Bear with me a bit longer.

Ciao darlings.
tommygirl: (charmed - brothers1)
Dear God, it should be illegal that I had to be out of my house by 6:10am today to get to the gym. Seriously. It doesn't help that my trainer is evil. Hot, but evil. And so now I'm hobbling around my office all sad like.

And really, MSNBC can start covering actual news any time they want. I'm about at the point where I'm gonna throw the television across the gym floor if I see anymore on Anna Nicole Smith or Britney's shaved head. There is actual news going on. Let's talk about how Senator John McCain is turning into a hypocritical dick. I mean, he's Republican so there have always been things I disagreed with the man on, but overall, I respected him. He served his country. He didn't give into the whims of the christian right.

But now he's just. He's hired the guy who basically called him insane when he was in the primaries against Bush. He's totally become the White House's bitch because he wants the nomination. And now he's showing up at Abstinence Only rallies and swearing to overturn Roe vs. Wade when he used to be quite moderate in that area.

What a huge dick.

**

Let's focus on happier things. Television. Heroes won out again last night because I hold out hope that I will once again have Peter/Nathan touching.

My feelings on the episode...spoilers ahoy... )

I also got caught up on Brothers & Sisters yesterday. I seriously love this show and I can never really explain why. I suffer mocking at the hands of my sister and friends for loving it, but it's good stuff. And there are cute boys. The only real downside is Rob Lowe plays a Republican Senator. He will always be Sam Seaborne, the democrat, to me. I just truly love the family dynamics at work on this show, and I'm totally a sucker for the sibling relationship so this just...so good.

**

I know there was already a community set up as a multifandom ongoing challenge for "What If", but it never seemed to get off the ground. So I was thinking of starting my own one up...with bi-weekly what if challenges that would be answered with drabbles/ficlets/stories.

Like "What if you knew you were going to die in twenty-four hours, what would you do?" And then you answer it for a character.

I have all the What If? books so I would have the prompts easily available.

Anyone interested?

**

Alrighty, I'm behind on the friends list, so I'm off to attempt to catch up.

Ciao darlings!
tommygirl: (Default)
It's Tuesday and it's snowing. Fun times.

So I was wrong last night. I ended up watching The Class and Heroes.

Dude, the Class was funny last night. I've always been a Kat/Ethan girl, but I'm really loving the addition of Kyle to them. The three of them together are so much fun.

And right to Heroes...

I love this show, and I really love Nathan... )

**

And now, I took part in the Interview Meme that was going around.

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better. If I already know you well, expect the questions may be a little more intimate!
3. You will update your lj with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

Below are 4 sets of interview questions from people... )

Please let us get to leave early. Please let us get to leave early. I want a snow day!
