tommygirl: (american idol - flyboys)
So a few weeks ago, my partner in crime, [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy asked me questions for the interview meme. My head is killing me and I'm bored, so I shall answer.

1. Really, though, how am I so amazing? You always take the amazing pills that I send you like a good girl.

2. If you had to get a tattoo, where would it be and what would it look like? I'd get masks of comedy & drama...very small...and I guess on my ankle? I really have no interest in any tattoos because they involve needles.

3. What are you reading right now? (Besides J2 porn, dirty girl.) Actual books? I just started Moyers on Democracy by Bill Moyers, which is a collection of speeches/editorials he made over recent years. In fanfiction, I"m currently reading a lot of IronMan fic and maybe David Cook RPS. er...

4. Who are your five ultimate OTPs?

Buffy/Angel, BtVS; Maria/Michael, Roswell; Sam/Dean, Supernatural; Mohinder/Matt, Heroes; Tony/Pepper, Iron Man

**This was pretty hard because I really don't have many OTPs for most fandoms...For example, for Alias, I love Sydney with a bunch of people, depending on the writer. So the above were the ones where I tend not to like them with anyone else (though it depends on the day and my mood!)

5. What is your dream vacation spot? I would love to rent a house in Maine for a month during the summer that was right on the beach...and just spend time on the beach, reading and being lazy.

6. What is the best concert you've ever been to? Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. I've seen him a few times and he's just amazing.
tommygirl: (black donnellys - tommy & kevin)
Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] deirdre_c!!!

I hope your day is filled with wonderful things! I'm so grateful that fandom has brought you into my life, darling!

**

So while I can't afford to support anyone during the Blogathon and have no time (or energy, if I was honest) to dedicate to the project myself, I have offered up my services to [livejournal.com profile] seimaisin. When you donate money to her cause, she enters you in a raffle to win various goodies, one of which is my story services.

Also, I'd suggest checking out [livejournal.com profile] blogathonlj to see the various charities/ideas people are following for the day.

I believe this is the last of the interview questions:

Okay, we leave for our work summer outing in a half hour. I guess I should attempt to get some work done before we leave.

I saw the new Harry Potter movie today. Highly enjoyable. May discuss more later, but for now, I just enjoyed it.

Supernatural Friday Five - the last two weeks... )

**

Some questions from the awesome [livejournal.com profile] vinylroad:

1. If you were to have a child (haha! I'm not saying you're GOING to, but if you did!), what would you name him/her and why? Give a name or two for both sexes.

So the boy and I have had these conversations from time to time, which usually end with my saying something like, "If I have to have the thing, I think I get the right to name it whatever the hell I want" and him using words like "irrational" and "maybe we shouldn't talk kids until you stop referring to them as things" - that said, I love the name Nicholas. If I had a girl, it would be Emma or Alexis.

2. When was the first time you fell in love? What happened? Are you in love now?

Real love was probably not until college. We met at a mock United Nations competition at Yale. Looking back, we were completely wrong for each other, but his West Point Uniform tended to make me forget that. It did not end well though. We were going in different directions with our lives and as the boy now likes to say, he was a complete lunatic.

In love now? sureyeahuh-huh except when he says i'm irrational or he's snoring really loud

3. What is your favourite book/movie/song and why?

The Outsiders and Pride & Prejudice are my favorite books of all time. I read them both for the first time when I was young and they just showed me all the things that a writer could be capable of getting across with a bunch of words. And I'm pretty sure SE Hinton is responsible for my brother kink though I probably didn't realize it at 10.

Movie will always be Say Anything. It's just wonderful, even if it broke me for most real boys.

Song is "Wonderful World" - I have about ten different covers of that song and I love it. It's just a beautiful song.

4. If you were President of the United States, what would you do FIRST?

After I had a good cry because something went horribly awry? I've never wanted to be president. I was always the little kid who wanted to be a Supreme Court justice because they had the real power. First thing I would do is work on getting everyone some sort of health care.

5. What is the one thing you regret the most? If you had the chance, would you go back and change it?

I'm never really good with these things. There are things I regret, but at the same time, they were all learning experiences that made me who I am today. But yeah, I've hurt people with some nasty words and I do regret that.

My sinus headache has still NOT gone away. I wanted to write tonight, but I'm not really a "push past the pain" sort of girl. Instead I might re-read some of my favorite sam/dean stories.

Hope everyone is having a good day.
tommygirl: (fandom is funny)
Can anyone explain to me why sinuses are so important? Because I'm so very close to just stabbing them out with a fork. I bet it would hurt less than this never ending pain.

And yes, I'm a huge baby. This is why I can never get pregnant, people. I don't do well with pain.

I got up early due to head pain, but I was gonna suck it up. So I got ready for work with time to chat on AIM with [livejournal.com profile] vinylroad for a bit (who has finished more Sam/Jess/Dean - mwah)...and then I got violently sick. Lovely times.

And on top of that? I don't get to see Harry Potter until Friday. Oh the pain of my life. So what if people are truly suffering in this world and don't have things like food or shelter? I have to wait to see Harry Potter!

How is it that I slept most of my day away and I'm *still* tired? I can't even blame it completely on the meds...I'm just really lethargic.

But now I'm going to catch up friends list and edit threesome fic because it's gonna be awesome.

It's going around again and I quite enjoy it:

THE RULES:

1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich. Something random. Whatever you like.
2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions. (This is why I don't do memes all that often.)
4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.

I'm going through caffeine withdrawal, my sinuses are killing me, and the boy has left to go back up to NYC. He was in a lovely mood this morning because his week of vacation is over. Cry him a river. My vacation isn't until October.

We were incredibly lazy yesterday, watching a bunch of crap on television and reading and napping. We are so damn lame. SOmetimes I think we're together because no one else would tolerate our lameness.

However, I did manage to finish up the first draft of Daddy!Dean fic which [livejournal.com profile] iamentheos is going to beta and I also wrote out the first draft of [livejournal.com profile] cricketkate's Kat/Ethan fic in a notebook. Now I just have to type it up, do my own edits, and look for a beta. I like it when I'm productive with my writing.

Still have tons to do though like Jen's b-day story 'o doom that won't end and ficathon pieces. So much writing, so little time. It doesn't help that random ideas keep coming up. I think my Sam/Dean story, I Can Feel Your Heart Beat from a Thousand Miles, has spawned a possible 'verse and that scares me. Mostly because there are so many ideas that started coming up when I began writing that piece, but I couldn't get it all in. But I'm not sure I'm the right type of person to undertake creating a whole 'verse at the moment, as my writing is so damn sporadic. Then again, I tend to feel like that line from Idina Menzel's song "Still I Can't Be Still": I resist the muses, but they sing to me in exile... Lordy, I'm broken.
tommygirl: (24 - jack)
A) [livejournal.com profile] spncross is open for sign-ups. The fandoms being crossed are the top fifteen vote-getters in the poll. So go here to sign up. And please pimp!

B) Today was crazy at work. It started out easy enough, but then around eleven, I got swamped and didn't resurface until late afternoon. It did make the day go quickly, and I enjoy being busy as compared to bored, but a nice break once in awhile is a good thing.

C) This morning my office manager scared the hell out of me. I'm almost always the first person to our office in the morning. I get there about 15-20 minutes early because of the traffic patterns in my area and my hatred of rushing around. So when the door was locked and none of the main lights were on, I assumed I was the first there. I was wrong. I opened the door and heard footsteps. I was like, "What the hell is going on?" I haven't been that freaked out at work since my birthday four years ago when I walked into to find a Legolas cut-out kicking it behind my desk (at which point I wsa like, "Am I still asleep? Funny, I don't feel like I'm dreaming...but why is Orlando Bloom at my desk?").

D) No, seriously, I will keep bugging y'all who read Sam/Dean SPN fic to go read and vote over at [livejournal.com profile] spn_heraea. Angst vs. Schmoop and the stories are all wonderful.

E) I'm not sure why I went with letters. I like to be difficult to myself. How about "E" is for Entourage and I did not see the premiere last night. I plan to watch it this evening if I don't collapse. Also didn't see 4400 yet. What did I do last night? I honestly don't remember.

F) More interview questions, this time courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] mel_b_angel. To the interview questions... )

G) I think I have a book buying problem. Between buying books and borrowing them from the library, there is a pile sitting on my desk that needs to be read. I can do it. I can do it.

H) I will continue to pimp the fact that [livejournal.com profile] spncross is taking sign-ups.

Questions from [livejournal.com profile] iamentheos:

1. Is Ben still THE.ONE? Oh yes! I love him so much.

2. If yes, what keeps him in the top spot. If not, who beat him out and why? He was just on Bill Mahr a few weeks ago and I just *love* him. He's smart and funny and well-read and LIBERAL and hot. Seriously, I love many hot boy celebrities, but Ben is just my favorite. I love him so.

3. So, you and Steve. I'll be invited to the wedding, yes? *giggles* ::looks around innocently:: If hell freezes over and I agree to not only get married, but have an actual wedding, you would totally be invited.

4. Are you coming to Vancouver next year? Please?! I'm already saving up! How can I miss my evil weeble's 30th b-day bash???

5. So, Emmy goes Goes what? Where does Emmy go (aside from all the way with Jensen while jake watches?)

**

Army Wives is actually not that bad of a show. I'm watching purely for Drew Fuller, even if he will always be Chris to me, but the show is entertaining. And it has Gordon from SPN as a nice army husband.

Must pop some pills again and then I'm going to catch up on friends list and then try to write for a bit.

Interview Questions from [livejournal.com profile] medie

1. Your favorite guilty pleasure sometimes I like the bad "introduce new sister to canon" fic.

2. One thing you wish one of your shows had done better (I know *G I know, but try to restrain yourself)?

Only one thing...Hhhhmmm...

Well, everything with Luke's daughter never would've happened in season six of Gilmore Girls, that's for sure.

3. Your most effective cure for writer's block?

Picking a prompt and just writing through it. It might be crap, but it's the only thing that always gets me through.

4. The best thing about where you live? Home of the Philly cheesesteak!

5. Who is the character you identify with most of any series? Lorelai Gilmore. I'm a crazy, sometimes selfish pop culture junkie with committment issues.

**

Weekend is upon me. woo-hoo. My sister and I watched one of the many episodes of 24 that we're behind on and I realized why we're behind. It's not just Heroes. This season is just not as great as the seasons before it overall. I mean, there are some really great and amazing episodes, but there is also a lot of pointless filler episodes that are taking place this season. And hey, I get it. It's season six. It's gotta be hard to keep it completely fresh, but yeah, I hope it gets much better again.

I managed to hold out and not download the rest of series one of Robin Hood. I'm being strong. But really, my friends, where is the fic? And the icons? And the address so that I can stalk meet Jonas?

**

[livejournal.com profile] iamentheos - did you ever get your dvds? I ask because I mailed [livejournal.com profile] wendy's stuff like two weeks after yours and she's got hers already. Makes me wonder.

And did I owe anyone else anything fannish? Sometimes I forget things and you have to poke me a bunch.

**

I'm going to continue to pimp the Het Fic Summer Prompt-a-Thon until y'all head over there and make some prompt requests. Even if you're not going to write, you must inspire me. Think Ugly Betty! Think Twilight book series. Think Michael/Maria of Roswell! And pass the pimpage on!

Oh, and I've decided to increase the time for the Supernatural Hug-a-Thon until the end of May. Because who knows, maybe y'all will be in the mood to write Sam and Dean hugging fic after the season finale (And I don't no any spoilers to base that on, I'm just guessing this off last year's finale!)
tommygirl: (lost - jack & sawyer)
It used to be that I was able to get caught up on livejournal, fic, and writing on the weekends, but lately my weekends are passing in a blur of craziness. I'm not sure what to make of that.

It started with going out drinking with some of my co-workers for our one friend's last day. And moved at lightening speed from there.

I took my little bit to see Meet the Robinsons in 3D. When I asked if she wanted the regular or 3D version, she rolled her eyes at me and said, "Tommy, 3D will be much more fun." How silly of me. Anyway, I loved it as much as she did. It's hysterical. And has a very nice message, especially about how the villain came to be a villain.

Then there was the boy and hanging with some friends and errands and watching the first three episodes of Robin Hood (finally!!!) and now it's Sunday night and my weekend is over. Bah. At least I have off for Good Friday this week and I'm tempted to put in for Easter Monday off as well. Hhhmmm...must decide on that one.

**

More interview questions, this time from [livejournal.com profile] pun because, as I said in her journal, I am an egomaniac.

More random information about me... )

**

Is Brothers & Sisters new this evening? I hope so. I miss new episodes of that show. Plus, it ended in a place where I want to see what happens next.

Still behind on 24 as I chose to start Robin Hood and got sucked in through the first three episodes. I knew this would happen. I have a love of the story of Robin Hood and I've always loved Marian because she was strong and opinionated and her whole life wasn't just about her love for Robin. And the show is just so entertaining and funny and Robin is HOT. And while I think my favorite Sheriff of Nottingham will always be Alan Rickman (Why a spoon, cousin?), I think the actor in the role on the show does a really good job of playing the character.

Also forced the boy to sit through the last few episodes of General Hospital, which was a mistake. He likes to point out how ridiculous the storylines are. Like I don't know that. I'm an addict. And there are cute boys! And it's just...I *know* how dumb some of the storylines are, but I still watch.

And honestly, he shouldn't be surprised. I loved Fastlane for god's sake.

**

Alrighty, I'm going to try to catch up on the friends list and catch up on comments. However, I think I'll probably end up watching some more episodes of Robin Hood.

It's Tuesday and it's snowing. Fun times.

So I was wrong last night. I ended up watching The Class and Heroes.

Dude, the Class was funny last night. I've always been a Kat/Ethan girl, but I'm really loving the addition of Kyle to them. The three of them together are so much fun.

And right to Heroes...

I love this show, and I really love Nathan... )

Please let us get to leave early. Please let us get to leave early. I want a snow day!
tommygirl: (firefly - brain quote)
Has anyone been able to figure out why Tuesdays at work go so damn slow? I just can't understand it.

And, of course, I'm still recovering from last night's 24. I tivo'd Alias and will watch that at some point this week, but gah, how I love Keifer Sutherland. It's funny. You'd think as a bleeding heart liberal, I wouldn't care very much for Jack Bauer, a man who makes Rumsfeld's "it's not really torture" actions seem tame. But I do. I love Jack Bauer.

And all the way until the end this season did not disappoint. If you weren't watching, I suggest renting it when the season comes out on dvd. It was really good.

Also rewatched Charmed finale. So are we all of the opinion that Chris remembers his original timeline or that he doesn't? I've seen arguments for both and I want to know - for fic writing purposes, of course.

Speaking of fic writing, I have this really depressing idea for a Supernatural piece, but I'm not sure if I want to do it. On the one hand, it might become one of those stories that has to be written for my brain to continue to function. But on the other hand, while I love the angst fic and the angst on the show, sometimes it pains me for things to happen to my boys. I want them to have some happy moments in the midst of all the fighting evil and familial angst. Maybe that's why I love the crossovers. It's a chance to get them away from all that without damaging their characters.

I don't know. It might be one of those stories that gets written and only I see it.

Then again, if I wrote a paragraph of Sam and Dean as the Bee Gees fic, who knows what I am capable of? But I commented to [livejournal.com profile] kashmir1 that if truly is a crack!fic, it should be one entitled something like "Sam and Dean and the Adventures with the Pop Music Demon" - Sam and Dean find themselves becoming members of such illustrious groups as Bee Gees, New Kids on the Block and Nsync. hee.

I'm really a bit nutty sometimes.

Happy Supernatural Day! Yay for the boys of Winchester - Dean, Sammy, and Papa working together. It just fills my heart with glee.

Seriously, Supernatural is my new favorite thing about Thursdays. Yes, there is still Smallville and the Welling prettiness, but Supernatural long ago surpassed my love of every other show.

And that's taking into account the rockingness of this week's Veronica Mars. But poor Veronica - while it has a Logan, it does not have a Dean & Sam.

**

So last night's American Idol...

Spoilers on who went home... )

Also, since my sister and I finished Christmas Invasion episode of Dr. Who on Tuesday night, last night we watched the first episode of the new season.

Don't have much to say on it currently, but dude, as much as I came to love Nine, I think that will be far surpassed by my love of Ten. And not just because it's David Tennant and he's hot. But he's just...I can't explain it. I mean, I love Nine immensely...so damn adorable and wonderful. But Ten in just Christmas Invastion and 2.1 has completely won me over.

I didn't have a chance to watch Alias yet, but I'm greatly looking forward to it. It seems that JJ and company are trying very hard to make up for some downward spiral times and giving the fans a kick-ass ending. Here's to hoping.

More interview questions, this time from [livejournal.com profile] dragonsinger:

1) Read anything good lately? yeppers. I read Peeps by Scott Westerfeld, a young adult book about vampires done a bit differently. And, of course, Charmed Thirds by Megan McCafferty came out two weeks ago so I read that book in three days! I love my Jessica Darling books.

2) Dean comes to you for help on an investigation, what would be your expertise? The Jersey Devil. South Jersey has been my home all my life and I know that story very well. Though my favorite sighting story of the Jersey Devil was someone who saw him driving down Rt. 206 in a Ford Bronco. Hee.

3) You've been turned into a Charmed One. What's your power? Can I have Piper’s powers? She rocks.

4) If you had to choose a favorite book, what would it be? That’s actually easy. My favorite book of all time is The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. I read it for the first time when I was eleven and I’ve read it at least once a year since. I just love it so much.

5) Does this jacket make me look fat? You? Fat? Never darling!

**

Okay, off to do some work and hopefully some writing at some point.

Ciao.
tommygirl: (sga - sheppard - oh please)
It's Tuesday morning but the weather is lovely and 24 rocked my socks last night (it always does though - this is nothing new). So I hope for good moods all around on the friends list.

I also think it helps that I accomplished 2800 words on the [livejournal.com profile] smutbox fic so that [livejournal.com profile] magickly doesn't have to kill me. Hopefully, it's decent. It's nowhere near done yet, but it's coming along and I should make the deadline.

Then it's to focus on my [livejournal.com profile] highwaymiles piece and my zombieficathon piece, both of which are due this weekend as well. It's not like these deadlines snuck up on me. I knew they were looming, but like the true procrastinator that I am, I waited until this week to deal with it.

Anyway, the remainder of the drabbles will get finished, but not until these three stories are done first.

And hopefully soon I will be out of the demon house. I can't explain it and I know it's not rational, but I just can't write in that house. I used to be able to sit at my computer at home and write for hours, but everytime I start now...I just can't in that house. Bad writing mojo, bad mojo in general, is all around. The new place better be more conducive or else I just need to get over it.

So much writing to continue to do today.

More interview questions - feel free to ask me questions or to have me ask you questions (though my questions are always terrible!)

Five questions from [livejournal.com profile] mrscutedean:

1. Black or white? Black

2. Hamlet or Othello? Hamlet

3. What is your favorite animal and why? Lions – I’m not sure why except I love kitties and lion cubs and grown lions are freaking adorable...but at the same time, quite ferocious and capable of biting your heads off. Plus felines in general are much pickier with their affections – I respect that.

4. If you could change one thing about your life what would it be? Oh, I would’ve thought more about my college than “Must get away from the mother” when I was seventeen…because I ended up transferring home two years later anyway.

5. Tell me something you love about yourself? I have a great sense of humor.

Five questions from [livejournal.com profile] shadesofbrixton:

1. Season one Sark v. season two Sark, in your bed. Choose. Season Two Sark – he was uber hot and wonderfully devilish.

2. Who is your most unusual celebrity fantasy? Probably Kevin Spacey. I love that man and I can’t explain why I find him so attractive aside from this oozing charisma that makes me weak in the knees.

3. How much would I have to pay you to have sex with Tom Cruise? Uh...one billion dollars. I figure I could afford enough therapy (evil thetans!) – and it’s not like I have to like him, right?

4. What is the most invasive thing someone has ever asked you (though you needn't answer it here, since that isn't technically my question)? Random guy on the street asking if I was a virgin was pretty invasive and quite creepy.

5. Person on your flist you'd most like to boink. You’re all so damn hot, how can I choose? But that [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy is just the sexiest Republican-loving girl that I know!

**

I'm still not caught up on Prison Break or Lost, but I'm slowly making progress in getting caught up. The problem is that the demon house eats our Tivos and randomly has electrical issues (things it never had while in our apartment) and it just sometimes decides not to record things. So then I have to wait for torrents and cry a bit and it causes me to get behind.

And really, it's also because while getting the sister hooked on Doctor Who, we sat around watching the first twelve episodes all weekend with my free time. We have one more to go and Christmas Invasion before she'll let me watch season two. That's right, bratty little sister is making me wait for her to watch seson two.

Not much else to report. My life is quite boring and yet insanely busy with boring things.

Ciao.
tommygirl: (firefly - brain quote)
Argh. It should be law that Monday mornings at work can't start until at least 10am. It should especially be true when one wakes up to thunder storms. Like I really wanted to get out of bed to that.

I'm not really sure where my weekend went. I read a bit, slept a lot (damn sinuses), and watched a whole lot of Doctor Who with the sister so that we can start season two. I didn't do anything fandom-related and now the crunch is on to finish many things by this coming weekend. Oh why do I procrastinate?

I really need to work on my [livejournal.com profile] smutbox stuff so that I can get it to [livejournal.com profile] magickly with enough time for lots of changes and new ideas and such before the due date on Sunday. We chatted some about what we wanted to do and I started something...just never finished. Bad fangirl that I am.

Oh, FYI...Target is having one of their Tv-shows-on-dvd sales again. West Wing seasons 1-5, Gilmore Girls seasons 1-5, Nip & Tuck seasons 1-2, and Veronica Mars are all on sale for like 23.00 bucks. I picked up season three of West Wing. Is it weird that I only want seasons 1-3 (which I have) and then 6 & 7? I mean, the show just lost me for awhile there. Sadly, I still watched each week.

On the bright side to a miserable monday morning...new 24 tonight! God, I love Jack Bauer...and this so is just so damn good.

The Interview Meme

01. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
02. I will respond by asking you five questions of a very intimate and creepily personal nature. Or not so creepy/personal.
03. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
04. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
05. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

5 Questions from [livejournal.com profile] carrielh:

1. Name three things that you absolutely can't live without. books, my computer, my Tivo

2. What's your favorite fic you've ever written? Hhhmmm…this is quite hard, but I’m pretty fond of The Proposal, which is a Haley/Nathan One Tree Hill story set during the first season. I think it turned out rather well.

3. If you created a television show, what genre would it be? And name five actors that you would do absolutely anything to have on your show. Oh, this is easy because it’s one I’ve always wanted to do if I had those type of connections. I want to turn the Stephanie Plum series of books into a television show – so action/mystery/romance…Actors I’d want versus actors who’d be good for the show becomes hard though. But five actors I’d do anything to work with: Matt Damon, George Clooney, Jennifer Garner, Reese Witherspoon, Jensen Ackles…however, I don’t know that they would fit the roles in the show.

4. What's your job like? Is it what you'd like to do for the foreseeable future, or do you have another dream career in mind? I work in transportation management, trying to get people to use alternate choices rather than single car driving. It’s not a bad job and I love the people I work with, but I’m working on many degrees so that I can become a college professor of English instead. My goal is to be a professor/novelist.

5. What's your favorite song of the moment? “Love that Will Last” Renee Olstead

5 questions from [livejournal.com profile] nicalamity:

1. if you could live in one fandom, which one would you pick? Supernatural, but I wouldn’t be a victim, I’d be a hunter who happens to have to work with Dean and Sam and they both adore her and she gets them to walk around wearing only towels and...

2. super powers. everyone wants one. what's yours? I’m invincible!

3. is there any particular celebrity gossip or even celebrity in general that irks you? Oh, so much that irks me, but the trend started with “Bennifer” to combine names of dating celebs. Is it really that hard to say both names? It’s just…it turns them into entities.

4. what's your "comfort food"? Pizza. It’s my favorite food, my comfort food, my *every* food.

5. i have a time machine. which time period would you like to go to? I want to go back to the early sixties and be on Bandstand.

A Little Pimpage:

- Supernatural & Stargate Atlantis People: There are still some prompts in those fandoms up for claiming for the original character fanfiction challenge
- Since us Brothers Halliwell girls aren't getting a spin-off, [livejournal.com profile] dragonsinger is running the Brothers Halliwell Prompt-a-thon. So go and offer up some Wyatt & Chris prompts.
- A new round of [livejournal.com profile] rec50 begins on May 1st. So go claim a fandom, pairing, character and rec anywhere from 10 to 50 of your favorite stories.

Okay, off to catch up on friends list and do some writing. My new mantra is must write, must write, must write...
tommygirl: (joa - goth god)
Okay, I lied. I’m not writing because I’m evil and lazy and a procrastinator of the greatest power. (Insert evil cackles here)

Instead, I shall post and spam and all sorts of other fun things until I get to leave for the day and go home. I’m going to run to the library, grab some terribly unhealthy food, and then hunker down in my apartment with a “do not disturb” sign.

Anyway, that interview meme is going around again. I love nothing more than answering questions about myself – I’m just that self-absorbed – and babbling on incoherently for many minutes. So yes, ask me questions, people...and if you want questions, leave a comment and I’ll ask you some.

Questions from [livejournal.com profile] vibrantharmony:

1. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? This is an easy one…pizza. I love pizza. I don’t care that it’s a caloric bomb or an evil carb! I love it so.

2. What brought you into fandom? (this or any other one) Hhhhhmmm…I guess my first real online fandom was Nsync. Up until that point, I only used the internet to email with friends at different schools and to do research. Then Nsync came along and my sister taught me about this thing called EGroups and that’s when I discovered fandom…I guess I stick around because it’s nice to have likeminded people to squee with about different things and to share fanfiction and photos and general thoughts with.

3. If you could follow a celebrity around for a day, who would you choose?

Ben Affleck! I love that boy! And with this question, I could avoid a restraining order being filed against me.

4. What is your most embarrassing dream? I don’t really know that I have many embarrassing dreams – or if I do, I’ve blocked them out and don’t recall. Maybe embarrassing in the sense that I’ve had dreams where I’ve been so angry with someone that when I wake up it’s still there…and then it is slightly embarrassing to apologize and explain how your inappropriate anger began.

5. If you were an ad agency for the place where you live, what you advertise as its best feature? Ooohhh…interesting question. I mean, I think our old governor said it best in all those commercials, “New Jersey and you…perfect together.” It’s best feature would probably be its location (definitely wouldn’t mention the Turnpike EVER) – Jersey is an easy traveling distance to New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, even DC. Not many places can claim that sort of access to so many metropolitan areas – and you can do it all on the same train (the Metroliner!)

With the question section done for the time being, I shall now do the latest writing meme going around…

I will spare you this much if you are so inclined… )

Finally, since my last hour is almost up as I worked on this and talked with co-workers, I leave you with some quick pimpage...

-It's not too late to sign up for [livejournal.com profile] rec50.

-There is a new community called [livejournal.com profile] whatif_fic. It's multifandom and once every couple of weeks there will be a prompt that's a what if question...then you write fic as the answer. Sounds very intriguing! So go join and write some great fic.

-[livejournal.com profile] quillandink is my writing/challenges community where pimping of all fandom/original fiction challenges occurs as well as prompts and round robins. Check it out!
tommygirl: (house - alienate)
how much do I love my new 140 hour TIVO. I mean, our other one, which is now in the sister's room, was great and wonderful and lasted a very long time (it still works), but it was one of the first models and only held 30 hours of time at its most basic.

::hugs her tivo::

::Wonders if she is crazier than she originally suspected::

For all my Charmed girls out there, question regarding the finale:

I'm cutting away in case people haven't seen it yet... )

I haven't seen 24 yet, but otherwise, I'm up-to-date on all my finales for the season. I'm waiting for the sister to watch the new QAF, hoping it's goodness and lots of hot Brian Kinney. Really, he just has to be on the screen and I'm a happy girl.

**

Today I must finish my story for the Jack/Sawyer/Kate Ficathon. It's in a really rough place right now (dirty! but not!), so it needs a lot of work before tomorrow's deadline. Must. Finish. Story.

I will not sign up for any more ficathons until yuletide...that is my new goal. I will do the ones I've signed up for already, but I need a break. It's my own fault. They're all so appealing and I have an addiction, but no more! [livejournal.com profile] sdlucly said so!

**

Speaking of, had fun conversations with both [livejournal.com profile] sdlucly and [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy last night. I'm trying to get [livejournal.com profile] sdlucly to write a Seth/Ryan piece where they go see the new Star Wars and Seth compares Marissa to the dark side. Hee. I even helped with some possible dialogue. So let's all bug her to write it!

And Steph had to explain CSI world to me so that I could properly beta her CSI fic...and now, she's made me a shipper on a show that I don't even watch. I don't know if that proves her brilliance or her evilness. Maybe both.

**

I think this is the last of the interview questions, but really, feel free to ask away if so inclined... )

**

It's a Tuesday, I'm procrastinating, so be warned that there may be a few more posts throughout the day.

But, for the meantime, I shall bid you adieu.
tommygirl: (backstreet's back)
So the lovely [livejournal.com profile] acciopotter shared a few of her photos from her backstreet boys concert with me, which after drooling over AJ and Brian...I asked if I could make my subpar icons and she said sure.

So mostly this is for her...and if anyone else wants to see my sad, sad usage of Paintshop Pro.

A few Backstreet Boys icons... )

**

Also, I keep forgetting to post this. Someone asked me questions from the interview meme...

interview questions from sylver_one - feel free to keep asking and I'll keep answering at some point... )

My sister and I aren't starting Gilmore Girls until about 8:35 so that we can watch both that and Veronica Mars without horrible commercials. Viva la Tivo. It's just the best thing ever. How did I ever live before I had Tivo in my life? And our tax-refund gift to ourselves came in the mail (A super Tivo with 140 hours of space) so that will be hooked up soon! Viva la BIG Tivo!

In the meantime, I shall finish some random stuff I had to do. Tomorrow I hope to get some writing done - work was so demanding with the whole doing actual work today. Hee.
tommygirl: (chris - guide)
First, happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] carrielh!!! I hope you have a great day!

Last night I did something that I rarely do anymore – I read a very long, unfinished WIP, all 34 chapters in one evening. I was minding my own business, perusing the recent fics posted over at fanfiction.net in the Charmed section and there was this story called He Did It For Me by Teal Lover. And I got sucked in right away, as if this author knew every single of one my kinks in fiction, the stuff that makes me swoon and lose all sanity that would tell me, “Don’t read a story all in one sitting, dude. You have things to do, your own writing to complete.”

There is an interesting plot, but really, it’s about the characters and how they deal with things and their reactions to the reveals. There is Good Adult Wyatt, Wyatt/Chris as best friends, and angst out the wazoo. I don’t want to give anything away, but really, oh the angst! It hits you in the first chapter and just keeps building and building until you’re hoping for an emotional release that hasn’t come quite yet.

There are a few grammar/spelling issues that arise throughout the chapters, but nothing too annoying that I couldn’t overlook it – and if I can get past it, probably most people can because I have issues. I found myself willing to ignore them because the story was much more powerful than that.

So seriously, I know some of you out there ([livejournal.com profile] dragonsinger, [livejournal.com profile] ladybug218, [livejournal.com profile] supernaturalhel) share my love of the boys’ lives as adults and this is just...oh my god.

Go read - He Did It For Me

**

Needless to say that I didn’t get any writing of my own done last night or get updates done to my website that needed to be handled.

I did, however, get hit with large amounts of angsty!Chris muse who thinks that I should be bringing the angst like Teal Lover did. Good god. Beware [livejournal.com profile] ladybug218 that I don’t go all misery & woe on our A/U.

I did not forget that I need to get the Princess Bride ficlet done, as it was a reward fic for April Fool’s Challenge and since it’s over...but I’ve never written in that fandom before and I’m quite panicked that I will ruin one of my favorite movies.

**

More interview questions because I love them - these are from louisemcgregor )

And these are questions from dragonsinger... )

**

New Veronica Mars this evening! I’m both looking forward to and fearing this episode. How are there only two left to this season? It’s seriously my favorite show this year. It’s the one that I think about and the one that constantly makes all coherent thought go away...and maybe it’s because the creator seems to notice what the fans want and gives it to them (even if it’s in evil small doses filled to the brim with angst and obstacles).

Battlestar Galatica would be a close second for favorite show for those same reasons and because there is no getting around Apollo’s hotness in my opinion.

Yes, it’s true. I’m shallow and what usually gets me to watch something in the beginning is the promise of a cute boy, but then I need more, preferably with snark.

**

Alrighty, most of the office is out today. I found myself singing “All By Myself” until one of my co-workers said I should audition for American Idol. He swears he wasn’t being sarcastic, but I’m not so sure.

Have a good day everyone!
tommygirl: (xander)
passing the time until this day is done. Very busy. Very gross out - damn you allergies!

Anyway, more interview questions. Ask me some questions or ask for some questions...

Questions from spy_barbie... )

Questions from my partner in crime, the evilest of weebles... )

Does anyone want to take over writing Trouble In My Head for me? Really? Anyone out there?

Laney is still being difficult and I've got no bloody interest in difficult when I have a Lee Adama muse that wants my attention and then this weird ohmygodtheover-the-top angst bunny for Seth/Ryan. And of course, there is always Chris...

So Laney really needs to start being more conducive to letting me write this chapter. Because how can I even begin to fix things between her and Justin if I can't get through one damn chapter.

**

Not much else to report. Baffled by the crazy lady/bride that reported her own kidnapping - dude, this is why I don't think marriage is necessary and that living in sin can be much more fun. Wasn't sure whether the President was being ironic during his press conference when he uttered the words "energy plan." Tired and sore from packing boxes for a friend. And feeling quite lazy that I did absolutely NO writing this weekend. None. Aside from making the edits to a piece that was beta'd, there was no use of WORD.

So on that note, I shall go flog myself and wish away the remainder of the day.

Ciao.
