writing new fandoms...
Oct. 24th, 2005 10:49 amI wrote my very first Stargate Atlantis fic this weekend for the Smallville/SGA Flash Fiction Fun. It's in the hands of my trusty betas at the moment, but it will be posted by early this evening as to be in on time. Hopefully, the person I wrote for will like it and I didn't mess up the characters too badly.
That's always my great fear when finally undertaking a new fandom. The first story, I always wonder if I'm getting the characters down correctly - because to me, when I read fanfiction, that's the most important thing. It doesn't matter if the writing is magnificent or the plot is stupendous, if the characters don't come across like the ones I already love, well, it won't work for me. So I always panic about that.
So I can only hope I managed to make the characters believable.
Oh, and I pushed my own teasing boundaries of smut a little further than usual...so hopefully it works. I feel bad about that, but smut is just not my forte. It always sounds so clinical when I write it, and yeah, that's enticing.
**
Now off to do tons of other writing that I didn't do this weekend due to social obligations. Sometimes I wish I were a hermit who only had to answer to her computer, but I realize that probably wouldn't be the healthiest lifestyle choice. And the boy might get annoyed by that.
Oh well.
Ciao, my friends!
