tell me, friends...

Can someone explain to me why there is not more of an explosion within the SGA fandom for Sheppard/Dex? I mean, I love Sheppard/McKay and I totally see them as the more...stable...than anything with Sheppard and Ronon, but come on! Sheppard and Ronon would be so damn HOT that one's head might explode from witnessing such a thing. It would be perfect. So, where is all the good Sheppard/Dex? I've been reading (and rereading)
thisisbone's stuff for them, but where else is all the stuff? Dammit, give me an influx!
Yet, for some reason, I'm having incredible problems writing it myself. Dex is a really hard (hee-hee) character for me to capture as far as dialogue and mannerisms go.

Episode 1.6 - Skin
Dear Writers of Supernatural,
It is not very nice to give a girl a very nice view of shirtless, grimy Dean and then BAM, teeth falling out, fleshing come off, gross things everywhere. It's WRONG! I was blinded. I haven't been this scarred by something on my television since Kirk was naked on Gilmore Girls.
::shudders::
So let me clarify. One big "hell yeah" regarding shirtless Dean. One big "WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT FOR" in reference to the whole shapeshifter change. Really. Some things are better left to the imagination.
A scarred Tommygirl
Over all, it was an interesting episode, but unlike many of the other episodes, we have no real understanding of the creature the boys are hunting. The shapeshifter hints to all these things about being born unwanted and his admiration/feeling of kinship with Dean...what the hell was that? And what motivated him to kill women?
But because they then bring me an episode chock full of lots of brotherly angst/relationship, I forgive all (except the whole gore). I love Sam and Dean's relationship. It's wonderful and brotherly. I love Dean as the protective older brother, but in this episode, I think we see how protective Sam is of Dean too. First, Sam wasn't so much concerned with his own welfare as what happened to his brother. Second, Sam never mentions to Dean what the peapod Dean had said because he knows that information being out there would somewhat undo Dean.
I loved that Sam knew it wasn't really his brother.
I just love Dean more than anything and think the Shapeshifter was an interesting way to get some of Dean's feelings into play without ruining the character that's been built.
Am currently writing fic based off my happy squee.
Seriously, this is my favorite show of the season. The only one that I look forward to every single week.

To the Charmed fans on my list, specifically those that love Chris-centric stuff: Since I need to write 98 more stories all with Chris as a central character...feel free to give me some prompts. Anything you want to read? And remember - angsty Chris owns my soul much more than happy Chris.
ladybug218 already gave me a few ideas, but I'm always up for more.

Now I'm off to finish up a Gilmore Girls birthday fic for a friend and then to hang with the sister
floundering to watch some television.
Ciao, my friends.
