So I think I'm officially giving up on Nanowrimo. I'll still continue writing the Dean Crossover 'O Doom, but I'm only at a little over 20,000 words and there is no way with work and class that I'm pulling this out. Instead, I figure I will spend the next few days of November trying to finish up ficlets I owe people and getting a start on my numerous holiday challenge pieces.

And then I will continue to write my Dean crossover as I go, without worrying about making the 50,000.

I give so much credit to y'all who can do it. I just like my friends and movies and sleep too much to really push myself.

Whenever the boy would take time to game with my sister, I would attempt to catch up on fanfic. I'm still uber behind, but I'm hoping to make a recs post soon over at [livejournal.com profile] polyfandomrecs before our one year anniversary. It's so weird. Where did the year go? I mean, both Steph and I had been reccing stuff separately before setting up the community, but then she had the brilliant idea we should join forces and we did. and now it's been a year.

Fun times.

Anyway, I've been trying to bookmark all the fic out there that I stumble across that looks like something I'd read or is by one of you guys (because y'all are my favorite writers). But feel free to comment with links to stories you think I must not miss out on.

-random fandom meeting ficlets
-beta Steph's [livejournal.com profile] yuletide fic (she makes me look bad with this being done thing)

-RPS Advent fic
-Yuletide fic
-Slashfest Fic
-Het Christmas Fic
-Supernatural Holidays Exchange piece
-Supernatural Christmas Prompt Piece
-check out wishlists to see what I can do

I'm sure there's more and I just can't think of it. Argh. How do I do this to myself every single year?

Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot chocolate, but it must be made with warm milk and not water. I’m a picky girl.

Does Santa wrap presents or just set them under the tree? Not only does Santa wrap presents, but he has mad organizational skills at my house, using only certain wrapping paper for certain people and such.

Colored lights on tree/house or white? White lights

Do you hang mistletoe? Nope. I don’t really do much in the way of decorating for Christmas.

When do you put your decorations up? We start the day after Thanksgiving. Well, the only thing I’ve always put out were the stockings and my North Pole village collection…sometimes a tree. Now, however, that the mother is living with us, she has started going crazy.

What is your favorite holiday dish? I always make homemade chocolate fudge for my co-workers and friends. It’s pretty good.

Favorite Holiday memory as a child? It would be probably the Christmas from when I was nine. Because it was before my dad got sick, but both my brothers came home and my whole family was around for the day. Plus, my sister and I both got our own boom boxes that year (cassette at the time) and we danced around to Michael Jackson’s thriller all morning after opening gifts. Yes, there was a time when I liked both my older brothers.

Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Yes, one gift. It’s always our Christmas pajamas. Though since going on our own, my sister and I have started exchanging our gifts on Christmas Eve. That probably won’t happen this year.

How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? With lots of Disney character pieces. There was a time when my mother forced a peach motif down our throats, but my sister and I boycotted. We refused to help decorate an all peach tree.

Snow: love or hate it? It depends. I love it on a nice, cozy Sunday when I have nowhere to go and I don’t have to shovel it. I hate it when I have to be at work and my cover is covered and the roads are filled with crazy people.

Can you ice skate? No. I have enough trouble walking.

Do you remember your favorite gift? The year I got my leather bomber jacket (I was 13) was an awesome year. I loved that jacket for many years.

What's your favorite thing about the holidays? Days off.

What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? I don’t really have one.

What is your favorite holiday tradition? We always take one day to go to NYC and do all the Christmas stuff each year…and then we go home and bake away into the evening.

What tops your tree? An angel

Which do you prefer giving or Receiving? Giving. Don’t get me wrong, I love receiving too, but it’s always nice to be able to do something for someone I care about.

What is your favorite Christmas Song? “Grown-up Christmas Wish”

Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum? Yum in the beginning…yuck after I’ve received thirty or so candy canes.

What's number one on your Christmas list this year? I honestly don’t know. Everyone keeps asking what I *really* want and for the most part, just some television shows on DVD that I haven’t been able to afford on my own. Though I know I’m getting a new Coach bag from the boy, so that’s probably at the TOP.

Dear Philadelphia Sports Teams,

What's with the sucking? ::glares at her hockey boys:: Especially you Flyers. I expect this sort of thing from the Eagles, but you're usually better than this.

No love,

Tommygirl

Alrighty, off to finish off this day and then to go home and countdown time until new Heroes. I really love this show. And it's weird because I'm not particularly fannish about it at all. It's as though the actual show is *enough* for me. Go figure.
