tommygirlSo wow. Last night's Supernatural...
Episode 2.9 - Croatoan
So Croatoan...cool concept for the villagers of Roanoke. That was always one of my favorite historical moments and I watch all the specials about it (there was a good one on Digging for the Truth back in April).
Anyway...
The whole episode was interesting and added to the whole overall arc of what exactly is going on with Sam and why the demon is interested. But it can't be good that he's freaking *immune* to a demon virus.
And where did the people go? like Dean, I want some closure, dammit.
But seriously the scenes that made this episode:
1) When Dean was about to go kill the guy and Sam told him not to do it. Sam was so perfectly the little brother there, trying to figure out what Dean was thinking and what was going on with him. And Dean reacted like a big brother, just pushing Sam aside and locking him in the room.
2) Dean threatening to kill any of them if they touched Sam and then giving up his Impala to stay with Sam. But really, it was Sam's reaction that killed me dead. When he slammed his fist into the seat and gave Dean that look...you totally know that Sam would do the same thing if the roles were reversed (except Dean is sneakier and would totally get away from Sam), but yet, he didn't want Dean staying with him. That scene just ripped me apart. Because we all know (and Sam knows it too) that Dean wouldn't manage to go on if he lost Sam.
3) Sam's whole "You're my brother, let me take some of the weight" speech was just so adorable.
And dude, did anyone actually expect Kripke to tell us before the episode ended? The bastard. I knew it would end just like that and now we have so many weeks until there is new boys.
Overall = love
Because really, this is why I watch this show. The brotherly relationship and it was at its finest in this episode. Those boys love each other something fierce and I really think that whatever this demon has planned for Sam, it's going to realize its big mistake was choosing John over Dean to die. Because I think that as long as Sam has Dean, he'll be okay in the end. And vice versa.
But now I want some Post episode fic that deals with that scene in the clinic, where Sam forces Dean to talk about it and tries to get Dean to promise to leave him if something like that ever happens again. And Dean tries to brush him off, but he's Sammy and persistent so Dean finally just says that he would never agree to that. And lots of angst and making out ensues.

larah33 for the idea that sparked my writing because I was flailing in an email and she offered up a "funny" idea. Hee.
And then I have a bunch of stuff to beta. And then more writing to do. But really, all I want to do is go home and watch Supernatural again because I love it so much. Damn show *owns* me.

Date: 2006-12-08 06:10 pm (UTC)#2 was just the best scene, so much emotion locked into a few words and a few actions that could seem simple but really weren't - like DEAN GIVING AWAY THE IMPALA!
And yes prettyangstysexy!fic is definitely on order after that episode!
