Some fandom-related stuff...
Supernatural Friday Five (
spn_fridayfive) – Week 22:
1. John, Mary, and Sam are all Biblical names, but Dean is not. Do you think Kripke did this purposely? And if so, what is the significance? I never really thought about it, but knowing Kripke and his detailed plans for things in this show, I’m guessing their might be some significance.
2. From what the demon has suggested so far, we know Sam's afraid he's destined to go "dark", but what about Dean? Do you think greater things, whether they be good or bad, await Dean? I think that Dean will become an even greater hunter as he opens himself up to the idea that supernatural does not equate to evil and learning that gray area for himself. For me, Dean has always been the type of character that I love…he doesn’t really belong in the world, but he chooses to make it a better place for other people, not out of a sense of vengeance, but because it’s the right thing to do. I love that little bit in Devil’s Trap about how Dean used to want to be a firefighter because it’s so perfectly him. He wants to help people…so in that sense, I already think that unlike Sam, he’s great.
The only thing that could drive Dean to darkness would be having to kill Sam/losing Sam to evil. And it’s not that I think he would turn evil so much as get swallowed up in his own pain.
3. Which singer/band/song would you like to see featured on the show next? Let’s have some Janis Joplin please.
4. If you could change anything about Sam and/or Dean, what would it be? Not a damn thing. I love them in all their fucked up ways. They are perfectly imperfect and I love that about them.
5. What was your reaction when you discovered the squeaks in the Metallicar's doors are actually sound effects? I didn’t really care. Does that make me a bad Supernatural Fan?
Supernatural Friday Five (
spn_fridayfive) – Week 21:
1. We see that the episodes are starting to "recycle" some of the season one monsters. What monsters would you like to see revisited? I would definitely love more with the vampires, especially more interaction with Lenore and her group that don’t feed on humans. Like where would they stand in the big fight that is coming?
2. In the season one finale, Sam draws the devil's trap onto the impala and explains its function, and although this symbol is not brought up again, the episode title is Devil's Trap. What do you think is its the significance? Isn’t the symbol one that keeps demons from being able to enter?
3. What is your favourite season two episode so far? And why? There have been a few really good episodes, but my favorite is still In My Time of Dying. The whole family is there and they love each other so much…and the writing/acting/everything is so damn good. Plus, I’m not sure I love anything more than how much of a little brother Sam really is throughout that episode. And the choice that Dean faces at the end…only to have his father make the ultimate sacrifice…GAH.
4. Sam or evil!Sam?
Evil!Sam was fun for an episode, but I love Sam.
5. If the Winchester brothers got tossed into another fandom (TV show, book, etc), which fandom do you think they'll be the most at home in? Which one would they be the most out-of-place in? Most at home would probably be Angel. Most out of place? I don’t know. They’ve seen some weird shit in their day…so maybe something like Brothers and Sisters where it’s just this very normal family. It would totally freak them out, even Sam.

Sometimes it's ok to pimp yourself out. Post a list of your top five fics favorite you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the BEST things you've written, but what you LOVE most. Then tag five other people to do the same.
1. Scenes from the Passenger Seat - Joan of Arcadia - This will surprise some of you, but I have a hard love of sibling relationships, and this story gave me the chance to explore Joan & Kevin's. And I really love how it turned out.
2. And Then: Long Live the Queen (The Prue Perspective Remix) - Charmed - I thought this story turned out amazingly well, after I freaked out about it for awhile and made some small changes, I realized that it just worked.
3. Devil's Trap Choose Your Own Adventure - Supernatural - I have to say that I really love this story (stories) and enjoy going back to reread different endings from time to time. Much of that is because of
iamtheenemy, who not only did her normal kick ass beta job, but went beyond the call of duty and turned this into something really good.
4. Republicans End the World...Accidentally - West Wing - This was written for the zombie ficathon and when I saw my assignment, I had a brief freak-out where I pondered how the hell I was going to do this. And this was just one of those rare writing experiences where I sat down to write and it all came out fairly easily.
5. Three To Six - Ocean's Eleven - I think sometimes my challenge pieces that I freak out about turn out the best. I looked at my request and began to panic, "What do I know about writing in this fandom? Just because I love it doesn't mean anything." Then I watched the movie a few times and I just got this vision of Tess showing up at Rusty's and expecting him to take care of her until Danny was free. I really love the Tess & Rusty relationship I set up in this too, not quite friendship. They're kindred in some ways and yet so very different.
