Tonight's television viewing should've been called "the night Tommygirl turned to valium."
Dear Ugly Betty,
You're supposed to be a comedy. I was going into this for light and happy, especially knowing what I would be watching after...but no, you had to freaking KILL Santos! And you ended with THAT scene. You are so lucky I'm madly in love with you, or we'd be broken up.
Bastards!
No Love,
Tommygirl
I should've known the beginning with Henry was too good to be true. At first, I thought it was some sort of dream on her part, but no, they were going to get a real first date. They were going to be happy, but stupid Charlie is pregnant (and it might not be Henry's). But Henry and Betty are so cute. Henry must come back and be with Betty and give her a happy relationship until both her and Daniel are ready for forever!
And I love how Amanda told everyone! Hee.
Marc/Willie OTP is almost as great as my Marc/Amanda BFF. Marc dressed in all black, smoking, hee...so cute. And I love that Willie gets him back and gives up the wedding date she wanted. Even she has her soft spots.
Why, oh why, would Alexis, knowing she hired a hit man to KILL her father, take her father's car? At that point, you call a freaking ambulance if you're that worried about him. But I did like that Daniel was so honest (if not in a drug-induced stupor) with Alexis...because I've truly never understood why Alexis was so against Daniel. Her father is a huge ass, so I get that, but what did Daniel do?
I sorta like prison!Claire and making the break for it. Willie better watch her back.
Please tell me Amanda is NOT Bradford's daughter. They're going for canon incest! Rock out! ::boggles::
I knew something was going to happen to keep Santos from showing up at Justin's show, but did they have to kill him? Was that really necessary? Two Thursdays in a fucking row where television nearly caused an emotional breakdown. I don't like icky emotions, people. I'm like Jaye from Wonderfalls - I repress things - so *crying* is NOT COOL.
**
And then there was Supernatural and I will try to be calm because this show continues to own my soul like no other.
Episode 2.22 - All Hell Breaks Loose Part 2
Dean broke my fucking heart. His drinking and snapping at Bobby and wondering if he hadn't sacrificed enough already...and just...without Sam he is completely destroyed.
Dean talking to Sammy's body = OW. How he always tried to protect him and how he tried to give Sam as much of a normal childhood as he could, to keep him from the dark stuff for as long as possible...how he felt like such a failure...
GAH. That whole scene. Jensen just nailed it. If we didn't know it already, that boy has some serious chops. Good God.
And him showing up at the Crossroads. At first I thought maybe he had a plan of a different sort, but I totally knew he would do whatever he had to do in order to bring Sammy back. Because Dean's whole existence has always been about Sam, but he's never gotten that Sam counts on Dean being there. And a freaking year. You know he's just calculating that it's enough time to get the YED and get Sam back to Stanford and into his happy life that he deserves (and Dean doesn't).
THEY HUGGED!
I GOT A FUCKING HUG!
Of course, Dean is now doomed to an eternity in hell, but Sam's alive again and he and Dean hugged.
Dude, Sam talking about killing Jake was creepy. It made me wonder if it was really like Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things and Sam was going to be really dark and disturbing from now out. Like Dean dusting the vamp times one thousand...
Jared played that really well because he went from being that creepy to being so damn perfectly Sammy when Dean talked about the roadhouse being destroyed and Ash being dead.
And oh Dean.
Dear Kripke,
That scene with Bobby and Dean was made of the awesome. You know Bobby totally thinks of Dean and Sam like his boys. And, though he would never admit it, Dean is totally his favorite, the one he worries about most (because he always felt like no one else was). Just Bobby being so upset with Dean's choice and not realizing how important he was to people...and then just a sad relenting that Dean really would've been no use to anyone without a Sam.
I love you. This is why I tolerate you ripping my heart out.
Tommygirl
I'm glad Ellen's alive and not possessed by a demon. But I love that Bobby thinks to check her.
But that means Ash is really dead? ::Cries:: Oh Ash and Andy. It upsets me.
So Sam Colt locked up a gate to hell within a devil's trap? And the YED wanted it open to have his army...
Again, Sam with Jake was some serious creepy shit. He was so un-Sammylike.
But then two minutes later he was back to our Sammy, trying to rush in to save his brother because in the end that's all that matters to him.
Why must the fucking YED always taunt Dean? And don't say that Sam isn't 100 percent Sam anymore (plot point for next season?) - I don't like that, dammit. Dean's already dark enough for the two of them.
How fucking awesome that in the end it's Dean that kills the demon! And I loved that shot of the bullet coming out of the gun and the look on the demon's face. He always underestimated Dean and it was almost poetic that it was Dean (with John's help) that destroyed him.
John fighting his way out of hell to help destroy the demon and protect his sons...so perfectly John Winchester. Him with Dean was just so perfect. He and Sam nod at one another because really, it's Dean that needs that moment. It's Dean that blames himself for his father's death and that never felt good enough.
The disappearing in a blur of light was a bit much for me in that it reminded me of fucking Ghost, but it was just like what happened to Molly so it's consistent with what we were given.
And then the ouchie scene where Sam puts it all together.
Sam finally manages to get it through Dean's thick fucking skull how much he loves his big brother. ANd that he's going to save Dean this time.
So let's see going into season three, we'll be dealing with: Dean's soon-to-be expiring life and the demons that were unleashed.
What I'm wondering though...is Sammy still in danger of going dark because of his time being dead before he was brought back? And was Sam's omission of Mary recognizing the demon on purpose or just Sam being confused?
Anway, I loved it. Thank God Sam is alive (Yeah, I knew it would happen) and they have a year to figure out a way to save Dean...maybe I've been a part of Jossverse too long, but I have this idea that even if Dean ended up in hell, he'd end up coming back because he really is a champion for good. (And yeah, that *might* be a story I'm working on...)
So your thoughts on any of my ponderings and/or more?
So now I'm going to peruse the friends list, then I'll probably rewatch SPN, and start thinking about the All Hell Breaks Loose choose your own adventure I'm going to be writing.
