How long was Dean with the Djinn? How long was Sam looking for him? Do we know?
After Dean figures out what's going on, he says, "The Djinn will drain the life out of me in a couple of days." Presuming Dean was correct (and the illusion of his mother doesn't deny it, she just says it will feel like a lifetime), then Sam couldn't have been looking for him for long.
