Supernatural is currently recording and I will begin watching in another fifteen minutes as I hate commercials. Yay for Supernatural. And then double yay for sleep!
In the meantime, I was tagged by
yahtzee63 for the "When I Was a Kid" meme.
LIST:
1. Five bands/singers you loved.
2. Five songs you loved.
3. Five TV shows you watched.
4. Five movies you were obsessed with.
5. Five people you want to answer this, too.
1. I have to admit that I had the weirdest taste in music as a kid (okay, I still do). And that most of these I still love because I'm that big of a dork.
Bruce Springsteen - I've loved him since I was five years old. I think this is due to my much older brothers, but I'm cool with that.
Carpenters - My dad used to play the Easy Listening/Oldies stations in the car and I grew to love the Carpenters a whole lot. we would sing along as we drove to my soccer games.2
Barry Manilow - dude. My mom had his music on eight track and I would choreograph my own dances to his stuff when I was four/five years old. "I'm coming out of a shell...out of a shell..."
Rick Springfield - He's Rick Springfield, my friends. He sang "Jesse's Girl." And he used to be uber cute.
New Kids on teh Block - Oh, Joey McIntyre. You and I were supposed to be married by now, wearing matching Irish Power denim jackets at the ceremony.
2. Five songs that I loved...hhhmmmm...
"Only In My Dreams" Debbie Gibson (yeah, that's right. I had the hats to prove my love of Debbie)
"Manic Monday" Bangles
"Daybreak" Barry Manilow (I *still* love this song)
"Footloose"
"Thriller" - I was like Jen Garner's character in 13 Going on 30 with that dance and I loved the video.
3.
Family Ties - MIchael J. Fox was just...I loved him. When I was eight, I formed a fan club for him called the Hot Foxes.
Silver Spoons - Ricky! The little toy train that went around the house! (Is it sad that I have the first season on dvd?)
Little House on the Prairie - I loved this show. I loved the books, but the show had much cuter boys. Oh Albert, I was in love with you when I was eight.
Brady Bunch - I would watch the Brady Bunch reruns all the time. They used to play them on every channel during the day and it was just...love. Awesome cheesiness.
Growing Pains - I feel dirty now since Kirk Cameron is all buckets of crazy, but I loved Mike Seaver and his family.
4. I was nine when we got our first VCR and I remember my dad never wanted me and my sister to touch it, but my mother couldn't figure it out so we would have to do it ourselves when he wasn't around...it was teh best invention ever.
Goonies - The Chunk Shuffle! Mikey and Brand (my brother love started way young)
Dirty Dancing - I kept that movie out of the video store FOREVER!
Princess Bride - I used to get this movie when I was sick from the video store. It was a favorite.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off - I loved Matthew Broderick in this movie. I loved Cameron. And okay, I still do love this movie.
Monster Squad - Cute boys fighting monsters! (Again, a love that started young.) Plus, how can you not love a movie with lines like, "Wolfman has nards!"
