I've been reading a lot about how much people seem to have disliked this past episode of Battlestar Galatica...

I enjoyed this last episode myself. From my obsessed fangirl point of view, there wasn't nearly enough of Lee and the "on the run" look tends to work for him, but aside from that I have no qualms.

I did like the little bits we did see of Lee and the President on the run. Wow, Zarek was an ass about how he let Lee know that his father was not only awake, but back in command. Then him coercing Lee into making a public denoucement of his father. Ouch. I'm glad that Lee ended up not doing the tape. I understood what he was saying for the recording, sure to add that he loved his father, but that would've made the rift between the two of them impossible to bridge, I think.

I also liked that Roslin finally owned up to how she was playing the religious card. Because that's one of the things that bothered me about her in the past. Admit that you're using religion as a way to hold onto control of the people - no matter what her motivation, she is using their need for hope in that manner.

Then, on the Kara front. I enjoyed the whole storyline and agree with [livejournal.com profile] themonkeycabal that all of the information isn't so much revelations as additional information on things we already learned. The whole breeding farm was upsetting, but makes sense in that we're well aware that the Cylons will go to any length to do what they see as "god's will." The Cylons also see all the humans as wastes, taking for granted what they were easily given and the Cylons had to fight for it.

I could've lived without the realistic touch of the cylon's bleeding when Starbuck stabbed him though. Just ew. I'm a weak-stomached girl, okay? I like my blood and stabbings as fake as Pamela Anderson's breasts.

And this episode reinforced one of the things I love about Starbuck. We got to see both her more vulnerable side that she likes to keep hidden - she does have a breaking point, she is human and subject to all those emotions. But, we also see how strong she is. She's still alert enough to figure out that something is up and to stop taking the meds they're feeding her. She doesn't know that the others are coming for her and she doesn't wait around for that chance. She initiates her *own* escape. Sure, it helps that the resistance shows up when they do, but I like to think Kara would've gone down fighting.

Basically, it was an interesting look at things on Caprica and what the Cylons are up to. This friday will be all the more intriguing with the return to Kobol and hopefully much more Lee. Because, at the end of the day, I am just a Jaime Bamber fangirl.

With the multiverse story finished and turned in, I've been doing a little bit of writing on other fandom-type things, including people's birthday stories. However, yesterday I was waylaid by the news that we now had 100 icons to play with and have spent many hours uploading new icons. Still have more to fill too. So basically, if anyone wants to make me an early birthday gift (August 28th - that should be on y'all's calendars by now, surely) of an icon, I wouldn't say no to it. Nope, not me. Wink, wink.

Not to mention, [livejournal.com profile] sdlucly has pointed out that with all the plot bunnies I fill her head with, I have to write this one I had for The O.C.. Seth/Ryan angst out the wazoo, if I decide to write it.

And then, and then, GOD, I want to write some Shawn POV angst from 4400. I need that like a hole in the head. Dear fandoms, stop breaking me down until I write for you, love, tommy.

I shall pimp it, because I can:

-[livejournal.com profile] quillandink's Round Robin is still going on. I know a lot of you write original works too. So go add onto it, even if you're not a member (it's my community, so I give you permision), as much/little as you want.

-The Paperback Swap - I know some of you are avid readers like myself. And this is really nifty. You just exchange one of your read paperbacks for a new one. Love this place. It's almost as great as the library book sales.

So long for now!

Ciao!

My present to you may be quite belated because my computer is still in NC. I will make something for you, though. I promise.

Dude, I'm in this writing rush from knowing EXACTLY what I want to happen in Yelling up until the very end. So, if I'm writing this for you, so you can weep and be happy (ironic, isn't it?) then you totally have to write me something. *giggles*

Icons will be made for you, babe, totally just give me a couple of days. *eg* You'll love them.
