the way I pass my hour...

Okay, I lied. I’m not writing because I’m evil and lazy and a procrastinator of the greatest power. (Insert evil cackles here)
Instead, I shall post and spam and all sorts of other fun things until I get to leave for the day and go home. I’m going to run to the library, grab some terribly unhealthy food, and then hunker down in my apartment with a “do not disturb” sign.
Anyway, that interview meme is going around again. I love nothing more than answering questions about myself – I’m just that self-absorbed – and babbling on incoherently for many minutes. So yes, ask me questions, people...and if you want questions, leave a comment and I’ll ask you some.
Questions from
vibrantharmony:
1. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? This is an easy one…pizza. I love pizza. I don’t care that it’s a caloric bomb or an evil carb! I love it so.
2. What brought you into fandom? (this or any other one) Hhhhhmmm…I guess my first real online fandom was Nsync. Up until that point, I only used the internet to email with friends at different schools and to do research. Then Nsync came along and my sister taught me about this thing called EGroups and that’s when I discovered fandom…I guess I stick around because it’s nice to have likeminded people to squee with about different things and to share fanfiction and photos and general thoughts with.
3. If you could follow a celebrity around for a day, who would you choose?
Ben Affleck! I love that boy! And with this question, I could avoid a restraining order being filed against me.
4. What is your most embarrassing dream? I don’t really know that I have many embarrassing dreams – or if I do, I’ve blocked them out and don’t recall. Maybe embarrassing in the sense that I’ve had dreams where I’ve been so angry with someone that when I wake up it’s still there…and then it is slightly embarrassing to apologize and explain how your inappropriate anger began.
5. If you were an ad agency for the place where you live, what you advertise as its best feature? Ooohhh…interesting question. I mean, I think our old governor said it best in all those commercials, “New Jersey and you…perfect together.” It’s best feature would probably be its location (definitely wouldn’t mention the Turnpike EVER) – Jersey is an easy traveling distance to New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, even DC. Not many places can claim that sort of access to so many metropolitan areas – and you can do it all on the same train (the Metroliner!)

With the question section done for the time being, I shall now do the latest writing meme going around…

Writers
1. Which story that you have written is your favorite? My favorite thus far? Reinventions, Nsync (JC-centric), a retelling of the movie Sabrina as a fanfic. It was a pain to write, especially the original female character because she is so incredibly different from me…but yeah, I still like to reread that story from time to time…and I don’t squirm too much.
2. Which means the most to you? Two Weeks - it’s by no means the best story I’ve ever written, but it was my first fanfiction that I ever wrote. Completing it was a huge success for me, especially since I hadn’t been writing much of anything for about a year prior to posting that story (talk about a writing slump) – and by posting it, it introduced me to some fabulous people that I still call friend to this day.
3. Which do you feel is 'the best'? That I’m not sure about because writing is such a pendulum sort of undertaking, constantly moving back and forth between mediocrity and greatness. But uh…it’s based off such a cheesy show (That I love), but I’m very fond of The Proposal, which is a One Tree Hill, Naley story that
girlatmirror asked me to write. It turned out really well.
4. Which do you dislike the most? This is so easy!
iamtheenemy might try to mention the name “Gregger” but as that has never been posted…uh…it’s this story called “The Boyfriend Swap.” I’m not even posting the link because I hate it that much. It was just so damn…cheesy…stupid…and really bad.
Readers
1. What is your favorite fandom? Favorite fandom for reading is how I’m going to approach this. It changes, depending on my mood or events within the canon, but overall, I always go back to Sports Night. I love most of the usual writers in that fandom, and I never tire of stories about that show.
2. Which story in that fandom is your favorite? Don’t do this to me! Not just one...there are many for different reasons. Instead, I will link you to my big damn table for
rec50, where I’m reccing 50 Sports Night stories. Yeah, it’s my idea of fandom diplomacy...http://www.livejournal.com/users/storydivagirl/130898.html
3. What is your favorite story outside of that fandom? I’m going with My Little Mary, and not just to make Steph cringe, but because I still enjoy that damn story. It’s Nsync, Chris-centric with a play on the whole best friends cliché, but I love it for what it is – melodramatic romance. And I also happen to love that during her publishing of that was when she and I started chatting a lot…and how would the world be different without us two slackers uniting all the time.

What 5 major events on any of your shows caused you to become enraged?
1. Buffy – the whole Spike attempting to rape Buffy in season six.
2. Joan of Arcadia – Adam Rove cheating on Joan. That would…that SHOULD NOT have happened. The Adam that fans came to love would never have done that. He worshipped Joan. (I’m not still bitter or anything...)
3. Alias – Michael Vaughn marrying someone else. You know what, I could’ve tolerated a lot with that storyline, but dude, she had been gone TWO YEARS and you were already MARRIED. Not just dating or involved…and you didn’t even wait more than six months before dating Lauren. And then his whole treatment of both Sydney and Lauren was…grrr…
4. Angel – I don’t know that enraged is the correct word, so much as sickened, but the whole Cordy Season Four storyline, where they demolished her character to bits and she had sex with Connor. Ew.
5. Charmed – most of this current season leaves me feeling this way…

Finally, since my last hour is almost up as I worked on this and talked with co-workers, I leave you with some quick pimpage...
-It's not too late to sign up for

-There is a new community called
whatif_fic. It's multifandom and once every couple of weeks there will be a prompt that's a what if question...then you write fic as the answer. Sounds very intriguing! So go join and write some great fic.

quillandink is my writing/challenges community where pimping of all fandom/original fiction challenges occurs as well as prompts and round robins. Check it out!

Date: 2005-10-29 11:47 pm (UTC)Awww, thanks! Even though the story would have been a bazillion times better if you had beta-ed it for me in the first place. At the very least, you would have stopped me from getting all Fictionlyn about the "raw" and "masculine" and "soul" shit that
And yes, my life would not be nearly as awesome as it is without you there. At the very least, all my writing would really, completely, totally, absolutely filled with tediously-placed adverbs and just crawling with "justs." :)
Now you have to start watch CSI and everything will be good.
