tommygirl: (oc - seth/ryan hug)

[livejournal.com profile] cricketkate wanted Seth/Ryan from The O.C.

Seth picked up the remote and shut off the television and DVD player as the credits began to roll. He leaned back on the sofa, released the yawn he’d been trying to stifle for over an hour, and stated, “That was the worst movie I think I ever seen. And I saw On the Line last year with Summer so that’s telling you something.”

“You saw On the Line?” Ryan replied.

Seth rolled his eyes. “I worry about what you deem important when I talk, Ryan.”

Ryan stretched out on the floor and said, “I plain worry about you.”

Seth started to reply to the comment when a horrendous realization hit him. Ryan actually liked the movie, didn’t he? Oh god. This was not good.

As if reading his mind, Ryan stood himself up and hovered over Seth with a nervous look. He said, “Seth, you’ve got the panicked look on your face again.”

“That’s because I am panicked, my friend. Quite panicked, in fact.”

“Oh no.”

“You liked that movie.”

Ryan shrugged and shot Seth one of his you’re-really-fixating-on-this looks before responding, “It was okay.”

“Dude. No. It was terrible. There was...it had...no one should have to see Richard Gere shirtless. I’m scarred for life. For life, Ryan.”

“I could kiss it and make it better.”

“Nice try, but we’ve got bigger problems than my potential emotional wounds.”

Ryan fell down on the sofa next to Seth. He grabbed onto Seth’s hand and said, “You’re being insane. It was Pretty Woman, Seth. It's a romantic comedy from the eighties, not a test of our relationship.”

“Isn’t it though? I mean, you liked it. You liked a movie about a hooker with a heart of gold. It says so much about you, doesn’t it? How you like drama, practically thrive on it. You like the girls that you have to fix and save. Girls like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman or Marissa Cooper.”

“Last time I checked you weren’t a girl,” Ryan replied.

"So not the point, dude."

"And I don't care about Marissa, not that like. I chose you, remember," Ryan said. Seth pretended not to notice the husky tone Ryan’s voice took on as Ryan’s fingers ran along the skin on Seth’s palm. Seth would not be distracted. He was going to make his point, dammit.

“Exactly. I’m not a girl, Ryan, and I don’t need saving. See the problem?”

“Not really.”

“You’ll get tired of this...us...because I don’t need you to take care of my no good pimp.”

“Uh...what?”

“I’m too normal.”

Normal isn’t a word that I would ever use to describe you.”

“Don’t placate me. This is serious. I’m boring.”

Ryan chuckled. Totally not the response that Seth was looking for. Then, in a movement so quick it could’ve been missed, Ryan had Seth on top of him and was kissing him, allowing his tongue to wander along Seth’s jaw and neck. Ryan pulled back after a moment and said, “I don’t want someone I have to save. I just want you.”

In that moment, as Ryan’s hands ran under Seth’s shirt and kneaded into his back, Seth was pretty sure he would agree to anything. Ryan...being with Ryan...was all that mattered right then. Even if it wasn’t meant to last because Seth had no penchants for shop lifting or drunken breakdowns, Seth could enjoy what they had right then. It was enough for him.

Seth kissed Ryan, allowing his own hands to wander to Ryan’s hips. He whispered, “You think you’re so smooth.”

“I’m definitely the Richard Gere in this relationship.”

Seth shuddered. “Ew. Gross. Awful image. Get out of my head. Out! Think Superman, Seth. Or Batman. Think happy thoughts.”

Ryan rolled his eyes. He pulled Seth closer to him, their bodies rubbing up against one another, and he said, “I’m not going to leave you, Seth. I promise.”

Seth smiled. He didn’t respond because there was nothing left to say. He knew Ryan meant it. And maybe Ryan was finally through with his savior phase in relationships...otherwise Seth would have to develop himself an eating disorder or gambling addiction somewhere down the road. Whatever it took to keep things just like this for the rest of their lives.

eeeek! I completely forgot that I asked for a ficlet. And I so rarely check replies to my comments.

So I suck in my lateness to say THANK YOU!

Ryan! Seth!
