why isn't today friday?

I was home sick yesterday with the evilness that is the head cold. Is there anything more dastardly? I think not. I mean, part of the reason I allowed the doctors to rip my tonsils out many years ago was to avoid sore throats. It's not right that I can still get a sore throat, people. God needs to work on that.
The good part of yesterday was that I curled up in bed and slept and watched all the episodes of Veritas: The Quest. Oh my god. It's such a lame show that sort of steals from everything from Tomb Raider to Da Vinci Code, but it's GREATNESS. Sort of like Smallville but without the pretty but rather nerdy history/archeology/theology information. It's good stuff. Alas, since only like three people watched the four episodes that were aired, it's hard to share the squee and/or locate any fanfiction. Cry me a river, my friends.
I also watched the boys perform on American Idol. It wasn't the best week for the boys overall, but gah. I love Ace and Chris no matter what. And Elliot, even though he looks like Curious George, has such a good voice that he must stick around. I know everyone loves Taylor and he does have a good voice, but DUDE, he SCARES me. Like almost as much as clowns. Like if I was told that I had to spend the afternoon with either a clown or Taylor, I might actually choose the clown. That's how much he scares me.
And have I mentioned that Ace is pretty? So pretty. He can stick around for a bit longer. I don't want him to win (based off what's occurred so far I'd love for the final three to be Katharine, Mandiza, and Chris), but he must stick around much longer. Also, if Kevin manages to stick around another week, I'm just going to kill someone. We get it. You all think he's adorable. Whatever. He lisps when he sings, people. It drives me crazy.
finally I love Simon. I almost always agree with Simon. So I'm sick of Paula and Randy being all "Oh shut up, Simon. Obviously you don't realize that Kevin is a unique snowflake!" ::kills someone::

I saw this in
medie's journal:
The Mash-Up Meme
The requirements are as follows:
1. Give me a cross-over of two fandoms from different media: for instance, a book with a TV show, a movie with a book, etc.
2. Then give me a pairing or a main character and a rating.
3. Give me a word # requirement between 500 and 5000
4. Then give me four phrases that MUST be included in the fic
Tommygirl's Rule: Post whatever you want, but if I don't know the fandoms, it's not going to happen, but I'm willing to give this a go for any I know. Of course, this is on my time line and y'all know how I work (hee). I also see RPS as a different media than tv, so uh...that could be weird and interesting.

highwaymiles
It's a car-centric challenge that's taking prompts right now. Even if you don't plan to participate, even if you don't write, you can go suggest prompts to be used for the challenge. Multifandom. It's open to porn, gen, het, slash, rps, whatever you can think of.
estrella30 is easy like my mom.
So what are you waiting for
highwaymiles. My mind is running amuck with several Jensen/Jared scenarios. It's a sickness.

Now I'm off to read some fic and wish away the remainder of the day.
Ciao.

Date: 2006-03-09 12:40 pm (UTC)Hmm. 1500 words and, for Seth/Ben:
1. You look familiar.
2. My name's Seth Cohen.
3. Hmm. I'm an actor.
4. I like how you smile.
Silly and kinda pathetic, I know. *giggles*
Ryan/Harry, a little bit longer, 3k:
1. You aren't from the UK, are you?
2. I'm not sure how I can answer that question
3. A friend of mine always says dude
4. Harry. Just Harry.
There. I think that's about enough. *bounces*

Date: 2006-03-09 01:45 pm (UTC)I simply DON'T GET the Taylor love. I think he's, quite frankly, insane. I see nothing about him that is appealing to a wide audience, and everything about him that is cheesy and not in a good way. So...no. He is not getting my vote, nor is chicken little. WTF is all I have to say about him.
