I take tv too seriously, I think...

What's a girl to do when Supernatural is in repeats? Aside from ingesting every piece of good fanfic she can get her hands on, she takes to rewatching her dvds of the first 16 episodes over and over and over. Me, obsessive? Who would have thunk it?
If I'm having trouble making it a couple weeks, I fear how I'll feel come summer. Usually, I'm pretty good at making it through tv haituses (though the season 2 cliffhanger of Alias nearly killed me dead!), but ugh. I've grown quite attached to these boys.

In other television viewing:
A part of me is still ready to give this show up. They freaking KILLED Tony! How could they do that to me? I mean, President Palmer...fine. Michelle...I'll miss you, but fine. Edgar and Lynn...whatever. But Tony? I'm not sure I can handle that. I love Tony too much, man. I love Tony almost as much as I love Jack, and that's a whole freaking lot.
This season is just killing me.
It's good stuff though. And these writers are still the best at redeeming unlikeable characters right before they kick the bucket.
But is this the last season? Because how much more can Jack take? Even if he survives the twenty-four hours, he's going to be a bit broken. His closest friends are dead and his daughter wants nothing to do with him.
Of course, if anything were to happen to Jack, I wouldn't watch anymore. Yeah, 24 is a great action show, really well done. But as usual, I'm a character girl. I latch onto certain characters and I will see everything through with them (see Buffy in season six, which wasn't my fave), but once that character is gone? I lose interest.
Also, next week that guy is on the loose in CTU. My co-worker and I have decided that he will kidnap Kim before she gets out of the place. For two reasons: 1) she hasn't been kidnapped this season and that's like law. I mean, she gets kidnapped in the video game for god's sake! 2) this guy knows that Jack would take him down no matter what, willing to sacrifice anyone except Kim. And if this guy was willing to let his wife be killed, I doubt his love for Kim will stop him from using her to get out of CTU and away from Jack.
But I guess we'll see.
This show kills me, man. It's like I need to meditate just to bring my heart rate down after an episode.
Let's go one at a time through the performances (these may be out of order because my brain is mush)
1) Ace: Terrible song choice, he was a bit off, and he seems to think he's Justin Timberlake's clone with those dance moves. But please, Justin is one of a kind and until I've seen Ace Young hump a wall ala Justin in the Gone video, I'm just not ready for Ace to behave that way. But he is still pretty. So very pretty. And that butt. And those eyes. And that smile. Raar. I voted for him a few times just because of prettiness.
Results Show Note: How the hell was he in the bottom three? I mean, I hope that Randy and Simon are right and Ace takes this as a wake-up call to pick better songs that people want to hear. And maybe he should avoid saying things like, "I went to this Daniel Bedingfield concert with my brother..." But really, still...bottom three? He was not one of the three worst performances! ::Glares at Kevin:: ::plans Kevin's demise::
2) Kellie: Honestly, I think this was her best performance thus far, but she's still not in the same league as the other girls (or most of the guys) in the competition. She does have the cute factor going for her and has more of a following than some of the others...so who knows?
Results Show Note: I'm totally fine with her not having been in the bottom three this week. She needs to go soon though.
3) Elliot: I love my little Curious George lookalike. I love his voice. I love his simpleness when performing. Not his best performance - he's done Stevie better in the past, but he didn't stink up the stage like some people. He's consistently good. But yeah, he's not a "wow" person. Still...he better stick around for awhile.
Results Show Note: After the Ace/Kevin debacle, I was ready to freak out if Melissa was safe and Elliot wasn't. I would've thrown the television out the window. And this is why I didn't watch last year, people. Because I get too involved and it's a sickness...but already got sucked in again this year. I blame my new roommate.
4) Mandisa: I love her so much. The whole Ryan taking off her shoes thing was really creepy, but dude, she's got a set of pipes on her...and even when she's not at her best, she's still fan-freaking-tastic.
Results Show Note: I kept getting right through for her when I voted and that freaked me out...so I voted about twenty times for Mandisa. I'm a sad girl.
5) Melissa: She looked really pretty in the dress. Her performance was okay. I do think she has a nice voice, but the problem with her is that the girls who are good are really good and she doesn't compare to that.
Results Show Note: Sad to see her go because it SHOULD'VE BEEN KEVIN! God, I hate that kid. I didn't hate him before the final twelve. I was amused by him - thought he was a cute kid, but that he wasn't a good singer. But it's gotten out of control. THat little bitch needs to go home...NOW. But yeah, farewell Melissa. She didn't seem surprised by it.
6) Bucky: I teeter back and forth between thinking Bucky is adorable and being frightened of him. The feathered hair needs to go, but he wasn't as horrible as I expected considering the theme of Stevie Wonder.
Results Show Note: He got more votes than Ace and Lisa? Really? Who the hell is voting for him - does he get the mullet rock voters?
7) Taylor: He scares me. Yes, he can sing, but he freaking scares me. If I saw him on the street, I'd run in the opposite direction.
Results Show Note: Safe and that's not surprising. He can sing and he has a following. But please let him go home at some point, it hurts me to watch him "dance."
8) Kevin: Grrr...you are my arch-enemy, Kevin. You and your twelve-year-old fanbase. I will stop you if it's the last thing I do. First, his song choice scarred me. I don't want to hear about a twelve-year old boy with a "part time lover" and he kept emphasizing the word "lover"...upsetting. And then just the fact that he's there to begin with. Ugh. I hate you. Irrational, yes, but it's there all the same. Go home before I start coming after you with my tennis racket of doom.
Results Show Note: No, seriously, he's not even in the bottom three? People like him that much? Can we please take away the cellphones of the tweenies who are voting for him? He lisps when he sings. And he's not that cute. Paula Abdul and her crazy "unique snowflake" spiels just made y'all believe that.
9) Lisa: She has a great voice. She's adorable. But she seems much more like someone who could be a Broadway diva rather than an American Idol. And I think that might be part of the reason she doesn't have the same fanbase. But dude, if there was ever the Broadway Diva reality show, she would kick ass and take names. (And really there should be such a show. I'd watch it, anyway.)
Results Show Note: In a way, I'm not surprised she was in the bottom three, not like I was surprised by Ace being there. Because she doesn't seem to have the fanbase that the others do. But still. Dude, this is a singing competition, right? (::pretends she didn't vote for Ace just because he's pretty::)
10) Katharine: I love Katharine. I loved her since the beginning and I will love her to the end (She's going to make it to the final two, dagnabit!). However, her dress was hideous. I couldn't stop staring at the dress, it was a mesmerizing type of ugly. But she kicked butt again and that makes me happy.
Results Show Note: She was safe and that's the way it should be.
11) Paris: She's so freaking cute. I want to put her in a shoebox under my bed, that's how cute she is. And the girl can sing and perform. She does both really well. Love her.
Results Show Note: Again, safe and that's the way it should be.
12) Chris: GAH! My AI boyfriend! Gah! He's totally my rocker type. I loved him since the first week, but when he came out and did Fuel? Oh my heart. He has the type of voice that I love more than anything and he knows how to perform. He's the only one in this group that if he was having a concert right now...I'd go. I'd pay to see him cover other people's songs. Because he's really good and he has such stage presence...and HOT. And how adorable is it the way he talks about his kids suddenly being popular in school...that's so cute!
Results Show Note: Dude. The day Chris is kicked off is the day I throw my television out the window. I love him far too much.
I would like to know why they decided to have Stevie Wonder night? Was it just so we would have to hear Randy blather on after every song, "YOu know Stevie is my boy...and no one can do him justice..."
::kills Randy::
And how many drugs was Paula on this past week? I realize that she has RSD (My roommate has that) and the drugs for that are pretty potent, but wow. She was blazing on Tuesday night.
Overall, it was enjoyable. Stevie Wonder is a hard person to pick and do amazingly well.
But really, who wants to see Bucky and Chris have to perform on Disco Night? Hee-hee.

Not much else to report. I got sucked into these young adult books by Scott Westerfeld. It's a trilogy that starts with The Uglies, followed by The Pretties, and now I'm waiting the last few weeks until the last book in the series, The Specials comes out. Don't let the name fool you. It's really intriguing. Set around the idea of a utopia, where everyone on his/her 16 birthday becomes pretty...but things aren't as perfect as it seems. The books are quick, easy reads, but enjoyable. I started the one and couldn't put it down.
I should be writing. Should be finishing up my remix. I'm not. Maybe I'll work on it today. Yesterday was hell in the office, but today seems a bit better.

Date: 2006-03-16 08:55 am (UTC)And my heart stopped when Ace was in the bottom three. No, he isn't the strongest singer, but he doesn't deserve to be in the bottom three. Why is Kevin still safe???
As for Bucky, it's the NC vote. We take care of our own. And he's really trying. I'm proud of him.
And Chris is so cool. I'd so buy his CD just like I did Bo's.:)
