Further proof that the house I'm living in currently is out to get me...I fell down the front stairs and screwed up my back. Now, this is nowhere near as bad as the fall I took two summers ago in Chiles parking lot where I ended up with two sprained wrists and two sprained ankles, but it's definitely one of the worse falls of my day. And I've had many. I mean, if you look up the word klutz in the dictionary, there is a huge photograph of me.

So yes, in utter and horrendous pain and my doctor can't see me until tomorrow and I really didn't want to go to the Emergency Room, so I'm waiting until tomorrow to see him. In the meantime, I'm just weeping and gripping my back and using a heat pad at work like I'm freaking eighty.

Damn house!

Damn klutzy feet!

**

Needless to say, I've been far too busy whining and complaining about woe the pain to do any writing. I really need to change that. I'm behind already on the April Fools challenge and that's not how I wanted to start. I've got to write 28K this month. I did it last year, so I know it can be done. I just have to actually sit down and do it.

Anyway, since I'm doing April Fools, I figure, if any of you have any ficlet requests that you want to see, comment and I'll see what I can do. I'm not promising anything definite, but if your prompt strikes me, it will probably get done as I need the word count. Also, for those who didn't get their lyric or valentine's ficlets yet, those will get done this month as well. Figure anything that helps my word count.

[livejournal.com profile] medie and [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy: The things I was sending out to you guys went out in the mail this afternoon, so keep a lookout for them.

So Remix authors have been revealed and I'll do another post with my story and such. Once again the stories were all amazing and [livejournal.com profile] musesfool rocks the house for running it so well. The only downside for me? The person I wrote for never sent feedback or mentioned it in her livejournal. Makes me sad. And a bit peeved. But what can you do?

ooh YAY!

And ugh, I get peeved myself. I killed myself writing a fill-in for a ficathon not too long ago and posted the results multiple places and to this day have heard *BUPKIS* on it. So I'm peeved and a little freaked too. It's like "did it suck? was it that bad?" which, naturally, plays right into me fighting to write an Alias one for someone else. It's just...gah a little courtesy? Put a girl at ease.

Soon you will have Veritas the entire series to watch...and then I can beg for fic. Hee.

And that's exactly it. I have no clue if she liked it. If she even read it. If it sucked terribly. But ya know what, a simple "thank you" would be nice...but gah. Not going to get upset about it.

Sympathetic ow. I don't fall down things much (just over. Sometimes from a standing start, which takes special skill), but I do hit myself in the face with the kitchen cabinets on a regular basis. Why do they put them at eye level anyway?

Not getting a thank-you for your remix must be very disappointing (of course, I'm paranoid about feedback at the best of times). Luckily, my remix-ee seems happy with what I did with her fic.

Yeah, I have this ability to hurt myself...it's a talent of mine.

And I loved the fic you wrote. I recced it over at [livejournal.com profile] polyfandomrecs before I knew who did it and now added authors. But yeah, just a simple "thank you" would be nice.

Thank you for the rec - I'm glad you enjoyed the fic. BJ provided the framework, I just filled in the blanks, but I think between us we did a pretty good job (if it's not, you know, too pushy to say so). Plus, I got a really great icon out of it!

Oh, it's not pushy. It was good stuff. And cool icons are always awesome!

Oh, honey. The same thing happened to me the last time I did a remix, and I thought it was going to happen again this time around, which is what prompted my rather bitter post (http://novembersnow.livejournal.com/287111.html) about feedbacking one's remixer last week. (In the end, I did get a very nice review from my remixee over the weekend, which was a huge relief, but I was ready to throw in the towel as far as such challenges go.)

You know, I think some people just don't understand the concept of courtesy online--like, if you can't see the person, it means you don't have to be gracious. These people are morons.

Is it possible he/she/it has been away and just didn't get a chance to read the fic?

I don't know if the person has been on vacation, as she has updated her livejournal, but I guess it's possible she's been busy and hasn't had a chance to read. It still just stinks and that's probably because this isn't the first time it's happened to me in the past couple of months. The person I wrote yuletide for never commented either. I guess I have bad mojo. Hee.

There ought to be a central fandom database of people who don't even offer the courtesy of a response in such fic exchanges, and they should not be allowed to participate in any more of them. Like, if you can't play nicely with the other kids, you're not allowed to go outside for recess at all. It sucks that some people don't even give a damn that their carelessness makes others feel bad. *pets* Believe me, I know exactly how you feel right now.

Ooh, that sucks. :( Having had a fall that has apparently permanently damaged my back, I can relate. I hate stairs, they're the devil. Even though my worst fall took place in a Barnes & Noble parking lot. lol

I hope the doctor can do something and that you feel better soon. Back pain is horrible.

Dude, my worst fall took place in the parking lot of the Battleship New Jersey. The irony being that throughout touring the battleship with the small ladders and such, everyone was like, "Be careful, klutzy" and I was perfectly fine. Get in the parking lot and BAM. Messed myself up.

But yes, luckily my doctor is good to me and called in an anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxer this morning, so soon I will at least be drugged into a stupor. Hee.

Drugged stupors can be quite nice. ;)

I've been to Battleship Texas, and did mostly the same thing and survived. All the climbing and ladders and small spaces, with intense cramps at the time, I might add. You would think that would make it harder to concentrate, but I was fine. I also managed not to fall off the ferry to Galveston. hee

I've had my fair share of bad accidents though. Being clumsy is a terrifying day-to-day existence. ;)

The same thing happened to me two years ago. That's why I haven't participated since. I got an exclusively-slash writer so it was darn difficult to write. But I don't think it was too bad.

Anyway, did you say "ficlet request"? *Pulls out sheet* Well, I do have a few ideas if it'll help with your word count.

1) Wyatt and Dean discuss fighting evil and little brothers who want to be normal. If you feel ambitious, a companion piece with Dean and Chris would be loverly as well.

2) Something Paige or Piper-related. Fighting evil, getting to know each other (canonly or in my AU).

3) Sam being all psychic-like or Dean developing powers.

Hope it helps to spark the muse.:)

Dude, I'm definitely doing the first one for you - for helping me with the layout! Two and three, I will give a try too because you know I love those fandoms. hee.

It's just...even if you don't like it, say "thank you." I received some pieces in the past that weren't exactly something I liked, but I appreciated the effort and made that known to the author. Also, if you don't have time to read it for awhile, at least comment with something like that, "Can't wait to read it when things calm down" so the writer doesn't go into self-loathe mode.

Some people are just mean, I've decided.

Yay! More stories to read.:)

I agree. "Thank you" isn't that difficult to write. I don't understand people who don't have that kind of manners.
