tommygirl: (devishly egg)
I actually finished my Remix story and got it to my betas. Sure, I haven't given them much time, but hopefully they can look it over and let me know if it completely sucks. Which, it just might considering that I had hoped to have the weekend to really work on it, but other things occurred that took up my time.

Le sigh.

**

I still have much to do in the fandom world. A few birthday stories to complete, a few ficlet requests, and one more ficathon story to churn out. (I'm trying to ignore the WIP folder on my computer as it depresses me and I know that I'm driving a few people insane with the wait...yeah, sorry, my friends. I suck, I know) Oh, how do I get myself into these writing dilemmas and why is it that when I have certain things to write, my muse goes in a completely different direction?

::stares at her Chase/Cameron fic and cries::

I really want to write some JoA fic right now. I haven't written much recently and that saddens me.

Since I wasn't around throughout the weekend, I seem to have flaked on the rest of Fanfic Author Appreciation Week. So I'll try to finish it up with the last three names...but please realize this, if you're on my friends list and you write fic, I enjoy it. You wouldn't be here otherwise (blessing or curse, I'll let you decide)...and if I don't mention your name, I don't mean it as an affront on anyone or their writing.

Quick pimpage:

Everyone should go read the Sarkney story that was written for me for the Sarkney Ficathon. The Was, The Is, and the Will Be by [livejournal.com profile] quiet_rebel. It rocks. A lot. Totally worth the wait!

Also, if y'all are interested in writing/reading drabbles, check out [livejournal.com profile] medie's Anonymous Drabble Post. Go read, enjoy, leave feedback for the authors, and write if so compelled.

I'm off to do some writing (if possible) once I get through the last of the work in my in-bin. I hope everyone has a great day.

FANFIC AUTHOR'S APPRECIATION WEEK - MARCH 6 THROUGH MARCH 13

Post to your LJ each day at least one of your favorite fanfic authors and why you love them, their work, and why they need more appreciation.

Day Six

I went with [livejournal.com profile] rachel_wilder because not only is she a good friend to have in any fandom (even if she refuses to share Matthew Fox with me) or that she shares my love of Joan and Kevin bonding in Joan of Arcadia stories, but because she writes amazingly well. Any fandom that she undertakes, it’s obvious that she has a love for the characters and the universe. She manages to build on it in wondrous ways.

She’s written Party of Five, Dark Angel, X-Files, and Joan of Arcadia fiction that fills me with love for the characters that I’m attached to.
Plus, maybe if more people go read her Five Stages WIP for JoA, she’ll update sooner...hee.

So check out her website: The Wilder Side

Day Seven

The person I chose for the seventh day was [livejournal.com profile] yahtzee because she writes these amazing stories that are filled with things that I’ll never be able to do. I’m very much envious of her able to cull out these outrageous plots and not only make them believable, but pull them off brilliantly. She writes in several fandoms that I adore including Alias, Lost and Joan of Arcadia to name a few.

I have yet to stumble upon a story that I don’t like or immediately get sucked into. She knows her characters and she knows how to get them to do almost anything without it seeming unlikely.

Some of my favorites include “Goodnight, Moon” (JoA), “Irenicon” (Alias), and “Inhabited by Winter” (Harry Potter) but check out all the stories.

There are several other writers that I think everyone should read though. [livejournal.com profile] dragonsinger writes amazing original characters into her stories and her Adult!Wyatt in charmed fandom is hard to beat. [livejournal.com profile] ladybug218 writes wonderful stories in several different fandoms that always make me squee and giggle and brings a smile to my face. If it weren’t for the writings/graphics of [livejournal.com profile] literarylemming I’m not sure that I would’ve discovered the wonders that is Domilie. I admire [livejournal.com profile] zeplum for already tackling the fandom of BSG2003 with such skill – while I sit in the corner, hiding from the bunnies because I’ll never do them justice like she and so many others already do.

And that’s just a few off the top of my head. I’m probably missing a ton of others as well because there is so much great fic produced by so many wonderful authors all the time.
