it's only tuesday
May. 10th, 2005 10:55 amAlas, I was unable to get tickets to the Philly screening of Serenity, which my sister blames me for. Grr...I tried to point out that if it weren't for me, she wouldn't have even known such a thing was occurring. Dammit.
Oh well, I guess I will simply have to amuse myself by rewatching my dvds once again.

Also finally saw the trailer for Goblet of Fire and am very excited. I know I don't really talk much about my love for Harry Potter, but it's sort of innate. I'm not so much a shipper (though good Harry/Draco always warms my heart and Harry/Oliver = yummy), but just madly in love with practically every character...you know, even when they're annoying me or not asking enough questions (Oh Harry, dear, I'm looking at you and your penchant for waiting until Dumbledore feels like sharing stuff).
I just love the stories and the characters. I love the idea of just wanting to do your best to fight for the side of good and hoping it's enough, of coming into your own and realizing that one does have some say in how his/her destiny goes, and yet, the smallest of things (distrust of a friend, worry, etc) can set in motion horrible situations.
So yay! Can't wait for the movie or the next book - though I am still trying to convince myself that I was wrong the three times I read the book and the character I love did *not* die. Oh no.

Is there a ficathon/writing challenge anonymous program out there? I think I need one. Over the next few months, I will be writing quite a few ficathon pieces. Oh Lordy. I really need to stop signing up for these things. I mean, I always enjoy them a great deal and sometimes it leads to a wonderful creation that makes me happy (aka A New Future A/U)...of course, sometimes it makes me want to pull my hair out.
And I won't even discuss the lack of attention I pay to my WIPs because of it - though in fairness...that would probably happen anyway.
That said, things have been a bit busy the past few weekends with helping friends get ready to move, mother's day, the boy being back from California, and trying to get the apartment in order. (After several months, my sister and I finally finished constructing our monster-size bookcase and finding a place for it.)
Oh woe betide!
**
Not much else to report. I'm up to my neck in access database stuff and it's driving me bloody bonkers - hence the reason I'm here.
Have a good day everyone!
And remember: it's Veronica Mars tonight! Woo-hoo! I am both excited and saddened.
