Dear Supernatural Fandom,

Just let people be, my friends. So what if someone hates Jo and says so in her journal? It's her opinion and she's allowed to express it. And hopefully she will provide you the same courtesy. Part of the fun of fandom is finding people that you share interests with, but another part of the fun is finding people who see things a little differently. Jeebus.

For the record, I like Jo. I will talk about liking Jo in my journal. However, I have no problems with other people not liking Jo. Whatever works is my motto, unless of course you harass and hurt my friends, then I will unleash a fury unknown to man...but I digress.

Can't we all just get back to the hot boys touching?

Supernatural Friday Five spn_fridayfive:

1. Do you think Sam will develop more powers beyond visions and telekenisis? I don’t know. So far the others with powers that we’ve encountered only had the one power, but that doesn’t mean they all won’t develop more with time. Though really, let’s not kill the boy with a bunch of powers he can’t control.

2. If the show were to have a famous horror movie actor/actress guest star on the show, who would you like to see? Jaime Lee Curtis for actress, though really, I think it would be so cool if Sam & Dean had a run in with Freddy Krueger of Elm Street.

3. The classic question: Sam or Dean? And why? I love them both in very different ways. I relate most to Dean and I want to do very bad things with Dean. With Sam, Jared plays the little brother thing so well, that I just want to hug him and feed him soup (even though I don’t cook) and take care of him. It’s different kinds of love and I will not choose between them.

4. In last night's episode we saw Jo's hunting skills; do you think she should join the boys on the road? Not on a permanent basis, no, but I think if she wants to actually take up hunting, she needs someone like the boys or Ash to have her back when she’s starting out. Because as good as Sam and Dean are, they’ve gotten into a lot of messes and they’ve been trained for the job since they were little…so it’s gotta be harder on your first jobs. So I would like to see them all work a case again in the future – it could be fun.

5. Do you think, if Sam knew that John was going to die in the hospital, that if he could go back and do it again he would shoot John while THE DEMON was possessing him? No, I don’t think Sam could kill his father. I just don’t think that’s something either he or Dean were capable of – and honestly, I think if the roles were reversed, I don’t think John would’ve been able to shoot one of his boys just to get to the demon either.

So I tend to use my laptop for school and work stuff, but usually don't access the wireless on it because I wouldn't get anything done. But I seem to have forgotten the password to the network set-up that my friend did for me and cannot for the life of me find the notebook where I wrote down everything he told me. Have email into him right now to see how to alleviate this...argh. I'm such a tool.

It's just been one of those days.

I watch Supernatural, but I am not in the fandom whatsoever.

Therefore, I am confused as to how people can dislike a hot girl with a shotgun, just as a general rule. :)

My best guess is because she threatens the idea that Sam & Dean could secretly be screwing. To which I say... whatever.

I'm not really in the fandom either, but from what I've seen there's a subset of the fandom (which I assume is heavily the wincest subset) that reacts negatively to any female character that could potentially be a love interest for one of the boys.

I've *never* understood why fandom in general creates so much drama though -- especially with ship wars. If we all had the same opinions on everything, life would be pretty boring, IMO :)

ITA. I was spoiled at first by a few fandoms that were wee and cute, and people regularly wrote all different varieties of fic, which everyone responded to positively because it was like SMALL FANDOM FIC! WHO CARES WHAT SHIP, YAY FIC!, so I still have a hard time wrapping my mind around ship wars.

Y'know, I totally agree with you on the fandoms and interests, opinions the whole deal. But I have to admit, the constant and unrepentant ranting is starting to get a little old. *G* I'm doing a lot of "*BREATHE*" and skimming. This? people is why I use a whole lot of lj-cuts. Lots'n lots of lj-cuts.

hehe I like this. I've seen way too many posts that aren't about what someone thinks about the characters, but what they think about everyone else's opinions. *g* It's okay to disagree. :-) I don't really understand why people seem to get so upset about what everyone else thinks.
