I'm sore, man. So sore.

Dear God, it should be illegal that I had to be out of my house by 6:10am today to get to the gym. Seriously. It doesn't help that my trainer is evil. Hot, but evil. And so now I'm hobbling around my office all sad like.
And really, MSNBC can start covering actual news any time they want. I'm about at the point where I'm gonna throw the television across the gym floor if I see anymore on Anna Nicole Smith or Britney's shaved head. There is actual news going on. Let's talk about how Senator John McCain is turning into a hypocritical dick. I mean, he's Republican so there have always been things I disagreed with the man on, but overall, I respected him. He served his country. He didn't give into the whims of the christian right.
But now he's just. He's hired the guy who basically called him insane when he was in the primaries against Bush. He's totally become the White House's bitch because he wants the nomination. And now he's showing up at Abstinence Only rallies and swearing to overturn Roe vs. Wade when he used to be quite moderate in that area.
What a huge dick.

Let's focus on happier things. Television. Heroes won out again last night because I hold out hope that I will once again have Peter/Nathan touching.
Episode 1.16 - Unexpected
This was an excellent episode. It featured some of my favorite characters (though I want more Nathan!) and there was no boring Niki/Jessica story to be dealt with.
I loved the fighting scene between Peter and Claude. And so Peter did absorb all the powers that Sylar had at the time. It's going to make for an interesting standoff between him and Sylar when the time comes. Peter might be the only one who can stop him. And let's hope Mr. Bennett's learned from his mistakes and doesn't leave him alive next time. I loved that Peter was able to control his powers not only to save Claude from Mr. Bennett, but to go after Isaac.
And Mr. Bennett gave Isaac a regular gun to use on Peter? Does he not remember that Peter saved Claire's life or does that not matter at all to him?
But really, I'm glad Peter stood up for himself to Isaac. Isaac's an ass, who doesn't seem to care about what's best for anyone but himself. And he had better hair when he was an addict. However, it was still a bit disconcerting to see that punishing side to Peter. I mean, I truly think he purposely made the decision to be the opposite of that most of his life because of his father (and the fact that he had Nathan to always protect him.)
Speaking of...
Dear Isaac,
Not only are you going to be in trouble for killing Simone, but when Nathan finds out you were going to shoot his brother? Yeah, I'd run. Nathan is a tad bit overprotective of Peter in case you didn't know.
No love,
Tommygirl
I refuse to accept that Nine is gone for good. He must come back and continue to be Peter's mentor.
But more than that, I want some Nathan & Peter together again scenes. Like Nathan getting pissed off about Isaac and Peter calming him down...and then when Jessica comes after Nathan, I totally want Peter to save him and kick Jessica's ass.
In other storylines...I love Hiro and Ando. They rock. Is there anyone out there that doesn't love Hiro? It's like impossible. He's awesome. And it was so sad that he told Ando to go home, even if it is to protect Ando in the end.
I love GG, but Matt Parkman is starting to annoy me. First, he steals those jewels like an idiot and doesn't do much about hiding them. And then he goes along with Ted and the other girl on a home invasion? How is any of that heroic? And I get that it's all about the journey, but it's just dumb.
I loved Claire yelling at her dad and saying that she was only sticking around to protect her family from him. And how she wouldn't let him off with an "I'm sorry, it was for you." Because while I honestly do believe he loves his family, he just knows no boundaries. Like I'm not sure he wouldn't have the Haitian mess with his wife's mind even now that they know it's caused all these problems.
However, I'm pretty sure the Haitian is in trouble. And did he help Nine escape - be considered dead? Because that would be double trouble.
And next week's looks so damn interesting. I can't wait.
But really, who will write me some Nathan/Peter where Nathan wants to go after Isaac for trying to kill Peter? I'll give you a cookie! And a hug! And lots of love!
I also got caught up on Brothers & Sisters yesterday. I seriously love this show and I can never really explain why. I suffer mocking at the hands of my sister and friends for loving it, but it's good stuff. And there are cute boys. The only real downside is Rob Lowe plays a Republican Senator. He will always be Sam Seaborne, the democrat, to me. I just truly love the family dynamics at work on this show, and I'm totally a sucker for the sibling relationship so this just...so good.

I know there was already a community set up as a multifandom ongoing challenge for "What If", but it never seemed to get off the ground. So I was thinking of starting my own one up...with bi-weekly what if challenges that would be answered with drabbles/ficlets/stories.
Like "What if you knew you were going to die in twenty-four hours, what would you do?" And then you answer it for a character.
I have all the What If? books so I would have the prompts easily available.
Anyone interested?

Alrighty, I'm behind on the friends list, so I'm off to attempt to catch up.
Ciao darlings!

Date: 2007-02-20 06:18 pm (UTC)I would absolutely be interested in a 'What If' community. I always need more prompts to help jump start the writing. :)

Date: 2007-02-20 11:49 pm (UTC)Would it be like Theatrical Muse where you claim a character?

Date: 2007-02-21 06:05 pm (UTC)That way if you want to mix it up, you could, but if you wanted to just keep writing from the POV of one character and make up your own What If? 'Verse, you could do that too.
