last night was tv night...

To warn y'all, I may end up spamming today. I'm bored AND my memory is completely shoddy today. So I'll probably end up forgetting things I meant to post and have to make an extra post. It's just going to be one of those days. Also, I actually have some recs to post at
polyfandomrecs, mostly Supernatural ones. This way Steph doesn't have to plan my death.
But let's get right to the important things. Thursday night television, starting with my Winchester boys!
Episode 2.17 - Heart
This is the Supernatural that I truly love because we get these funny moments and then it completely breaks you. God, it was just...poor Sam. He finally lets his defenses enough to let a girl in and he has to kill her in the end. And he does it, even though it's completely breaking him to do it. I just hope this isn't some sort of foreshadowing for Sam with Dean. Because I seriously...I will not be able to handle it if it ever really does come to the point where Sam is begging Dean to kill him and Dean has to do it. I will just...I love these boys too much, dammit.
Sam getting into the soap opera was awesome. Sam being awkward around the girl and Dean teasing him about it on the phone was even more awesome.
I love how Sam wants to save her so much, that he wants to try things to save her...not just for the girl who he does care about, but for the idea that it's possible, that people can be saved from these dark things...he needs to believe that for himself. So the end is just crushing all the more.
But really,
Dear Jared,
You are freaking HOT, my friend. Like HOT. And the pinning her against the wall? And the big hands cupping her face? GAH.
HOT
Love,
Tommygirl
Again, the end when they realized that she couldn't be saved and her asking Sam to end it for her...Dean offering to do it for him and then being so upset that Sam had to do it. It kills Dean not to be able to take his brother's pain away.
Dear Kripke,
If ever there was a time for my boys to hug, really...what do I have to do to get my freaking HUG? Brothers hug. It's not unheard of, dammit!
I still love you!
Tommygirl
It was just a really good episode. Funny, hot, and then heartbreaking. Damn this show owns my soul.
And now another wait until the remainder of the new episodes. Bah.
Ugly Betty also continues to make me smile and love characters more than I expected.
Episode 1.18 - Don't Ask, Don't Tell
Let us begin with Amanda being upset that she is no longer Marc's pretend girlfriend. I love that. And I love that Marc has made up a bunch of stories about her, so that she gets revenge by introducing Betty as his girlfriend. Oh, I love Marc. He's so adorable.
And I love the hilarity of Betty/Marc trying to act like a couple throughout dinner with his mother. That Betty tries to get Marc to be honest about who he is...because she's just not used to families that don't accept you for who you are.
The flashcards with information? So awesome.
And then Henry is there and he knows all these things about Betty. He is so adorable. He just needs to break up with Charley already. It's not fair to anyone to stay with someone out of obligation. He obviously wants to be with Betty, so do something about it.
The dinner with the family and everything going wrong. Perfect.
Betty/Daniel will always own me. She's a really good influence on him, she helps him realize that he is capable of things...but at the same time, it's not some overnight change. It's one step forward, two steps back. And it's so true that sometimes families are the ones who can demolish us the most.
I'm glad that Claire could see through Wili's plans. But now she's onto Bradford and ew. I'd like to think better of him, but it's hard to do that when he disowns his son (daughter).
And then there is Alexis. I get her anger with her father, but I don't understand the way she treats Daniel. I really hope Betty shows her the letter than Daniel had written...because I can't decide if this is just sibling rivalry rearing its head, or if Alexis is just a dick.
And okay, I'm a little partial to Daniel. I love him a whole lot.
The end with Marc and Betty? How much do I love that Marc uses the same line that Amanda did in an earlier episode? "This doesn't mean I like you." They totally do.
Good episode. This show always makes me smile.

Just a reminder that Sweet Charity bidding wraps up tomorrow. So you still have time to place some bids on your favorite fannish people. There is so much good stuff to choose from. At least check it out.

Date: 2007-03-23 03:45 pm (UTC)ugly betty was soooo good! i loved the whole marc and betty thing. then daniel showing up during dinner and justin saying he was betty's ex. haha! marc's mom was just mean! i liked what betty said about family being who you make it, or whatever and make marc feel better. and amanda being marc's pretend gf in the past! too funny. great revenge on her part though. i'm not sure how i feel about alexis. i do think daniel is a better person than she is. he's really trying. and alexis is just trying to get to the top and she doesn't care who she takes down on her way up. henry is just adorable. he's so in love with betty, but doesn't want to hurt charlie. ahhhh...

Date: 2007-03-24 10:21 pm (UTC)And dude, Ugly Betty just gets better and better. I originally watched the pilot because of America and my love for her in other things...and it just...LOVE.
And I love Henry! And I'm totally cool with Betty/Henry for now - just some day it will have to be Betty/Daniel. Hee.

Date: 2007-03-23 05:50 pm (UTC)I just...this episode was everything I wanted it to be.
Even though, wtf werewolf lore. Sigh.

Date: 2007-03-24 10:23 pm (UTC)Yeah, they didn't do much with the whole werewolf side, but I'm actually okay with that. I don't watch this show for the monster of the weeks, even if they are interesting (that's just a bonus). I'm invested because of Sam and Dean and their relationship...and on that end? God, this episode was so damn good.
