tommygirlI'm not sure that I am still able to be coherent about Heroes last night, but I will give it a try.
Episode 1.20 - Five Years Gone
Wow. Just wow. My mind is still reeling from this episode.
Nathan completely felt off to me, but I totally didn't think it was Sylar until the scene with Claire started. And then it just hit me and I was very upset because that meant Nathan was dead. But at the same time, it explained so much. His willingness to undertake genocide. His touchy-feely behavior with Mohinder. The fact that Peter wasn't a huge facet in his life (probably what bugged me most - how sad).
I love Hiro and Ando. They rock. And the fact that Hiro becomes the way he does because Ando dies...it's so upsetting and yet so true to their bffness. Hiro may be the "hero" but he depends on Ando a great deal to provide him direction and honesty. I love that Hiro was scared of his future version. I love that when he was dealing with Matt, Mohinder, and the Haitian he tried to be brave, despite how scared he was. Basically, I just love Hiro.
Micah died? Noooooooo...he's too cute. You can't kill the kid. Kill Niki/Jessica instead! Though her interactions with Peter actually made me like her character a bit...but not at the expense of Micah.
Matt turned into a huge prick, didn't he? Just wow. I know his moral compass has been tested lately - keeping the diamonds, kidnapping the Bennett family - but to get that far? He upsets me.
Mohinder is hotness. And I love how he wants to do the right thing and that he helps Hiro to escape.
Dude, Peter is so hot when he's all badass and broody. Who knew?
I really hope that Hiro and Ando can save the day because honestly, I don't think I could handle that future world. My poor heroes are all messed up. And there was no Nathan/Peter. Tragic.

The Tuesday Ten
1. What music are you currently listening to? Well, today at lunch I will pick up the new Michael Buble, but in the meantime, I've been obsessed with Robin Thicke.
2. What was the first concert you ever went to? Tiffany/New Kids on the Block
3. Do you mostly buy your music, or “borrow” music? Mostly buy. I will "borrow" a few songs from new artists to see if I like it and then I buy it if I do.
4. First music you bought yourself? I bought myself Michael Jackson's thriller on tape with some of my birthday money.
5. Dream concert playlist (lets say … 3 artists) would be? Do they have to be alive? Because dream concert would be: Doors, Beatles (all four), and Janis Joplin...of living/current artists - Ani Difranco, Bruce Springsteen, Matchbox Twenty
6. Favourite alcoholic beverage? I love mudslides and amaretto sours
7. Do you drink silly frothy flavoured coffees? Nope, I don't like coffee.
8. Fave chocolate bar? Hersheys...though I prefer Peppermint Patties
9. Fave meal? pizza
10. Fave type of restaurant? Italian/Pizza places

Last night I had a dream about Dexter, based off the information from the season finale. But it was upsetting and gross at points so I woke up part upset and part wanting to watch the series over again. I'll have to do that soon, though I'm still behind on many other shows so not sure when that will happen. But my subconscious misses my favorite serial killer.

Date: 2007-05-01 04:24 pm (UTC)Amen. It was so utterly heartbreaking to hear that he became that way because of Ando. And Hiro is just... man, too awesome for words. Masi was STELLAR in this episode, seriously.
I seriously did not get that Nathan was Sylar, it completely blew me away! Such an amazing episode!

I loved Sylar and Mohinder's brief partnership -- in a good skin-crawling way -- and here I was watching it re-enacted and didn't even know it! Because I was completely shocked when President Nathan's true identity was revealed.
Looking back, no longer caught up in the moment-to-moment drama, I don't think that Nathan would advocate genocide. But when Sylar said Nathan had already turned against his own kind before he was killed, that I can easily believe. We're taking Sylar's word for it, but in this case, I think he was telling the truth.

I'll admit I wasn't really...looking forward to the episode so much, so I was probably a bit biased. The Sylar switch was out of left field, and I didn't quite expect it but the execution was a bit strange.
