Questions from
rachel_wilder
1. What are your hopes for your future in writing?
Immediate goal would be to get more disciplined with my writing, but my hopes would be to start making a living with my writing, whether it’s novels or screenplays (hopefully both) in the near future. I do some small freelance (mostly editing though) jobs now, but nothing substantial.
2. Which fandom do you find the most challenging to write?
I read, but have never written in Firefly and that’s because I don’t want to mess up the Whedon-speak that is so perfect on the show. I’m not sure I could do it as well so I stay away from it. As far as fandoms that I’ve actually written, Harry Potter can be hard trying to keep canon/fanon straight, doing Brit speak without it being to overt, and trying to make something interesting with the characters without ruining the whole plotline.
3. Do you prefer long or short format...15 minute challenges or long WIPs?
I prefer long format because I think that I get more closure, more story, more of everything for my characters…but I enjoy the shorts because it’s something that has no pressure of continuity and such.
4. How long have you had an LJ? Why did you start one?
Since May of 2001, prior to that I had an open diary, but I never really got into that—it was much more a woe-is-me sort of ups and downs of a relationship I was in and I wanted to start anew. Plus, it’s a good way to keep track of things and write on a daily basis…oh, and I think I’m much more interesting than I actually am so I believe that everyone wants to know all about me.
5. Do you read non-LJ blogs or journals? If so, what attracts you to them?
Yeppers. I’ve been reading them longer than I’ve kept one myself. I love Pamie's Blog, Omar's Blog, and Pete's
doghousereilly I Shoot With My Mind to name a few. I'm a blog addict.
