Because who doesn't want to know all about me, really?
These come from my most wonderful B-Rok

1) Other than me talking about them, what sparked your interest in tractor pulls?
The best friend and I started this pact about eight years ago where we want to experience things that to us seem a little bit strange/weird (no offense, dearie) but to others are a way of life. We’ve gone to civil war re-enactments, the rodeo, the monster truck show, and a lumberjack festival to name a few. I think a tractor pull would be one of those things to put on my list.
2) John Kerry was in Hannibal MO last night (about a half hour away from me). Convince me of why I should have gone.
Well, I think he has a lot of good policies that he wants to put into place if he gets elected. He wants to try to fix things rather than act like a fussy child who refuses to listen to what anyone has to say.
But since you and Robbie might fall under farmers/rural America. Here is some information on how Kerry’s plans might affect you.
He proposed and helped pass a plan making low-interest loans available to many rural small businesses hit by droughts, and he helped pass important reforms in crop and flood insurance to strengthen federal disaster assistance for rural communities.
Kerry and Edwards will expand health care coverage, improve conservation efforts, support small farmers and their families, fight for truth in labeling practices, increase access to advanced technology, and encourage federal investment in renewable energy sources and technologies that will spur job growth and create the "cash crops" of tomorrow.
Did that work at all?
3) What's your opinion of gastric bypass surgery?
I know people who’ve had it and it’s not a decision to be made lightly. But for some people, it feels like their only option and that’s…if you can deal with the risks/side effects and make an informed decision that’s fine. Me? I chose the cult (Weight Watchers) and the gym as my method and I lost 75 pounds thus far. Is it easy? Hell no. But a life for me with little to no carbs (such as would be recommended after gastric bypass) is a life not worth living. Heh.
The one thing I do hate are all the celebrities who get the surgery done and then are praised for losing weight and getting in shape. That just irks me.
4) Do you work in a cubicle? Does it stifle you?
Nope. There are no cubicles here. Everyone but May and I (the other Admin Assistant) have their own offices. She and I are out in the open. I like having window excess and what not.
5) Are you all healed after your last bout with being klutzy?
Almost. I can drive, type, open doors again…but there are still certain things that I can’t do—staple something with a regular stapler, lift heavy things—but I’m making progress. And I’m not in pain as much…and sadly, I’m off the pain killers :(
But I nearly fell the other day again—as if my body knew it was nearly healed—and Ellen, the coolest four-year-old ever, shook her head and said, “Oh Tommy. You must stop falling.” Very seriously.

Date: 2004-08-07 12:52 pm (UTC)I think it's really a personal thing. Because the first time I did weight watchers, I left and tried to go it solo for awhile and started to gail weight back, but once I went back to the meetings, I was fine. ANd once you get to your goal weight and maintain it for a certain period of time, you have earned free membership to weight watchers for life.
If you have more questions, you have my email I think.
