friday is upon us!

It's Friday! The weekend is upon me! I don't have a long weekend like some as I have opted to work and take a floating holiday at Christmas time. Much rather have off then.
Time for some television talk:
Ugly Betty was highly enjoyable. I loved Hilda trying to cover for Betty. I personally enjoyed the fight Betty had with her Dad. Betty needs to be able to make mistakes and learn the hard way. She has to be able to try things and not be held to some high standard that no one else has to live by. And I know in her father's case, it was because he didn't want her hurt. But life is made up of hurt at times.
Henry is adorable. I love him telling Betty she'd be living with him and then making her go to her father's citizenship hearing.
So where will Christina get the money for Stuart's treatment? Will she even be able to?
This episode was really all about Marc and Cliff. I love them. They are my favorite thing! I loved that Marc was jealous and then overreacted and broke up with Cliff, and then his idea of apologizing was just to hug Cliff and Cliff was okay with that. ADORABLE!
Daniel really needs to take Betty off the pedestal he has her on. The first season, he spent many an episode telling her to put herself first sometimes and explaining that no one is perfect. But he seems to forget these things when Betty makes a mistake.
Totally called the heart attack.
Overall, very good stuff. I love Henry! But Marc/Cliff makes the show.
And then to the show that continues to own me - this week's supernatural
Episode 3.6
I'm sorry, but a ghost ship makes me think of the remake of The Fog with Tom Welling. Hot boy, bad movie.
Oh Sam and Dean fighting. I love how much they really love each other. How annoyed Sam is with Dean because he needs him. I love how Dean is just scared that something will happen to Sam that he can't stop or would be responsible for.
I really like Bela. I enjoy the way she plays off both Sam and Dean. And I really like how she and Dean are a bit alike, but coming from very different places as far as dealing with the supernatural.
How much am I loving the scenes with Sam and Dean in suits, but with the loosened ties? YUMMY.
Another brother mourning over a sibling...
And then Sam saying he feels like he can't save anybody. Poor Sammy. Dean you need to HUG him.
The old lady hitting on Sam. Can't say I blame her. I'd molest Sam too, especially in the tux.
Which is just...bless you Kripke for giving us Sam and Dean in tuxes. Bela's reaction would be mine. Oh Dean. So very, very hot. And Sam. YUMMY. Really, there needs to be Sam and Dean making out fic set after that charity dinner.
I had a feeling Bela stole the hand from Dean, but I like that it came after her and we got some back story about her in a more interesting way. She obviously was responsible for the death of a loved one, whether it was an accident or on purpose or what, we have no idea, but nice bit of information.
And then the last scene between Sam and Dean. Gah. Dean opens up a little, but can't do it for too long. I think he's really trying to hold it together and seem like he doesn't care so that Sam will back off, but Sam is stubborn and has no plans of letting Dean go...so they're going to reach a breaking point soon. I just hope they're there to help each other through it.
Another solid episode. I really do like Bela, but I enjoy the episodes that are just our boys more.
Next week's previews look very interesting...
I will have some fic suggestions to share soon. And by suggestion I mean, y'all are brilliant writers who should undertake these challenges for me. Heh.

My Mini-Nanowrimo (

I'm up to five pages on a Supernatural Dean/Carmen fic that I'm not quite sure about yet as far as where it's heading. I did it on lunch and had hoped to write last night before tv time, but that just didn't happen.
a little excerpt:
The first time Dean met Carmen it played out like a horrible chick flick cliché. It’s one of those stories Carmen loves to share with other women, who love nothing more than the idea of a knight riding in to save the damsel. Even if the damsel could more than take care of herself and the knight didn’t really do much.
Dean stood in the corner of the bar while his buddy made small talk with some college girl with big tits. Dean officially declared the night a bust a few beers ago, but lack of better options kept him in place. As Dean nursed his beer, he debated whether sheer boredom at a bar or at his apartment was more pathetic, and when he glanced across the bar, there she was. Beautiful brown hair, gorgeous body, and killer smile, trying her best to make a graceful exit from an unwanted admirer.

Date: 2007-11-09 10:39 pm (UTC)Plus, I kinda like the Dean/Bela thing. I wouldn't want them to push that too much, but I do think it could work... particularly if Bela were less of a bitch...
Poor Sam always gets the shaft. I wanted to give him a big ol' hug. And also get him the hell away from creepy old Girt.

Date: 2007-11-10 09:56 am (UTC)The boys in tuxes....man, they really need to find an excuse to dress up every week. Tuxes or SWAT outfits or firefighter gear, I am totally happy with any of those.
