I'm going to crosspost this to my insanejournal, but I think this is fun. I'm hoping to play with some of the ones I've seen posted.

I post the first lines from 25 20 of my stories. You use those first lines to write a new drabble.

It was nearly two in the morning and Sam was alone. He had no idea how long he'd been unconscious, or what they'd done to him while he was. He was reasonably sure the red-haired witch had been in his mind; there was a hint of something in his thoughts that didn't belong.

"Doesn't matter" he said, tracing a finger along the rough hewn stonework. If they could help him get to Dean, he'd put up with a whole lot more.

“I’ve never been fond of Monday mornings,” Jensen groans into his jacket sleeve, the day after enforced rest.

"And I should care... why?" Dr. McKay snipes, tossing the latest findings from PX37D4 at him. It sounds like he's gotten up on the wrong side of the bed, too. It's probably because Colonel Sheppard has been off with Major Lorne's team since Lorne caught the Pegasus version of the bird flu: he still can't stop squawking.

Not that Jensen is dumb enough to tell Dr McKay his theory. That way lies instructions to touch Ancient tech that hasn't been deemed 'safe'.

Oh god, this First Line Meme is so infectious and it's been exciting my muse all week! I already have fics based on other people's first lines and now you! #6 - "It wasn't supposed to be like this" - has spawned quite a dark little BtVS/AtS fic that I'll definitely come back and post the link to whenever it gets posted.
