The graphic artist at my office is trying to figure out the size resolution to use in Photoshop when planning to move it to Dreamweaver. She's having trouble with pixelation when she tries to move it and I have no idea how to help her with it.

More to come later, when my brain is functioning. And if any of you missed it, I posted a Supernatural Coda this weekend. It's gen fic.

well, web standard is 72dpi. i've had a problem where i needed to make images slightly bigger than i wanted in photoshop, because they seemed to shrink slightly in dreamweaver. i usually start with something around 300dpi if i can help it, then reduce to 72 and export to a jpeg. if that helps.

If it's something that will be multi-use, save it in both print, at least 300DPI, and web, 72DPI, resolution. That way you're covered. A monitor can only display 72DPI so any more than that is wasted and makes the file unnecessarily large.

Though I've been watchin Supernatural since the first ep, I've never been involved in the fandom. But the season four opener just blew me away - plus it helps that one of my other tv obsessions has just ended - do you have any LJ communities (just news ones or Jared/Jensen ones) you can recommend? I'm going to catch up on your fics now too :)

Ah, THAT sounds familiar. Ditto the 72 dpi, though notching it up to 300 is just fine. The other thing that's sweet is that while she's in photoshop, if she changes it to 72 dpi and the image goes from, say, 12 inches to 6 inches, she should be able to go into image size (while her dpi edit box is still open) and change it to, like, 20 inches, and it'll give her more resolution to muck around with. ....iiiif that makes sense. If not, hell, give her my email.

Her name is Martina and she has a few more questions, so I passed your email along to her. I told her to tell you that Mare sent her to you for guidance.

Thank you so much. Martina keeps asking me and I do not know PHotoshop, just Dreamweaver.
