Thank the lords this is only a three-day week. I'm so lethargic and disinterested in the world at large at the moment. I'm hoping it's because of the cold of doom that just won't go away (it's going on a month) and that my energy is just sapped because of it. Or maybe it's just the change of season brining on some ennui. Whatever the cause, I apologize if I'm less that chatty and fun.

Does anyone know if there is any good It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia fanfiction out there? I'll try pairings, no real specific one in my head, but I'd love stuff in the same vain as the show (totally inappropriate and hilarious).

**

I started rewatching the canon for my [livejournal.com profile] yuletide fic and it got my mind whirling with some ideas. I really love the characters that I'm writing for...I just worry about getting their voices right. Nothing worse than a character that doesn't sound like s/he should. Especially since this is a gift for someone and I want it to be great and everything that they were hoping for.

**

Seeing twilight has gotten my brain going on more ideas for Alice/Jasper fic. Probably just because they weren't featured nearly enough, but when they were they were so darn cute together. I just love them lots. And I guess it's a good thing since I have 18 more fics to write for the twilight20 prompt table.

Dear wonderful yuletide author:

Hi! How are you? I hope all is well and you aren't freaking out about yuletide because of my requests. Because I'm pretty easy to please and already so appreciative that you signed up to write in any of the fandoms I've requested. there is a serious lack of fic in some of them and just knowing there will be another story out there makes me happy.

I'm so grateful that you're doing this, and below are some ideas to help you. Please realize that my details on the sign-up were just ideas to help you get your muses flowing. If you go off in a completely different direction? I will still love and adore the story.

I'm pretty much a character and relationship-oriented girl, not necessarily romantic relationships either, just how friends/family/etc interact with another. I love emotional journeys and coming out the better for it. My favorite thing is banter. I love the back-and-forth between two characters. It's not to say I don't love a good plot to my story, but I'm just as happy with a story that moves characters a & b to the next level.

I'm a huge fan of happy endings, or at least not dark & depressing ends. There can be angst and hurt/comfort and whatever else, so long as I know my characters are still standing and okay at the end.

The requests themselves:

1. Rob Thurman - Nightlife: I have a huge love of siblings who are close and put each other first. A lot of my favorite fandoms have close siblings, so why should this be any different? Since the books are all from Cal's point of view, I would love something from Niko's perspective, especially after Darkling takes over Cal. But really anything that's about the brothers and how much they love one another would be fine with me. I'd prefer gen, but if you want there to be more to Cal/Niko, I wouldn't be against it (Supernatural broke me of that taboo awhile ago). Also, I've read the first three books, so no worries about spoilers through what's been published.

2. Privileged - So here's the thing. I have a huge best friend love. I love best friends who grow into a romantic relationship even more. And there is such potential between Megan and Charlie. So that was my request. I especially love the idea of Rose seeing it before Megan and getting Sage to help her move things along. That said, if you just don't feel the Megan/Charlie, a lovely gen piece about their friendship would be great. My only request is no Megan/Will - I don't really care for Will much.

3. Samantha Who - I love Samantha and Todd together. I love how they can't seem to get it quite right and keep pushing-and-pulling. I'd love them as a pairing that end up together, but if you want to do something that explores them in a different light, that's fine too. And I love every character on the show, so feel to feature as many or as few in the story as you want.

4. Veritas the Quest - Again, I'm a sucker for familial relationships and I would love to see something that has Nikko dealing with his newfound abilities and working on his relationship with his dad. I'd also love to see Nikko and Calvin interacting because, whether it's in a brotherly-way or in a meant-to-end-up-together way (I'd read either), they have a fun dynamic. Basically, if it focused on Nikko and left Juliet out of the story, you can't go wrong.

Again, I hope the above helped. And I really would love to see any of these requests - I didn't make them in any specific order - and appreciate your willingness to attempt it. When all else fails, follow your heart and your ideas because I will love whatever you write for me.

If it helps, feel free to look through my journal here at the type of stuff I write. Or, I share a reccing journal ([livejournal.com profile] polyfandomrecs) with a friend, so that should give you ideas of the stuff I love to read. I linked to my website, but it's not completely up-to-date at the moment.

Thanks again and happy writing!

-I was planning to run [livejournal.com profile] sn_holidays again this year, but so far only two people have signed up. If you're interested, sign-ups run until October 26th, this Sunday. If I don't get more sign-ups, I'm gonna cancel it.

-[livejournal.com profile] oldschoolfic is running a holiday challenge. It's open to closed/old fandoms that have no new canon. So Sports Night could qualify for that. Want some Party of Five or Dawson's Creek or West Wing fic for the holidays? Go play at [livejournal.com profile] oldschoolfic. I'm personally hoping some Joan of Arcadia people come play!

-[livejournal.com profile] lordessrenegade posted awesome caps of the Sports Night gag reel. it's love, my friends.

-Most of you know this already, but [livejournal.com profile] yuletide nominations are open. So to make sure the fandoms you want are included, be sure to nominate them.
tommygirl: (sherlock holmes - holmes & watson 1)
[livejournal.com profile] yuletide is open for nominations. I pondered long and hard on my nominations and came up with the following: Samantha Who, Privileged (I want Megan/Charlie fic, my friends), Road to Avonlea, The Outsiders, Blade movies, and Thunderbirds. I was going to nominate The Class, but I'm hoping someone else will take care of that. I mean, there should always be the option of writing Ethan/Kat.

**

Have not watched Heroes from last night yet, but I did see Chuck. Spoilers... )

I think there is a new episode of Fringe on tonight. I quite enjoy this show. I don't think it's brilliant, but it's definitely entertaining (when it's not grossing me out). And it has the added bonus of characters I like, especially one played by Josh Jackson. It's Pacey all grown up with scruff and a genius IQ.

**

For those that missed it, I highly recommend checking out the Treasure Hunt Booty from [livejournal.com profile] win_non_con. Miss Piggy's past relationship with Dean Winchester is a personal favorite.
tommygirl: (michael phelps & ryan lochte - hug)
Happy Supernatural Day, my friends!

Does anyone know if the rumors I've heard are true? Is SPN airing at 8pm because of the debate? That would be awesome because otherwise I won't get to see it until tomorrow. I figure I'm safe because I dvr Smallville (one of those things I often say, "I wish I knew how to quit you" about), but I'd love to watch it. This will come as a surprise, but I'm a tad bit obsessed with the Winchester boys.

Not more than politics though. And I want Joe Biden to call Sarah Palin out on every lie and half truth and idiotic comment she has made. She is just...I'm not Republican, but surely there was an actual qualified woman who could have been McCain's running mate. Palin is just an insult to women and either a liar or crazy to boot. So yes, Joe, crush her!

**

I think I want some Samantha Who fic for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide! Or Dirty Sexy Money. Or road to avonlea.

I can't believe it's already almost time for Yuletide and holiday exchanges. Where has the year gone?

Also, since only a small number were interested in the Sports Night Holiday Exchange, I've decided to combine forces with [livejournal.com profile] larah33. Sports Night will become a part of the [livejournal.com profile] oldschoolfic holiday exchange. that way Sports Night can still play and people can get that fic...but I'm not running a whole exchange for seven people (though I would if people really want it. I'm a sucker like that.).
tommygirl: (ben affleck)
1. Happy Supernatural Day! In eight hours, I will have more Sam and Dean on my television.

2. Other TV: I'm playing catch-up at the moment except for Supernatural and Heroes. I've loved the first two parts of Lost in Austen! And Gossip Girl holds my attention because of Chuck Bass. I love Chuck.

3. Politics: Just have the freaking debate. And don't pretend it's not the Republicans holding up the bail out plan at the moment. If you can't get your own party to fall in line, that's not Obama (or America's) fault. And Obama is right. If you're actually needed in DC, that's one thing, but this whole thing seems like a political play to avoid dealing with the fact that McCain never supported regulating the economy and now we're in a mess.

4. EW: On that end, PETA really needs to get off my side. They're *insane*. I don't want Ben & Jerry's ice cream made with human milk. That's gross.

5. Yuletide: I've been thinking quite a bit about what I want to nominate and then request as far as fic goes. So many things I'm currently considering. I love this time of year.

6. Prompts: Give me some first lines (you guys know my fandoms, I think), and I'll try to do some writing. I'm blocked, but last first line Jen gave me turned out pretty well...so please. Help a sister out.
tommygirl: (the class - kat & ethan)
This is the second story I wrote for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide. I was going through the lists of requests and stumbled upon one for The Class by [livejournal.com profile] lauriegilbert and my brain just started with Kat tormenting Ethan about Kyle. It's not a pairing I ever really considered, but it was fun to try. And I figure there needs to be more The Class fic out there. Again, with the database issues, I didn't receive all the emails, but thank you to everyone who commented! I'm glad the fic was enjoyed.

This was my main story for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide. I loved my prompt, but I had a hard time at first thinking of how to handle it and then the last two episodes of B&S aired before winter hiatus and the story just came out. Unfortunately, I never got emailed some of the feedback so I couldn't respond, but I'm so glad that [livejournal.com profile] soobunny liked the fic. And thank you to everyone else who left wonderful feedback as well.

tommygirl: (supernatural - holidays)
Merry Christmas to those that celebrate! Happy Tuesday to everyone! My day was nice and relaxing. We woke up early to exchange gifts with immediate family and had breakfast. Then my sister and I went to a movie. Afterwards, we played games on the Wii and I took a nap. Now I've started reading [livejournal.com profile] yuletide fic and wow, there are so many stories. Alas, I was only able to write one extra story as a treat yesterday because of insanity in life.

Anyway, I now have new books, movies, and such to keep me entertained. I highly recommend everyone go see the movie Juno because it was awesome. Funny and sweet and a little bit bizarre. I adored it.

**

I've started a list of yuletide recs as I go through the plethora of fic, but I must squee about the two fics in the archive for me. They are both wonderful and amazing and so utterly perfect. I was seriously dancing about like a loon after I read them. And then my sister danced about like a loon with me when she saw that one was Alice/Jasper (because while, she's not into fandom, she does love Alice/Jasper).

So go read and adore (like you should):

1) Meeting the Cullens - Twilight, Alice/Jasper [R]

2) These Three Words Have Said It All - The Outsiders

I seriously have read them a few times already. And GAH. My heart.

Thank you so much, Santa(s). You are awesome!

**

[livejournal.com profile] sn_holidays fic has started to trickle in. I need to finish mine up. Same goes for [livejournal.com profile] spn_holidays. Oh, fic galore.
tommygirl: (entourage - vince & eric)
Now it's time to begin my [livejournal.com profile] yuletide freak out. I have ideas on what to write, but getting it out is a pain in my butt. I really want to write something that my person will love and I'm currently struggling to do it. It will come though. Just need to ponder. Just need to figure out how to get it started.

**

This weekend was supposed to be about catching up on fannish endeavors and such, but my sinuses decided to go crazy again. I spent a large portion of my time sleeping. And then watching cheesy holiday movies.

And then that got me to thinking about running an informal multifandom challenge based around taking a fandom/pairing and putting them into one of the cheesy holiday movies. For example, Dean gets sucked into a Snowglobe and has to deal with a perfect little holiday village. Or Sam sees what his life would be like in a perfect world...or...

Damn me and my random ideas.

**

I really hope all this sleeping won't mess me up tonight. Because that leads to being extremely tired at work and that will annoy me.
tommygirl: (matrix)
I got my Yuletide assignment and I'm very excited about this. I can't wait to do "research" and get into it. It's not a fandom I've written in before, but it's one that I love a great deal. I really love yuletide.

My letter to my Yuletide Santa... )
tommygirl: (muppets - christmas carol)
Merry Christmas to everyone that celebrates! To those that don't, I hope it was just a fabulous day!

I've spent the majority of my day being quite lazy, hanging with the family, eating too much, and playing Guitar Hero (one of my gifts for Christmas!). And now I'm about to settle in to read as many [livejournal.com profile] yuletide fics as I can. I've read mine, Apologies, which is Earth 2, True fic, and it's amazing. I'm highly attached to True Danizger and there isn't nearly enough fic about her character and this piece is such a wonderful look at her life in the future. I love it a whole lot. So if my [livejournal.com profile] yuletide santa is reading this: you totally rock! I knew I would love whatever was written and this doesn't disappoint in the least.

I've also got about five Supernatural stories bookmarked for reading and I haven't even touched [livejournal.com profile] undermistletoe yet.

I love the holiday fandom writing!

**

I want to thank y'all for the cards (both snail mail and e-mail), the icons, the lovely notes, and just the good wishes. You are all so amazing and I'm so grateful to have you guys in my life. Fandom makes life fun and it's a great place just to forget stress and other real life things. ::huggles her list::

I'm hoping to use some of my time off on vacation to try to fulfill some more wish list pieces, but this is me we're talking about. I run about three years behind on almost everything.

**

I am in 24 heaven! I got season five on dvd, the calendar, and the dvd board game. It's as though my family thinks I'm obsessed with Jack Bauer or something. Heh. Also, TWO coach bags, baby. One from the mother (was not expecting at all) and one from the boy (totally picked this one out!). Woo-hoo. I have a purse addiction and I love that my family spoils me with it.

And luckily everyone loved their gifts thus far. My sister and I nearly killed our mother on Wednesday of this week...we were all at Borders and she suddendly notices the complete series of Homicide on dvd, which we had already bought FOR HER for christmas. And she was seriously about to buy it FOR HERSELF. It's like she is incapable of waiting for the holidays! But luckily, she decided against it and I didn't have to kill her...

And then my sister liked her stuff: I picked her up season two of Slings & Arrows, Volume three of Family Guy, and then I got her a Heroes teeshirt.

**

Tomorrow I see the little bit and Nancy. Little Bit wants to see Night at the Museum, but I think we'll probably do that later in the week. Tomorrow we just might watch rented movies and such...and let her and Nancy open their gifts and such. Her gift from me is to Borders and from my mother it's Build-A-Bear...guess who will have to take her there? Yeah, me. I'm always the one who gets suckered into these things because she has had me wrapped around her finger since she was only a few months old.

**

Alrighty, off to read, read, read!

Love y'all! Ciao darlings!
tommygirl: (Default)
Dexter season finale is less than five hours a way. I'm very excited about this. This show is just amazing and maybe it should creep me out that I totally love Dexter and feel for him at times, but it doesn't.

**

[livejournal.com profile] yuletide fic is now in the hands of my betas! Wah-hoo! It's done. And like I thought, it wasn't too hard once I got it started and had a basic idea for where I wanted to go with the thing. Now I just need to wait on my betas to rip it apart and make my edits.

Of course now I have a few other challenge pieces to focus on before I can relax and just enjoy the bounty of much good fic.

But yes,

Dear [livejournal.com profile] yuletide recipient,

If you stumble upon this journal and see my grumblings about writing, please do not worry or think ill of me. It wasn't the prompts that bothered me. I really *loved* the prompts. It was just me doing my normal yuletide freak out.

Love,

Tommygirl

**

Remember my love of cheesy Christmas movies? The type that make me cringe, but still I watch and love...

my sister and I watched The Christmas Card. Oh my god, it was so bad, but i loved every second of it. It was just...first, I think it was written by a non-christian who had a very specific idea of what Christians are like. Because I'm Catholic and I know we're the bad Christians of the universe, but never did our pastor stop church to make the new people introduce themselves. And what was with the really school marm clothing they all wore?

Just bizarre.

But I still loved it, dammit.

**

Alrighty, rather than starting the next fic like I should, I'm totally rewarding myself with some fic and then I'm gonna rewatch last week's Dexter before the finale.

Ciao darlings!
tommygirl: (friday night lights - coach and matt)
Dear [livejournal.com profile] yuletide fic:

Please write yourself now. It would be lovely to at least get a first draft done so I'm not completely crying over my lack of productivity.

Love,

Tommygirl

**

Tomorrow night is the season finale of Dexter and I'm very excited. This is one of those shows that is good from start to finish, no annoying moments of wishing it would get back to the point. And I love Dexter Morgan. I feel weird saying I love a sociopathic serial killer, but I do. I'm apparently taking my love of the "bad boy" to a whole new extreme.

Here's to also hoping that Michael C. Hall wins the Golden Globe. I love Keifer as Jack Bauer so much, but he won last year (right? Or was that the Emmy he won?). Let's spread the love around.

And why don't I have any Dexter icons? That's a sad thing.

**

I am finished my holiday shopping. Now I have to wrap it all and mail a few things out to people, but it's done. I'm currently in between holiday parties, but I've almost made it through my social butterfly requirements for the year. That really just leaves a ton of writing and beta work to be done.

In the meantime, quickly catching up on friends list before I must attend a carolling party. The little bit told me that I will hang out with her all night, so who can resist the cutest seven-year-old to walk the planet? Not me, even though I don't carol.

Ciao darlings!
tommygirl: (jack bauer/sydney bristow)
Everyone on my friends list is talking about finishing up their yuletide fics and I haven't even started mine yet. Though, I've talked it out via email with [livejournal.com profile] larah33 and I think I finally know what I'm going to write. And for me, that's a huge part of the battle.

But dude, you guys are all so good at finishing things early.

**

In other news, I found out this morning that I get to begin my vacation next Friday with out-patient surgery. Ugh. It's nothing serious, something quite stupid actually, but it's just annoying. Not how I planned on starting my break from work.

**

So where is all the Post Croatoan wincest where Sam and Dean try to deal with *that* scene? Me wants the precious.

Okay, right now I'm in the mood for any really good, angsty wincest. Or some post Fallout Petrelli brothers (gen or slash). Damn me and my weird brother kink.

Ciao darlings!
tommygirl: (the class - kat & ethan)
Dear [livejournal.com profile] yuletide Santa:

Thank you so much for taking on this endeavor. You are one of my favorite people ever because you offered to write in one of the four fandoms I'm aching for fic in. So thank you so much and just know that I will appreciate all your hard work. I'm a huge fan of banter and strong character relationships and I like angst with happy endings. Character pieces are more than welcome, but so are plotty fics if that's what you prefer. Honestly, there isn't much in fic from these fandoms that I wouldn't enjoy - the only thing I'm really not into is violence/rape used as a way to get people together - and just knowing that there will be fic for me on Christmas will make my day.

Thunderbirds - Wow, if you actuallly offered to write this fic, you are my HERO. Seriously, I crave good Thunderbirds fic like whoa. I have a huge love of brotherly relationships, so if you can work in the Tracy brothers being all brotherly and protective of one another, that would be great. I put that I'd like Post movie fic in the details, but really, I have no cares about the timeline - so move it forward, take it to the past, or set it in the present. Whatever you want, you have my attention.

Earth 2 - I love True. I love True's interactions with her father and always felt like there wasn't enough of it on the show. I think it would be interesting to see a future fic where True and Uly move to a romantic place, but seriously, I'll love anything that deals with True handling her new life (and coming to accept it) on the planet.

The Class - This is one of my new favorite shows and aside from one wonderful person on my friends list, I have not been able to track down fic for it. The four characters in my details are the four characters that I love on the show. I'm partial to the chemistry between Kat and Ethan especially...and the banter and the fun.

Blade Trinity - I love the relationship between Hannibal and Abigail. In the details, I listed it as a romantic relationship in the aftermath of the movie, however, any exploration of their relationship (whether romantic or platonic) would be adored.

oh Santa, you totally rock for daring to undertake one of these four choices and I know that I will love whatever you write me. Please realize that my details are just to give you some ideas if you're stuck. I know that some writers like to have more to work with than just a character and a fandom, but if inspiration takes you in another direction than the details, don't worry. If you'd like further examples of the types of fics that I love, feel free to peruse [livejournal.com profile] polyfandomrecs for a bunch of my recs. But trust me on this santa, I'm an easy girl to please.

Take care!

Tommygirl

Dude, my co-worker, Mike, is a drinking ENABLER and I am a lightweight when it comes to alcohol. It was just a very interesting happy hour that lasted a whole lot longer. Well, by the end it was me, Mike, and two others...fun times.

By the time I got home, I simply collapsed into bed so Supernatural did not get watched until this morning...

My thoughts on the episode - possible spoilers included... )

**

I signed up for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide on Friday morning because I wanted to get my requests in so that I didn't forget (as I'm prone to do with most things)...but I keep pondering it and looking at the requested fandoms to see if I want to change any of my requests or fandoms I'll write in. Mostly, the fandoms I'll write in though because I'm happy with the four requests I made. Sure, I'd love to make a few more because I'm a greedy whore, but I'm happy with my choices...and they shall remain a mystery because I'm crazy like that.

But dude, Thunderbirds made the list and someone other than me offered to write them! How happy does that make me? I love that movie and the show and dude, it has BROTHERLY LOVE (Not like the levels of SPN) and it's awesome and cheesy fun.

Twilight by Stephanie Meyer is also on the list and I offered to write that one. I'm already working on one story for that because my sister demanded it of me. She came to me asking if there was any fanfiction out there and I replied that any I had found would make the baby Jesus cry...so now I have to write it for her.

**

And no, I didn't do any of my writing to do list today. The landlord was out to take a look at all the crap going on in the house (most of which was CAUSED by his handyman FIXING things) and then I went to Target with the mother. Came home, watched Prince and Me 2 with her because I adore it and Target had it for 10 bucks so we got it, and then I napped. Because it's my weekend and I love napping. Had dream where Dean Winchester was dating Vincent Chase. Now thinking of adding that to my Dean Crossover of Doom because it was hot (I was Vince's marysue bestest friend in the dream!) Sadly, when I awoke from my nap, my sister dragged me on errands with her.

Tomorrow, people. I will write. Dammit, I *must*. Beat the crap out of me if you notice me dawdling about.

**

A few more Dean fic ideas:

-So there was a show a few years ago that only me and my sister seemed to watch called Dead Last, where these three musicians found an amulet and suddenly they could see ghosts and had to help them. And they hated it. And I want Dean to have something like that happen. Hee. Where he picks up some amulet and next thing he knows, he sees dead people. So he starts wearing sunglasses and pretending he doesn't notice all the people, but they keep bothering him to help them with their unfinished business. And Sam keeps wondering who the hell Dean is talking to because Dean doesn't want to worry Sam at first...but finally he's just like, "dude, these fucking ghosts better shut up or I'm going to salt their asses." Really, it could be so much better if someone wrote it.

-Christmas Fic based of It's a Wonderful World. Since Dean is dealing with his whole "I don't belong here, I should be dead" woes, I think it would be great if he saw how bad things would be without him in the world.

Feel free to write them. I can't. I just can't, people. It would never get done for I am a lazy whore.

**

Alrighty, I shall bid you all adieu for the night.

Ciao.
tommygirl: (not quite winchestercon - survived)
To get things started, for those that were either at the real winchestercon (welcome back my darlings!) and/or doing other things this weekend that didn't involve [livejournal.com profile] win_non_con, make sure to check out the the treasure hunt booty haul and see many brilliant & hilarious things, like the many ways that Sam & Dean Winchester *accidentally* killed Fozzie Bear. Y'all will love it. So check it out.

**

So I'm strangely attached to Brothers and Sisters on Sunday nights. It's one of three shows that I watch while it's on - Supernatural and Veronica Mars are the others - no matter what. Everything else ends up on my Tivo if I don't have time. I can't even put a finger on what it is about this show that I enjoy so much. Maybe it's simply because I was expecting to hate it and ended up really enjoying the first few episodes.

I'm also enjoying The Nine, but it's one of those things I'm not sure how long they can drag out. However, it has fueled creative juices that I will explain at a later time. But is it sad to get a small smile at the fact that Wednesdays on ABC is like Party of Five reunion night - Matthew on Lost and Scott on The Nine.

**

I decided on my six fandoms for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide. I know that [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy ended up nominating a few that I had originally planned on such as Megan McCafferty's books, Entourage, and Twilight...so I nominated Queer As Folk UK for her.

Then my other five were: Earth 2, Blade Trinity, Young Riders, The Class, and Thunderbirds.

And okay, I nominated Thunderbirds, but I'm not sure it's obscure so much as "all the fic that exists is, for the most part, really, really bad - but I couldn't think of anything else while I was signing up. I had nomination anxiety.

So yeah, those are my six. Five of which I would totally write it they were choices...well, depending on what else makes the list. Because like I said, I love some of the ones that Steph nominated and I know [livejournal.com profile] aliaspiral put in the nomination for Road to Avonlea and there needs to be more Gus Pike fic!

Of course though I think me and [livejournal.com profile] zeplum are the only ones who will appreciate fic for The Class - and until she gives into the muse to write them, people, I figure yuletide was a good place to start.

**

So [livejournal.com profile] mel_b_angel created the Tuesday Ten today...so I figured I would give it a go...

Ten answers to ten questions... )

**

Some pimpage:

-Again go check out the treasure hunt booty if you love Supernatural. there is a ton of amazing, hysterical, clever things up for your enjoyment.

-The Het Fic Friending Meme - a way for others who enjoy the hetfic to find one another. Personally, I'm a girl who loves both slash & het, depending on the fandom/characters, but that works too.

-SPN Santa for Supernatural is taking sign-ups until October 22nd!

-[livejournal.com profile] moviefanfiction is always open for all your movie fanfiction needs. If you have any movie fic, feel free to post it. If you're looking for movie fic, check out the memories to see if we have what you want. And, as always, feel free to pimp this to anyone you know that loves fanfiction for movies. Because really, I'd love for this to become a sort of easy-to-access archive.

Summary: Set throughout the series, True Danziger tries to make sense of her new life.
A/N: This was my contribution to [livejournal.com profile] yuletide. Much love to [livejournal.com profile] ladybug218 and [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy for the amazing beta work and to [livejournal.com profile] aliaspiral for reading it over to make sure the True voice worked. Feedback always appreciated.

The request was for a character study of True and hopefully that's what I wrote... )

A lot of these have been recced already, but I finally compiled my first set of Yuletide 2005 Recs over at [livejournal.com profile] polyfandomrecs. There may be more down the line when I go back and read some of the other fandoms that I know. Basically I went through the ones that I love first and then will go back and read the ones that I tend to stay on the periphery for, or didn't even think of fic about before it was written.

Cannot bring myself to think about the Care Bears' Story. It scarred me for life. Slave Bear will be in my nightmares for years to come.

Finished my Pretty Lights Story just in the nick of time once it was edited. Gotta love my betas for consistently ripping my stuff apart, especially Steph who is very good about calling me on my redundancy problem. I think I suffer from short term amnesia while writing first drafts of stories.

Watched the pilot of Supernatural this evening. Loving seeing all the episodes again, but is it two weeks from now yet? Yes, I realize my vacation will be over and I'll be back at work - but lordy...I miss new Dean and Sam adventures.

Okay, off to read and sleep. I had the little bit this afternoon and that can be exhausting. She's such a sarcastic, evil six-year-old and somehow I get blamed for this. (I also get blamed for her undying devotion to Nsync that started when she was five months old. hee)

Ciao my friends.
