tommygirl: (burn notice - fi)
So new episodes of Greek began airing last night. It's sitting on my dvr to be watched when I have a free moment not taken up by insanity. I also got a present from Amazon today - it didn't say who sent it - but it was Supernatural Season 4. Maybe it's a sign that I'm supposed to finish the flipping season already. I don't know what my deal has been with finishing up the season. Yeah, part of it is that I don't want my boys at odds with one another, but it's not like I don't know that I'll end up at least liking (probably loving) the episodes. At the very least, I could finally catch up on tons of fic that is based on the whole season. And really, sometimes a girl needs her fic priorities.

I got a few Borders gift cards too and since this is me, I went and spent it right away. And it was perfect timing as they had seasons of Felicity AND Alias on sale, so I was able to finish up my collections of both of those shows. I'm especially excited to get seasons 3 and 4 of Felicity, especially three as it's one of my favorites. And I was the girl who wanted Felicity to get BOTH boys. I loved her with Ben, but I also loved her with Noel as they both complemented her in different ways.

As for Alias, I picked up the last two seasons. Not my favorites, but a girl never tires of Sydney kicking ass and Spy!Daddy doing whatever necessary. Still think that Will shouldn't have disappeared...even though it doesn't seem to have hurt Bradley Cooper's career at all.

I'm now slowly catching up on Burn Notice. I *finally* finished season two and am into season three. I know I've mentioned it before, but it needs repeating: I love Michael/Fi. As a team, I love Michael, Fi, and Sam, and as much as Fi & Sam bicker, you just know they'd have each others backs regardless of Michael at this point. But really, I just love Fi. I think she's the one woman on the planet who can pull off a fanny pack and look cool and tough. And Michael just needs to suck it up and go with it.

I finished reading Generation Kill last week. Good book that made me want to pull out my dvds. And now I'm reading One Bullet Away by Nathaniel Fick. I really like the very different views of everything. Wright came at it as a reporter and Fick was in the heart of these battles with real lives on the line. I'm about halfway through and I think what I'm enjoying most is the way Fick explains all these life philosophies that were instilled him. Not just blow shit up, but ways of viewing the world.

There's also a chance I'm a bit biased toward marines, as crazy as they are. My brother was a marine and he served in the first gulf war.

So I'm trying really hard to adhere to a budget lately. Mostly out of necessity with house things coming up and such. But I cheated and bought myself two birthday gifts. One was a specialized mouse pad of Stitch that says "TommyGirl" because I'm a big loser. The other was season two of Digging for the Truth on dvd, only further proving that I'm nerd. But I loved that show. And not just because Josh was hot. It was interesting and funny (not on purpose - but whoever did the planning of their journeys really should've been fired) and yes, Josh is very hot.

Is it normal to play Wii Rockband and walk away with the strong urge to play drums? Because now I want a drum set and nobody but me thinks this is a good idea.

[livejournal.com profile] yuletide is open for nominations. I pondered long and hard on my nominations and came up with the following: Samantha Who, Privileged (I want Megan/Charlie fic, my friends), Road to Avonlea, The Outsiders, Blade movies, and Thunderbirds. I was going to nominate The Class, but I'm hoping someone else will take care of that. I mean, there should always be the option of writing Ethan/Kat.

Have not watched Heroes from last night yet, but I did see Chuck. Spoilers... )

I think there is a new episode of Fringe on tonight. I quite enjoy this show. I don't think it's brilliant, but it's definitely entertaining (when it's not grossing me out). And it has the added bonus of characters I like, especially one played by Josh Jackson. It's Pacey all grown up with scruff and a genius IQ.

For those that missed it, I highly recommend checking out the Treasure Hunt Booty from [livejournal.com profile] win_non_con. Miss Piggy's past relationship with Dean Winchester is a personal favorite.
tommygirl: (iron man - awesome)
Dear All My Children,

Please make Annie go away. I hate her. Oh, I hate her in a way I haven't hated a soap character since Livvie on Port Charles. And at least Livvie was interesting. Annie is just dull and annoying.

No love,

Tommygirl

I just watched the pilot of Fringe. You know, I didn't think I could love Josh Jackson more than I do as Pacey, but his character on this is just hot, sarcastic, and a genius! And did I mention hot? With the scruff and awesomeness?

The pilot was a bit freaky at parts. The beginning was a little slow, but once it got going it was really interesting. Though JJ really does love to make his lead female characters suffer, doesn't he?

I wonder if I've broken my no-writing spell with the little Iron Man ficlet. I hardly claim brilliance, but just being able to string together a few sentences is a miracle. I really hope it continues.

New Alias tonight. And it has Sark and that makes me extremely happy! I need something to hold onto after all. I mean, I've been enjoying this season for what it is, and I don't miss Vaughn all that much (I don't think I've gotten over his season three portrayal enough to miss him - though I still love Michael Vartan)...but it'll be nice to see a familiar face. Especially Sark's face. Raar. So pretty!

I'd really like it though if we could have Weiss and Sark back for the remainder of the run of the show. That would make me so happy.

I updated my website last night and it was hell. I wrote a lot since the last update (well, a lot for me) and it took forever for me to go through and add things. I must remember not to go so long without updating because I hate nothing as much as coding my website. Bah. But yes, everything should be at the website now if you're interested - though almost all of it is located in my livejournal memories too.

Also put up some more recs over at [livejournal.com profile] polyfandomrecs. That's the new Rec journal that [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy and I created together. We both read a whole lot, we're both picky, and we both like different pairings/shows a lot of the time. So yes, feel free to friend or check it out - I will warn...we're still updating a lot at the moment just to get all our recs in order at the one location, so it might spam the friends list in the beginning.

Still have tons more fannish things to do this month - holiday ficathons are coming up quicker than I expected and I really need to get some of those stories finished. Otherwise Steph and Jen will kill me when I overload them for beta services. Hee.

If livejournal could stop filling my inbox with month old comments, I'd greatly appreciate it. Ugh.

Have a good day, y'all. And remember - new Sark-filled alias tonight!

Written For: [livejournal.com profile] nickeyb for the Jack/Sawyer/Kate Ficathon with Charlie, whiskey, forgiveness included.
A/N: Both Jack and Sawyer were being quite impossible to write for awhile there and I must thank [livejournal.com profile] ladybug218 for helping me create something readable. It's set up through the last episode that aired (so all but the finale) so there will be spoilers if you're not caught up. Hopefully it's enjoyable and feedback is always appreciated.

Jack often lived in absolutes prior to Oceanic Flight 815... )
