It feels like it's been so long that I've done a real update here - things have been a bit hectic and when I've had time to do updates, I've been mildly scatterbrained and/or not in the mood. Instead I've been reading a lot of fic, reading regular books (which I've been slacking on - I used to read over a book a week and it's stopped...not good), and watching movies.
I've also been in a political mindset as of late, what with the Inauguration quickly approaching and my hatred for this administration...I like to keep that out of this journal. randombtchchick for my angered liberal expounding) and I know that I have people on my list who differ with me on this. I don't want to start a war, but know that the fact that city of DC has to pick up the bill for this party, during a war, really burns me up. So, taking a note from my mother, I decided it was best not to say anything in fear of upsetting everyone.

I had pulled this out to post on Monday, but my own ennui got in the way. So it's a few days late, but still an important speech to read and remember every once and awhile. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a man who believed in America and its people. He believed that peaceful protest and being right would eventually win out. He believed that people were innately good. How can you not respect that man?

So enough of me treading from my normal over here. Let's get back to the fandom stuff:
1) I will not get sucked into American Idol this year. I will not get sucked into American Idol this year. - I say this every year. It has yet to stick. I'm just hoping the copious amounts of overplay a week might aid me in my not watching.
2) Battlestar Galatica is my new crack. I love it. Why does the Sci Fi channel own my soul like this? Why did I have to get into another show? Don't I have enough television to ingest?
3) I've seen the squee all over my friend's list and the like, but am I the only one ( spoilers from last wednesday's lost, in case some people still haven't seen it... )
4) Golden Globes were okay. Only Johnny Depp can pull off the look he went with and still be hot and cool. Javier Bardem is so yummy - I wish he had won. I still don't get the appeal of Sideways - I wasn't impressed with it when I saw it. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't "brilliant" either. Can someone explain the appeal of it to me?
5) West Wing really has gotten good again this season. It's still not season 1 or 2 (my favorites), but it's not the incredible crap that last season was. I love Josh again...he's back to his roots. Do hate Will a lot, considering his character had such potential? But I liked the "you run a campaign for a dead man because of the importance of the debate and getting the right man in office." This Will, who would run a campaign for a candidate he knows is subpar, just bothers me.

I've been writing a bit. I've been battling Battlestar Galatica bunnies involving Lee - must not give in. Have too much to write. The next chapter of Trouble In My Head is almost done and should be in my trusty betas hands very soon.
Have reached a new low in my own fanfiction-reading lameness - as I've been searching for good, angsty Thunderbirds fanfiction. Oh, I'm broken. So very, very broken!
