Ended up back in the doctor's office today and am on bedrest for the rest of my life. Or just the weekend, but it might as well be rest of my life. Damn you illness! Just go away already!

But, it gave me an excuse to sit around watching television this afternoon upon returning from doctor. I got One Tree Hill season one at Target for eighteen bucks! Love my happy Naley! Tonight's Smallville was wonderful until the last few minutes. Then I wanted to go spork my eyes out a la Oedipus. Alias is on the Tivo for later viewing for my One Tree Hill dvds are a calling me back. Damn that Nathan!

I don't think I've gone on quite enough about how much I adore Supernatural. And I so didn't expect that as I feared that I wouldn't be able to let go of hatred of Dean from Gilmore Girls. But I can, and actually like the character of Sam.

But it's all about Dean.

Okay, it's really all about Sam and Dean interacting because I have this weird obsession with brotherly bonds and just...it's what I wanted out of a possible Charmed spin-off, one that focused on Wyatt & Chris all grown up and fighting demons. So how can I not love it?

yuletide is getting ready to start its next year. This year though, if you didn't participate in last year's challenge and/or wrote a New Years Challenge, you can't participate. So go write a story for one of the unfilled requests by October 31st and you'll be all set to go. It's a really fabulous challenge and the end result is always tons of AMAZING fic in those fandoms that get neglected.

Mare, you KNOW I'm not going to pass up an offer like that...I will gladly take any Naley fic that your brain feels the need to spit out.

This is shocking, I know, but the season premiere was actually, dare I say it, GOOD. I mean, not that this show was ever stellar with the writing or the acting necessarily, but any thing good about it went in to the shitter long long ago...but the premiere brought a little of the old charm back. (My roommates argue that this is only because there was some Naley action and that clouds my vision of the rest of the episode. Probably true. But them together makes everything else so shiny and awesome!) There was genuine emotion! And they're trying to wrap up the retardedness of some of last season's plotlines and make it (kinda) realistic again! At least so far! And they played basketball! And Haley went back to being the character she was meant to be and not that...ugh god I can't even think about it it makes me too angry.

I'm too wrapped up this show for my own good. However, I have convinced everyone that our new show is Veronica Mars after OTH is over, and let me tell you -- trying to explain the back story of last season is a pain in my ass. Especially because they're both terrible with character names.

"Ok, so that guy was her boyfriend at the end of last season, his mom killed herself and his dad killed his girlfriend after he slept with her."

"Wait so who's this guy she's dating now?"

"His dad does software stuff, but his parents moved away and now he lives in a hotel. He was Veronica's boyfriend before her best friend got killed, who was also his sister and the other guy's girlfriend. THey broke up after he kinda raped her at a party, but not on purpose, like he didn't mean it like that and Veronica doesn't consider it rape but then he ignored her for a long time. Oh, and he has epilepsy."

"That guy?"

"No, he's a deputy in th epolice department. Veronica dated him too."

"Veronica's a little whore. What about him?"

(etc, etc, etc.)

I missed the season premiere this year. Just last year on OTH killed me (not in the happy killed way like first season VM did) and you know it's because Naley was that show's saving grace (in my eyes anyway). But if there was Naley in the premiere...do I need to have watched all of season 2 to follow? Maybe I'll download.

I just love season one and all it's over-the-top angst. It's perfect. And it has the blossoming of Nathan and Haley and all that fun, before they went and got married and screwed it up.

So yeah, expect some season 1 Naley from me sometime soon.

And yay for VM and getting people hooked. Love that show. It's snarky and has a Logan and a Weevil.

i think season 2 is skippable in its entirety. the very, very early episodes have some naley cuteness, but its all of the married variety and is thus inherently "meh."

there's also a fun episode where they visit the "what if" world where dan had married karen instead of deb...which is basically just a reshoot of the pilot with the characters switched? but there's lots of snarky in-comments for those who are obsessed with the show and know the ins and outs to laugh at the jokes. (i think its episode 20 or 21 -- "lifetime piling up." only one worth a download, i think.) other than that i can fill you in on anything you missed that would be relevant to season 3, if you like.

i wouldn't recommend that anyone sit through it. the new characters sucked, so thank god they were written out, all the plot twists were totally contrived (the marriage being the LEAST of worries) and everything that was good about the show went to pieces in the second season.

anyway, i'll let you know if the premiere was just a fluke or if the second episode is any good either that you should be lured back in to tivo-ing it. ;)

and so looking forward to the fic! my usual sources have dried up and there's seriosuly very little else for me to do with my time, here. :P
