So last year, there was the wish list meme that went around before the holidays where people could do nice things for others…well, I’ve decided it was time to restart that. Because I’d love to do things for the people on my friends list for the holidays, but I have no money…so post this in your journal and let’s see what can come of it.

Step One

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

1. If you're capable of doing so, make a monetary donation or donate blood/time to the Red Cross.

2. A banner and help figuring out how to make a layout for my journal based off any of my interests and some icons to go with it – I’m graphically challenged, my friends. It’s sad.

3. I love the sibling bond and would love fic that deals with that from any of my fandoms – Lost, Charmed, Supernatural, Tru Calling, etc.

4. A 24/Alias crossover story where Jack Bauer and Sydney Bristow get together.

5. Drabbles/ficlets on any of my interests.

6. Hot fanfic based off interests, especially some bad!boy Clark fiction (Smallville) and/or Vince/Eric (Entourage)

7. Any songs one considers amazing.

8. A Jack/Sawyer story where the two reminisce about suckiness that is the holidays and end up making out!

9. A Harry/Oliver drabble/ficlet/story. So long as it’s Harry/Oliver, length doesn’t matter.

10. Some angst fic. Love the angst fic, especially in O.C., Charmed, and Sports Night fandoms.

11. Books. Used books, new books, all genres of books. I love books. If that's something you want to share, just email me (tommygirl828@gmail.com)

I can surely do number 1 (that sounds so bad!). In fact, it was with you in mind that I made my appointment to donate blood where I work. It takes an hour and a half and keeps me out of the office! WoO HOO!

Yay! I wish I could give blood, but I'm not allowed due to heart problems and the like. And I feel so bad about it because I'm the universal donor. SO thank you!

yay YOU for starting this up well in advance of the holidays so I'm not running around like a nut at the last freakin' minute!

Yeah, that's why I did it now, especially with the 100 challenges...I really need the time to produce things for my friends for the holidays in any decent time frame.

I claim number 2 and possibly a ficlet from number 3. I see a Chris & Wyatt layout in your future. ^.~

Oh cool! I love all icons so long as they're not made by me. Mine are terrible. I'm just not gifted that way.

Ahhh...you are a lifesaver. I was going to do it the legal ITunes way, but they want to make me buy the whole album. So damn the legal way!

I'll be happy to go in and see if they'll let me donate blood; I used to do it all the time, but I'm not sure what the policy is regarding diabetes and hypertension. If not blood, I can give cash.

But I'm not posting my own list this year. I did it last year and then things got away from me and most of the wishes I wanted to do for others didn't get done. Bad me. No cookie.

Yay for donations to Red Cross! They do lotsa good throughout the world, but it depends on all of us to aid. So thank you!

That's why I started it a little earlier this year. I'm hoping the extra time will give me more time to do things for people - last year I only did a few.

I've got No. 1 taken care of. I am a health and safety instructor (first aid/CPR and lifeguarding) as well as a disaster team volunteer in Florida's Coast to Coast chapter of the American Red Cross (based out of Daytona).

Yay! Dude, you do a whole lot! Impressive.

It sounds a lot more impressive than it is -- I only teach maybe two classes a year and have been involved with just one disaster -- but every little bit helps, right? :)

Most definitely every little bit helps - or so I tell myself. Since starting grad school while working, I had to cut down on my volunteer stuff and I feel so bad. But then I say, "Self, at least you're doing something. So yay for you! You rock!

I am actually giving blood... Either next week or in two weeks as Red Cross will be at my school.

And as for some songs that I consider amazing:

"Here I Am" and "Autumn's Song" from Manic Mind
"Break Out" by The Consequence
"Strong Enough to Break," "Lost Without Each Other," "Crazy Beautiful," and "Hey" from Hanson
"That Girl" by Alexz Johnson
"How Did You Know" from Gary Valenciano
"Angel Eyes" from Jim Brickman (all piano)

If you need any, let me know.. I have them all on my iTunes.. Almost all

1) Yay for giving blood.

2) Yay for new music - I'll have to check them out (and if I can't find them on my own, I just might hit you up for the files. hee)! Love new music.

I give blood every six weeks like clockwork. And it's wonderful to see so many other people so as well.

That totally rocks. I've recently had to stop giving blood for health reasons, so I try to make up for it other ways (such as pestering people on livejournal!)

I got up to 50 donations and had to stop. But the health reasons for stopping are under control, so I need to check about the meds I'm on and can probably start giving again. I'll use this as the push to do the med check and make a donation appt before Christmas!
