Here I Am

So it's that time of year for wish lists and such. I'm trying to save them as I go, but feel free to link me to your wishlist as I would like to do something small for any of you if I can. As usual, because I'm poor, I tend to keep my list fannish/creative because that's all I really can return. And it's the small things that always make me happy anyway.

Again, I wish I could do things like buy y'all books and such, but I'm broke as broke could be, so I try to stick to the small things and don't ask more of that than anyone else.

So as I make my way through season two of Numb3rs, I must ask for recs to the good fic. You know me and my sibling kink. I'm a very bad girl, but I'll also take gen if it's filled with the Don & Charlie! I found a few stories, but they seemed to suffer from the fate of a lot of the NCIS fic out there with the weird fixation on the word "lover." Over and over again and it just makes me giggle.

I'm doing mini-nano this year and along with a bunch of current pieces and very late b-day ficlets to finish, I want to do some wish list stuff for people if I can.

New Chuck tonight. This makes me so happy. And Heroes seems to slowly be picking up speed. But I've got to be honest, it's all about Chuck. I walk away from each episode extremely giddy and wanting more, the way I used to feel about Heroes.

Is there any fic about Chuck's sister (is it Ellie? I can never remember) and Captain Awesome? Send me links if you know of some.

So yeah, it's all fannish things because I just feel most comfortable that way and dude, fannish things are sometime the MOST fun.

I tried to catch up on the friends list throughout the week, but I'm afraid that I ended up skimming at times. Not my normal, but gah, sometimes real life likes to kill me dead. Between the new rules for Medicare that I had to figure out for work (in order to explain it to my co-workers and create a required notice) and the fact that my partner in crime at the office was out sick all week - I haven't done anything outside actual work all week. And that includes stuff for school.

Ack.

So yes, I have a ton of writing to do, a whole lot of fanfiction reading, and some beta and rec work as well. My point? If it seems like I'm spamming my list this weekend, I apologize ahead of time. I've just had a ton of half-started things on my computer that I hope to finish today.

Or maybe I'll just watch my first season Entourage dvds again. (Speaking of - iamtheenemy, you may have been kidding about CSI dvds to get me addicted, but I'm so getting you the Entourage dvds so you'll write me lots of fic!)

I've been seeing the wish list meme pop up on the friends list! Yay! I love being able to do things for people if I can - and as I'm completely poor, ficlets and the like are where my talents will lie.

But in case you missed it: My Wishlist - made up entirely of things that cost no money!. I'd feel weird asking for things of monetary value since I can't reciprocate, so yeah.

I do love this time of year and all the wonderful chances to do fic for other people.

There's yuletide, which I'm all signed up for (and ladybug218 and I were smart to make sure we won't end up with one another since she's one of my two betas), and sesa_discuss and undermistletoe! There are a bunch of other ones, but if I signed up for any more than that, I wouldn't be able to do wish list/holiday fic for people...so yeah, I had to limit my insanity a tad.

But it's just fun. I like happy fandom and around the holidays, fandoms seems to agree to be happy in general.

It's been a long couple of days. Have seen Serenity and I'm still trying to process the whole experience (aside from the getting lost on the way there because Mapquest sucks!). I'll do a review of it once I feel more coherent. All I will say now is that you should go see the movie when it opens - if you haven't watched the show, you don't have to worry. It makes sense as a movie. If you loved the show, you will adore it and run the emotional gamut throughout.

Otherwise this weekend my plans were to do some writing - that didn't happen. Instead I went to see Batman Begins with hot boys - Christian Bale and Cillian Murphy in the same movie...hotness! I watched a few movies that my sister and I had rented and then pulled out the Firefly dvds because I have an addiction.

Anyway, I have a lot of writing to get done this week. A lot. I don't know why I procrastinate so much with things like this. I tell myself that I won't any longer, but I always do. It's just...it's as though my brain and creativity can't function with a lot of time to spare. Or so I tell myself.

5. Keifer Sutherland - the voice! Though I'm the first to admit, I love Jack Bauer much more than Keifer himself...but he's so shy and adorable in interviews. Shoebox!

7. Iaon Gruffud - because I develop crushes early on, I saw him in Titanic and wished he had more of a part and then Horatio Hornblower did me in! So pretty!

I feel wrong limiting it to ten like this. I mean, what about Michael Phelps? Or Ryan Gosling? Or Matt Damon?

Gah, how can one girl choose? I plan to have them all around me, fanning me with oversized feathers, when I rule the world (like you do).

dragonsinger wanted to know what stories in our various fandoms we would like to see. She says that she's a picky reader - well, if she is, I don't want to know what I am. I like to think it's because of time constraints and that due to my lack of time, I tend to stick with the authors I know or give stories only so long to pull me in. I must admit though that a part of it is definitely my own issues with what I consider bad characterization and/or bad grammar kills me. Kills me dead!
