Friday is here! Weekend is almost upon me! And I have no real plans aside from continuing with unpacking and doing some reading/writing.
**
I can't believe it's almost October. In two weeks it's birthday weekend for Mylia and I get to hang out with some of my favorite people. Then the following weekend is
winchestercon. Alas, I can still only make it for Saturday, but I would love to meet some of you for lunch and/or dinner! I really wanted to do the whole shebang, but this owning a house thing ate up alot of my money and I can't really afford a hotel in Baltimore, no matter how much I want to. Stupid mortgage and growing up!
But yes, dear friends list, those going to
winchestercon, let me know if we can meet up! I love you guys and want to hang!
Also,
pheebs1 and
ladybug218 are helping me with
win_non_con this year, but if any of you aren't going to the actual con and can help with the online version, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm hoping this weekend to get together the itinerary.

And on the topic of Supernatural...let's talk last night's episode.
Episode 4.2 - Are You There God? It's Me, Dean Winchester
I was a little disappointed that we didn't pick off with Castiel and Dean, but I do know my show and expected it wouldn't happen.
Creepy, angry victims that couldn't be saved killing poor lady hunter.
I love that Dean told Bobby and Sam about Castiel (though I doubt he told him everything), but doesn't really believe it. I love that both Sam and Bobby seem to believe it and that the whole thing really does play into Dean's own issues of self-worth. I mean, I get the not understanding how God could exist when a world is so screwed up (especially given all he's seen), but considering he's a hunter, fighting the fight, it's just so Dean not to understand how he could possibly matter.
I do think it also has a lot to do with being the ONLY person who can possibly get through to Sam if things continue down his path.
The scene with Ruby didn't really add a whole lot to anything, since I would imagine she would be scared of an angel. Considering how only a few days ago, no one know what was going on, and now word has spread. I did like the look she gave Sam though when he said he wasn't afraid of angels. Oh Sammy.
I do think it's odd though that Sam believes Castiel is an angel who saves Dean and needs him, but hasn't told Dean about what he's doing with Ruby. The only thing I can think is that Sam really believes the ends justify the means with his using these powers to kill demons and working with Ruby.
The Henrickson scenes didn't do as much for me as the ones with Meg. Because I think it struck with Dean on the sibling front and what losing a sibling does to the surviving one...and I think with Sam, it could've served as a wake-up call as sorts (how he now doesn't seem to care about the poor girl(s) being possessed by Ruby). I did love how he just got this look on his face and then shot her. Badass, Sam. I love you lots.
Oh Dean trying to explain things. And oh show with the hitting us over the head with "dean can't understand why he's saved and others aren't" theme.
The panic room! And the boys' reactions! I loved it! Bobby is awesome.
Apocalypse is underway.
I really liked the scene between Dean and Castiel. I love that Castiel pointed out the distinction between fluffy angels and the soldiers of God of the Bible. Because I think that's going to be really important, especially considering Dean tends to be very rigid in his black-and-white view of good versus bad...and Castiel has his eye on a bigger picture.
And it's looking more and more like the Sam versus Dean situation since Sam is supposed to be the one that brings about Lucifer's return (which makes me wonder why Lilith is doing it) and Dean is supposed to work with Castiel to stop it.
Overall, a good episode. I would love some more Sam and Dean moments. That's the main reason I love this show, but I'm giving them some room because I think they're trying to accomplish a lot for a reason.
Next week should be awesome. I can't wait. I love this show.
Note: As long as you don't share spoilers with me (beyond the preview that's aired), I'm up for any discussions. I tend to squee, but I have no problems if people have issues so long as we all play nice.

I finally watched the summer finale of Burn Notice. All I will say is thank GOD it's coming back in January! And I love Michael! And I love Sam! And I love Fi! And I love Michael and Fi! And...such a good show.
**
Yesterday I asked for first lines and I would write ficlets. It's not too late to play, so long as I know the fandom. I'm not doing them in any order. Mostly going with whatever strikes my muse. I really need to do some writing.
**
Finally, will the debate happen tonight? I was all excited it for it before McCain started pulling this stuff. I want my nerdy goodness, dammit.

Date: 2008-09-26 03:40 pm (UTC)Okay, apparently it's still up in the air, according to The Washington Post. (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/25/AR2008092504603.html) This is lame. I've been looking forward to this for weeks.
...And never mind. Immediately after I posted this comment, my Time magazine feed posted this. (http://thepage.time.com/mccain-camp-statement-on-resuming-campaign-attending-debate/) So I guess it's on. Yay!

Date: 2008-09-26 03:40 pm (UTC)But I will be flying in around 8, I think. So I won't be at the hotel until... 9? On Saturday evening. If you're still around come say hi! I will be confused and scared with nowhere to go I'm sure ;)
So full of love today

Date: 2008-09-26 05:44 pm (UTC)I've seen many thinking along these lines but it just doesn't fit for me, not only because I don't want to see my Winchesters against each other, but because Lilith wanted Sam dead. Why would she want to kill the key to bring back her master?

Preview for next week reminded me a little of the Angel episode, 'Are You Now or Have You Ever Been'. Should be awesome.

Date: 2008-09-27 12:33 pm (UTC)Meg, our favorite demon-bitch, is back! YAY! God, I miss season 1!
And you are totally right about the sibling front! BTW, there’s a really good SPN ff of that whole surviving a sibling theme, called “Let go” at: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3935067/1/Let_Go
Bobby has a panic room – lmao! Wonder, if he watched the movie? *grins*
You have a point with Lucifer. I thought this season would go the Kain-vs.-Abel-way?
About Castiel... well, I wouldn’t be surprised if Dean would kill him in the end! What do you think?
What episode is on next week? “In the beginning” or “Monster movie”?
