tommygirl: (entourage - hug it out)
Friday is here! Weekend is almost upon me! And I have no real plans aside from continuing with unpacking and doing some reading/writing.

**

I can't believe it's almost October. In two weeks it's birthday weekend for Mylia and I get to hang out with some of my favorite people. Then the following weekend is [livejournal.com profile] winchestercon. Alas, I can still only make it for Saturday, but I would love to meet some of you for lunch and/or dinner! I really wanted to do the whole shebang, but this owning a house thing ate up alot of my money and I can't really afford a hotel in Baltimore, no matter how much I want to. Stupid mortgage and growing up!

But yes, dear friends list, those going to [livejournal.com profile] winchestercon, let me know if we can meet up! I love you guys and want to hang!

Also, [livejournal.com profile] pheebs1 and [livejournal.com profile] ladybug218 are helping me with [livejournal.com profile] win_non_con this year, but if any of you aren't going to the actual con and can help with the online version, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm hoping this weekend to get together the itinerary.

**

And on the topic of Supernatural...let's talk last night's episode.

There will be spoilers...you are warned... )

Note: As long as you don't share spoilers with me (beyond the preview that's aired), I'm up for any discussions. I tend to squee, but I have no problems if people have issues so long as we all play nice.

**

I finally watched the summer finale of Burn Notice. All I will say is thank GOD it's coming back in January! And I love Michael! And I love Sam! And I love Fi! And I love Michael and Fi! And...such a good show.

**

Yesterday I asked for first lines and I would write ficlets. It's not too late to play, so long as I know the fandom. I'm not doing them in any order. Mostly going with whatever strikes my muse. I really need to do some writing.

**

Finally, will the debate happen tonight? I was all excited it for it before McCain started pulling this stuff. I want my nerdy goodness, dammit.
tommygirl: (brothers & sisters - tequila)
I'm slipping in my Supernatural obsessive love lately. Last week I didn't see the episode until Saturday and this week I might not get to watch it until then either. Normally, I start it at 9:20pm, late enough that I can watch without commercials...but the past two weeks, I'm either exhausted or watching the Flyers fuck up the last period of their play-offs game.

Yes, that's right. I love Flyers hockey more than Sam and Dean. I think it's because I've been a Flyers fan since the womb and Sam & Dean have only been around for three years. It's a dedication thing.

**

I'm hoping to do some writing this weekend. The last few weekends I've been hoping to do such things, but then I end up doing more house hunting and/or having flat tires and other fun things. And I'm so behind on the writing. And so out of ideas/talent/any ability whatsoever.

I really suck. My life has just been crazy in the non-good ways and it's affected my writing. ::Cries::

**

Any of you guys going to Winchestercon in Baltimore? Last year was a lot of fun and hanging with fangirls was awesome. I admit, I was a bit wary of what I was walking into, but it was so worth it.
tommygirl: (dexter - brothers)
I want an inside-out staircase! Found courtesy of BoingBoing.net!

**

There was a time when my life wasn't nearly so crazy. I hope to get back to that in the near future. I would also like to write things that don't make me cringe. And maybe win the lottery. And have hot boys do my bidding (ie - make out with each other on command).

On the brightside, I paid for my ticket to [livejournal.com profile] winchestercon and reserved a hotel room. I'm very excited to see many of you again...and to meet some of y'all that I didn't get a chance to last time around. I figured I trekked out to Los Angeles for the con, I could handle an hour and a half drive to Baltimore. I'm working on [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy to revisit our fun roomie hijinks of last year and convincing [livejournal.com profile] ladybug218 to come!
tommygirl: (supernatural - boys in tuxes)
Thanks for the good work thoughts. Things are just...not good...right now and I'm not sure what to do. I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason and that karma comes around. I am clinging to these things.

But now I shall focus on happy, good things. Because I miss happy, good things.

1.

These boys always make me happy and they love each other so much and just...oh, there is never enough Jared/Jensen or Sam/Dean schmoop in the world but y'all provide me with great amounts of it!

2. All of you because you rock and you offer encouragement and you're just awesome. I love you all. I really do.

3. Army Wives is coming out on dvd in June. It's the lifetime series that has Drew Fuller as the perfect husband and has Gordon from SPN as the one guy "army wife" in the group and features some interesting characters. Plus, did I mention Drew Fuller?

4. I'm a tad bit behind on my Supernatural reading, but I highly recommend [livejournal.com profile] pheebs1's Supernatural version of PS I Love You. It's Sam/Dean and it's sad and wonderful and just the end is so perfect.

5. I'm mailing my check for [livejournal.com profile] winchestercon tomorrow! And I'm totally going to get [livejournal.com profile] ladybug218 (And Mylia!!!) to come hang out with me there. And I can't wait to see some of you again and to meet even more of you...because it was so much fun.
tommygirl: (blade trinity - king)
Oh life, why must you be so busy? And by "life" what I really mean is work. Argh. I don't mind covering the other position for the most part, but part of that job is packing for fairs/distributions and god, I hate that. It's so annoying.

**

In other news, I've lost my cotton-picking mind and signed up for [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang. I have an idea and I think it will end up being gen, but really, I have to wait and see how Dean and Sam react to that, especially with something of this length. But I think it's time for me to try my hand at a long story again. It used to be all that I wrote and now I tend not to go in that direction. So wish me luck.

**

Also, [livejournal.com profile] winchestercon is coming to Boston! Who's planning to go? I figure I went all the way to Los Angeles last year, I can manage a quick train trip up to Boston. And it was a lot of fun and cool to meet so many wonderful people...so, yeah. Tentatively planning to go!

::looks at [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy::

**

Not much else to report at the moment. Work has fried my brain so I'm going to wait to do some reviews of television shows. Just know that the Terminator series owns, but I love all the movies (yes, even three, ::hangs head::), so I'm probably a bit biased. And One Tree Hill is back and Nathan with the grunge look is YUMMY (even if he's an ass). So I'm watching tv, just have no brain function after work to do anything about it.
tommygirl: (entourage - vince & eric)
I am sitting here waiting for Bebel to return from her morning class so we can go out and do some fun stuff for my last day here in Los Angeles. As she runs on Bebel's Brazillian time, we will probably get moving around dinner time.

I can't believe how fast this week went and I'm so glad I decided to go to [livejournal.com profile] winchestercon. Because that gave me an excuse to spend time with Bebel and Frankie. Alas, my friend, Blake, was unavailable this week. ::insert sad face::

So Wincon...

I cut but I'm terrible with names and places and basically everything, so not really detailed... )

**

Tomorrow is going to be hell day of flying. I'm still working on my sister and/or mom to pick me up at the Philadelphia airport. Neither wants to do it because my flight gets in right at rush hour. And I'm a big baby who hates Rapid Rover.
tommygirl: (jensen & jared - paley)
I am now at Bebel's house, hanging with my second family. I'm lazing about watching episodes of Burn Notice and Life with Frankie while Bebel is at the bonfire on the beach. I was supposed to go, but Bebel thinks I have some sort of ear infection that's causing the vertigo that I've been having since about an hour after I got off the plane on Friday morning. I swear, I can't do anything without breaking. I thought it was just no food/no sleep from leaving for the airport before 5am on Friday and then not eating until around 6pm.

**

[livejournal.com profile] winchestercon was a lot of fun. I'm glad I was able to come and meet so many wonderful fellow fans and hang out and put names to faces. Supernatural fandom is really awesome.

I've friended a few of you that I hung out with a bit that I didn't know before, but I'm sure I'm missing people.

**

Now some thoughts on Thursday night's Supernatural...

Spoilers for 3.2, so if you haven't seen it yet... )

**

Okay, I'm going to attempt to read the friends list, but seeing as I haven't really since Wednesday, I'm not sure how far I will get. It doesn't mean that I don't love you all lots.
tommygirl: (charmed - brothers2)
Am packed and trying to fall asleep since I leave for the airport at 5:00am. But the bright side to that is...

I will be in Los Angeles, meeting up with [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy at LAX and then we're heading to [livejournal.com profile] winchestercon. Woo-hoo. After that's over, I'm hanging with my second family until Thursday. If any of you from wincon are going to be around after the con, let me know and maybe we can meet up. I think Monday, my friend and I are going to CityWalk and Universal. So yes, just find me at Wincon and we can work the details out.

Those not going, don't forget there is Not Quite Winchestercon ([livejournal.com profile] win_non_con)!

**

All I will say about SPN is I love Dean Winchester. This is not news. This never chcanges.

**

I'm gonna try to do an SPN recs update to [livejournal.com profile] polyfandomrecs tonight, but that might not happen.
tommygirl: (chuck - nerd herd)
Four days until [livejournal.com profile] winchestercon and my trip to Los Angeles. I'm very excited and slightly nervous as I've never been to something like this before. And after the con is over, I'm hanging with my second family until Thursday doing fun, touristy stuff. Except for Tuesday when I have nothing planned - so if anyone is in the LA area and wants to hang on Tuesday, let me know. Otherwise, I'll probably just laze about.

Also, if you can't attend wincon, be sure to check out [livejournal.com profile] win_non_con, Not Quite Winchestercon! It was a lot of fun last year and I'm sure it will rock just as much this time around.

**

I'm slowly going through the beginning of fall television and trying to figure out what I want to watch. And I'm very excited because tonight is new Chuck and Heroes. I can definitely say that Chuck is my new favorite show of the season. I love everything about it and always want more.

But let's talk returning television like Friday Night Lights

It's back and I still love it a whole lot... )

If you're not watching this show, I *highly* recommend you check out season one. it's only 19.99 and has that guarantee and you will get sucked in. It's just so great. Neither me or my sister are even fans of football, but we both adore this show.

Ugly Betty this week was cute. Some spoilers... )

I started the pilot of Moonlight, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. I don't know if it was the mood I was in on Saturday when I went to watch it or just the sight of JD in suspenders that just ruined it. I'll try to go back to it later, but for now, I'm going to keep choosing Friday Night Lights, which I know is made of awesome.

New Shows I'm Watching: Chuck, Reaper, Dirty, Sexy, Money, Private Practice, and Pushing Daisies

If I'm bored: Journeymen, Life

Returning Shows: Supernatural, Heroes, Ugly Betty, NCIS, Dexter, Friday Night Lights, Brothers & Sisters, Prison Break

I've given up on Smallville and I'm so far behind on Stargate Atlantis at this point, I just don't really care. Same goes for Lost, but since that's not back until January, I might have time to catch up if I want. I'm pretty torn on Bionic Woman. It's crap, but Katee Sackhoff is awesome has Sarah.

I hope you have a fabulous day, darling!

**

Second...

Based on the poll I did last week, there was interest in a Sports Night Holiday Exchange. So sign-ups begin today over at [livejournal.com profile] sn_holidays! Please pimp this out to your Sports Night pals! And let me know of any questions, concerns, etc. The due dates and what would be offered were based on the poll majority.

[livejournal.com profile] sn_holidays

**

Third...

Work is crazy. I hate when work is crazy. Busy is fine, but crazy is stressful.

**

Fourth...

Had weird dreams last night where I was the lead in the musical version of the Colbert Report. And Stephen and I were doing this huge dance number about republicans. Just very, very bizarre.

**

Fifth...

[livejournal.com profile] winchestercon is less than two weeks away! I get to hang out with really cool people I want to meet, especially [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy! There is no one I would rather share my first con experience with than Steph and my lovely SPN Fandom Peeps!

But, for those who cannot make [livejournal.com profile] winchestercon, be sure to check out [livejournal.com profile] win_non_con. [livejournal.com profile] deirdre_c was a great help with it last year and this year, she is taking over! It's sure to be good times, so be sure to check that community out!
tommygirl: (firefly - jayne - bad guys)
Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] hyperfocused!!!

I hope you have a fabulous day, complete with pampering and whatever you wish for!

Just let me know the fandom/pairing/prompt you'd like for your b-day ficlet and one day it will be yours. Hee.

**

Back to work today, which was crazy. Thanks to all this illness stuff, I seem to be going through cycles where I'm sick, miss work, and come back to so much work. I just get caught up, and find I'm sick again. Le sigh.

I really am hoping that between today and tomorrow I'll get caught up on work and can finish some of my fannish committments. I feel so completely out of it fandomwise lately. It's a sad thing.

**

On a much brighter side, Steph and I were chatting yesterday and there is only a little over two weeks until [livejournal.com profile] winchestercon! Who all is going? I can't wait to meet some of y'all and hopefully I won't scare you guys too much. Not only that, but after the con ends on Sunday, I get to spend some time with Bebel until Thursday! Woo-hoo!
tommygirl: (brokeback mountain - gah)
It's hump day, but this week is not going fast enough for my liking. I'm behind on episodes of Traveler (speaking of, is there any fic out there yet?), but started watching season six of Charmed over again because of my love of Chris. Maybe it will inspire me to get back to some of my many Chris stories that need writing.

Of course, that would mean that Dean and Sam Winchester would have to stop living in my brain all the freaking time. Especially jealous!Sam and daddy!Dean, my two favorite things in the world.

Alas I have to wait to purchase the permanent account over here a little bit longer. I totally forgot that i never sent in my check for the dinner part of Winchestercon, so I'm using my extra fun money for that this time around. Oh, to be rich.

**

Writing things to try to work on today:

-Finish up first kisses requests
-Finish up drabble requests
-Work on Jen's b-day fic (it's only a bazillion years late)
-Work on Wyatt Halliwell Cop fic for Amy
-My new Dean entry for [insanejournal.com profile] voicesinmyhead

**

I'm slowly trying to bring my fic over here from livejournal as another back-up (my website being my first back-up), so I apologize if it appears like I'm spamming.
tommygirl: (farscape - crichton)
1) Work was busy today. We're getting a new plotter for better mapping and stuff, but it became a big ordeal with the delivery and oh the fun.

2) Supernatural Crossover Challenge sign-ups are running until June 29th. Write a story, get a story! Fun times to be had! Lots of great crossover fic to be produced.

3) So over at insane journal, [livejournal.com profile] ladybug218 started a muse community and with her patience and Yoda-like explanations, I have undertaking writing for Dean Winchester. It's freaking *addictive*, my friends. And it might be Dean's goal to hook up with all the pretty ladies at some point.

4) Yeah, I know I didn't need to take that on what with the billion things to do. I came up with the title for my [livejournal.com profile] schmoopfest Sam/Dean story though, so that should let me off the hook. Now I just have to write it.

5) I just finished Secrets of My Hollywood Life by Jen Calonita and now I want the sequel, but my library doesn't have it. ::cries:: The first book was an enjoyable quick read. I've never outgrown my love of young adult books.

6) No, really, my friends, go sign up for the Supernatural Crossover Challenge. Or pimp it. Or if that's not your cup of tea, check out [livejournal.com profile] schmoopfest - there are still plenty of prompts available.

7) Does one know if there are Prince Harry and Prince William icons? And if so, where can they be found? I watched their Dateline interview and I may love them more than I used to. And I already loved them a great deal. According to [livejournal.com profile] larah33, I love lots of boys though, so this is nothing new.

8) I'm starting to get excited about [livejournal.com profile] winchestercon! This is totally my first con ever and I'm doing it with my other half, [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy. And I'm looking forward to getting to meet some of y'all a whole lot!
tommygirl: (brothers & sisters - tommy & justin)
So how sad is it that in three days my sister and I managed to make it through eighteen episodes of Prison Break season two? We could've finished the last one, but with it being a repeat this week, we don't want it to end on some cliffhanger and then have to wait for a new episode. We've gotten accustomed to just going onto the next one.

And really, their tendency to end on a cliffhanger type note is why we got through so many.

Me - This really is the last one.

Susie - Yeah, I have shit to do.

Me - Me too.

(end of episode comes...we look at each other...)

Me - One more wouldn't hurt.

Susie - Exactly.

Practically caught up. Loving it a whole lot.

However because we were watching last night as well, I have not seen this week's Black Donnellys yet.

**

New Supernatural this week! Yay! I love my show! I love Dean and Sam! I'm both excited and saddened for the end of the season. Excited because I'm sure there is good stuff coming (no spoilers please), but I can't last three months without new episodes. That's wrong and evil and WRONG. There should be new Sam and Dean on my television all the time.

Speaking of Supernatural, I love y'all like crazy, but this fandom is way too productive and prolific. I'm already behind on my reading and every time I make a dent there are about a billion new stories that intrigue me. What's a girl to do? And does anyone know of some sort of grant where I can apply for money to sit and read fanfiction all day?

**

I'm very excited about [livejournal.com profile] winchestercon in the fall. It's the first con for both me and Steph, and I'm looking forward to it. I'm also looking forward to then staying a few extra days in Los Angeles to catch up with some of my friends that I haven't seen in awhile. I used to get out to LA at least once a year and vice versa, but with work, rent, car payments, and such, I just haven't been able to swing it. Damn adulthood.

**

I'm completely losing my mind lately. I keep misplacing things or forgetting things and it's boggling my mind. I will put it out the night before, pick it up in the morning like "yes, need that" and then leave it when I leave. Take this morning for example: I pack my gym bag the night before as I leave at 6am to get in my workout before work...but I never pack my lunch ahead of time...so I'm hurrying to pack my lunch. I take out a container of soup, put it on the table NEXT to my lunch bag and leave it there. I didn't realize this until I got to work. Fun times. SO now I have to buy lunch because I'm a moron.

Honestly, I thought exercise and energy made your brain work better.

Ciao darlings!
tommygirl: (not quite winchestercon - survived)
So it's almost official. [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy and I are going to [livejournal.com profile] winchestercon this year in Los Angeles. My second family lives out there and they've been bugging me to get back out there, so I'll be staying a few extra days. Lotsa fun.

Anyway, with that in mind, [livejournal.com profile] win_non_con won't be run by Steph and I this year. So first...[livejournal.com profile] deirdre_c and [livejournal.com profile] tvm as the other mods, if you want to take it over this coming year, that's cool. If not, I'll be looking for some people to take it over. You're free to use the itinerary that we created last year and/or to make it all your own (though seriously, I do suggest the scavenger hunt because the results were HYSTERICAL!)

So yes, let me know.

**

I am currently dying of the plague. Or evil sinuses and stomach issues. Fun times. And my sister used all my sinus meds except TWO pills. Nice of her.

Not much else. I slept half the day away and watched season two of Supernatural with the other half. And now I have this sam/dean idea of angst that wants to be written.
