It's finally Friday! Woo-hoo. I haven't had a chance to watch this week's Lost episode yet, and I'm so grateful that my friend's list believes in the courtesy of the lj-cut tag in reference to spoilers. That makes me happy. But I did notice the abundance of squeeness, so hopefully it will be enjoyable.
Though I do find myself amused by Lost fans at work who have never watched Alias. I try to swallow the chuckles when I hear them going on about how they can't wait for all to be revealed. Like that will happen. It's been three full seasons and do we have any more knowledge of Rambaldi than we did when the show started, except that he was one creepy dude who kept the protector of the clock alive for many, many, many years only for him to get shot after meeting Sydney.
That's a no. So sorry to burst your bubble, Lost fans, but I wouldn't hold out any hope for major revelations anytime soon. Jack is more likely to start dressing up like Tarzan first.

I did, however, watch Veronica Mars
I do love Veronica and her take on the world around her. I love her relationship with her father and her friendship with Wallace and even the budding romance between her and Troy.
It was an interesting look into Duncan's life, but are we supposed to be feeling bad for him at the moment? Because I don't. It's all about that invested in characters thing again that I mentioned in reference to Alias. Sure, there were only two episodes prior to this one, but in those two episodes, they were told almost completely from Veronica's POV. And while I let expanding on other characters to give them depth and such, it doesn't mean that I've suddenly thought, "He's just misunderstood and still recovering from the loss of his sister. That's why he's a jerk and constantly jerking Veronica around."
But I will say it is very realistic to an extent (minus the whole murder mystery part) because that's how many guys that age are. At least, the guys I knew - wanting things, not wanting things, wanting things again when they notice someone else wants it.
Anyway, the whole thing with the kid who's dad turns out to be a dude...wouldn't John Smith have changed his name? So how did he get the letter? I'm so confused. I did laugh hysterically when it happened.
Another enjoyable episode. I truly hope this show sticks around. I have a tendency to be the kiss of death for television shows (because it's all about me, really). For example, Wonderfalls...I think myself and the three friends I got addicted are the only people who watched it.

And now, it's fannish five time.

What were the last five fannish topics you discussed in your livejournal? Provide links if you like.
Considering I pretty much try to limit the use of this journal to fandom-related things, I guess it would just be pretty much the last five entries.
1. My Roswell Ficathon story - Waiting For the Picture to Develop
2. An entry with all my drabbles for the first line drabbles meme
3. An entry with a quick rec to a great O.C. story - Welcome to the Fallout
4. An entry based on my rewatching of Alias Season Three and some of my thoughts are located here
5. An entry that consists of another one of those writing memes regarding fanfiction that I so adore - the writing survey

Date: 2004-10-15 11:59 am (UTC)Seriously, though, I haven't watched this week's ep yet either. And, yes, I'm one of those that doesn't watch Alias. In fact, I never liked Felicity or Alias, yet Lost has me intrigued.

Date: 2004-10-17 01:31 pm (UTC)ROFL So true! Gosh, I'm still not convinced that Irina is THE MAN or that Sloane is "good". And I desparately hope both Freplica and the wife are really really dead for good. I know the writers of Lost keep threatening that anyone on the main cast could be knocked off at anytime but with JJ's track record most of them are as good as gold.
