So I'm a bit behind on the holiday cheer and life in general, but forgive me. I spent the past three days fighting off bronchitis AND the dreaded stomach flu (I know this was given to me from my coworkers because it went through our office last week...grrr...). It did get me out of Christmas at the pretentious cousin's house last night, so if there is a bright side to the stomach flu, I guess that's it.
But I can't complain too much because my mom bought me the new
Outsiders dvd, which is the extended NOVEL version of the movie...so it has all the extra good stuff from the movie. Those of you that have known me for awhile, know my obsession with S.E. Hinton's
The Outsiders. It will always be my favorite book of all time and the movie is freaking awesome as well. So I curled up in bed with my new dvd (I did get many other wonderful things, but really, I was *all* about the young Rob Lowe goodness bestowed upon me) and then after a nice long nap, I started reading all the fantabulous fanfiction over at
Yuletide. So many good stories...haven't stumbled upon a bad one yet (recs will be coming to
polyfandomrecs soon!), but honestly the best one is the one for me.
So let me take a moment to do the proper gushing, thank you's:
1) Secret Santa Drabble - I can now properly thank
lunarknightz for being the best Secret Drabble Santa in the world. She continually provided me with the most awesome
Supernatural ficlets for a whole month. you can read all of them
over here if you're interested. They rock. ::huggles Tracy::
2) SESA Santa - Gah. Lance and JC. JC hurt and Lance trying to be there for him as best as he can. Angst with a hopeful, not happy, ending. I love it dearly. It's been awhile since I've read a lot of popslash, but JC/Lance will always own my heart. So my story:
Unless I Make It All So Clear. If you're reading this Santa, thank you so much. It was a very nice story and I greatly appreciate it!
3) My Yuletide Story - Seriously. It's Gus/Felicty from
Road to Avonlea, fanfiction that I'm not sure exists so that alone makes it so wonderful. But it's a great story that really nails the dynamic between Felicity and Gus from the series - they're a passionate couple, fighting or embracing. And it's perfect and I love it. So go read it:
Part of How Life GoesSo there is way too much reading to do:
undermistletoe,
Yuletide, and
Sesa. Not to mention the ongoing wonderful stories you guys on my friends list continue to create on a daily basis.
However, I must write/finish/edit my Pretty Lights story. Being sick caused that damn deadline to sneak up on me. Must get that done. I've never been one to miss a ficathon deadline and I don't plan to start at the holidays. So yeah, if you catch me around here or reading fic or on AIM, feel free to poke me with a stick.
Also, don't worry. Twelve Fandom Days of Christmas is coming. Just a little late. So there will probably be a few days with more than one story posted to make up for it. I just...the stories are started and worked on, just not finished. I suck, I know. Burn me in effigy if you must.

I hope you all had a great holiday and made out like bandits if you celebrate. I was very fortunate and blessed and spoiled. But the best gift was from my sister! She got me a "Free Ang-Yan" teeshirt! (If you watch
Arrested Development you should know who that is!) and a Bluths teeshirt where the family is lined up like the Usual Suspects. They totally rock the cashbah. She also got me a copy of the short story
Brokeback Mountain since I'm constantly borrowing it from the library. Now i have my own with pretty Jake and Heath on the cover (normally, I don't like movie book covers, but it's much prettier.)
And sissy was just as happy with my gifts to her. She has an obsession with the mocha frosted lattes from Dunkin' Donuts so I got her a gift card to keep her in those and the new Stephen Lynch dvd and cd. Made her quite happy.
Honestly, the sister is the easiest person to shop for. I know her better than anyone.
Other favorites of mine beside the shirts and Outsiders - 24 Season 4, Lost, Mallrats X, O.C. Season 2, Arrested Development Season 2, Veronica Mars Season 1...
My sister and I laughed though. The only thing we asked for (The Buffy Chosen Collection) was the one thing we didn't get. Our family thought it was too expensive, but instead spent WAY more on more stuff. Whatever. I love the stuff...it's just funny to me their reasoning.

Okay, off to write. Dammit. Must write. Also have to go to Christmas Dinner at my mother's tonight because she postponed it since I was sick. Fun times.
Love you guys. ::huggles::
