They barely made it to playoffs...and then they were way down against Boston, the underdog, and somehow...

FLYERS ARE GOING TO THE STANLEY CUP!!!

I think it's fitting it happens right around the same time that the Broadstreet Bullies documentary aired on HBO. Because this team has that same sort of grit and determination.

Now, I know my boys well enough to know not to get my hopes up too much - especially since the Chicago has been playing well...but YAY!

::dances around::

This so makes fighting off a cold/allergies worth it!

I clutched my Mike Richards jersey tightly last night. If you know my boys (the Flyers) the way I do over our thirty-some year history (I was going to games in the womb, my mom used to say, which is why I'm a die-hard Flyers fan), you would know I did not see last night coming.

BUT OHMYGODMYBOYSKICKEDBOSTON'SASS!

Sorry Boston. But the # 2 team in the conference coming into the playoffs with a three game lead loses to the team that barely made it into the play-offs. And yeah, if you look at the Bruins record this year, they play worse at home than away over all, so maybe that worked to our favor. I was joking with my friend that you know the way the Flyers go, if there was a year they'll win the goddamn cup it will be the year no one expects it to happen.

But go Flyers. That made me so happy! When I could watch! Games 1 & 2 Conference Finals will be home. Luckily I'm broke, as every play-off game/stanley cup game I've gone to in the past, the team loses. I'll watch from afar.

And I love Mike Richards.

Still not caught up on Supernatural, so I can't speak to that. I'm hoping to catch up in the near future, but I've been watching hockey and reading a lot more and working out and just sorta eh about most television. Except Justified. And Glee. And Chuck.

But C'mon Flyers!

Now I'm off to catch up on the friends list and maybe read/write some fic.

Congrats Team Canada on the hockey win. That was an amazing game and both goalies rocked. As a Flyers fan, I'm proud of Richards getting a gold, but very sad for my team, mostly for Ryan Miller. He looked so despondent and upset and really, it was not his fault. He was amazing throughout the games, alas, Canada brought their A-game too.

I still hate Crosby, but will ashamedly admit he looked adorable getting his medal...so then I slapped myself silly and am back to hating him irrationally.

Now back to NHL hockey tomorrow.

Wanted to thank everyone for the book recommendations. I added them to my list. I'm always on the lookout for new books to read (oh and if any of you are on goodreads, make sure I have your info as I love other people's reviews of books as well) and I got a nice bunch to work from.

Currently reading the Graceling and am really enjoying it. The one confusing thing for me is simply because I recently read Hunger Games. So I go from main characters Katniss and Peeta to Katsa and Po. I keep muddling them up in my head.

Now I'm off to track down screencaps from the movie, Miracle, as [livejournal.com profile] tinylegacies offered to make me some icons. Anyone able to point me in a good direction?

I'm slipping in my Supernatural obsessive love lately. Last week I didn't see the episode until Saturday and this week I might not get to watch it until then either. Normally, I start it at 9:20pm, late enough that I can watch without commercials...but the past two weeks, I'm either exhausted or watching the Flyers fuck up the last period of their play-offs game.

Yes, that's right. I love Flyers hockey more than Sam and Dean. I think it's because I've been a Flyers fan since the womb and Sam & Dean have only been around for three years. It's a dedication thing.

I'm hoping to do some writing this weekend. The last few weekends I've been hoping to do such things, but then I end up doing more house hunting and/or having flat tires and other fun things. And I'm so behind on the writing. And so out of ideas/talent/any ability whatsoever.

I really suck. My life has just been crazy in the non-good ways and it's affected my writing. ::Cries::

Any of you guys going to Winchestercon in Baltimore? Last year was a lot of fun and hanging with fangirls was awesome. I admit, I was a bit wary of what I was walking into, but it was so worth it.
