can it be friday again?

This week is already almost half over and I'm clinging to that as things at work take another annoying turn. I can't help but wonder what lessons I'm supposed to be taking from this.

On the bright side, my weekend was lovely. I saw the new Indiana Jones and I loved it. ( Spoilers ahoy... )

I think I need some Shia icons from the movie though. Anyone point me in the right direction?

I picked up Evernight by Claudia Gray as I always love to support our wonderful fandom fen that get the chance to publish and so far I'm really enjoying the main character. Plus, I'm a sucker for vampires in any shape or form.

I also got the first chapter of the next Twilight book from a friend. I haven't had an opportunity to read it yet, but I'm very excited to see how Bella and Edward's story wraps up. I'm just hoping that the final book makes me remember why I loved the first book - because Eclipse made me want to kill Bella, Edward, and Jacob. I think that's why my favorite characters are Alice & Jasper and Emmett & Rosalie. They weren't given enough time to annoy me.

I honestly can't believe it's almost June already. It hasn't been my favorite year thus far, but it's going rather quickly. Of course, I feel so disconnected from fandom lately. I'm hoping that will change at some point, but right now work remains crazy and I'm house hunting in real life...so I'm just a bit frazzled most of the time.

I'm gonna do a little pimpage of sorts:

-otw_onlinecon is running its Multifandom Online Convention with lots of really cool challenges and topics. I highly recommend checking it out.

-jesshelga & anxietygrrl began an awesome idea of writing your two favorite characters in Target. This should continue, my friends. There should be a community for this sort of fic.

-smallfandomfest has the prompts up for claiming. So go write fic for those smaller fandoms!

-I put up a poll at schmoopfest to gage interest in a second round this summer. Schmoop is my happy place, so of course, I always want more.

Two interesting memes:

1. Give me one of my own stories, and a timestamp sometime in the future after the end of the story, or sometime in the past before the story started, and I'll write you at least a hundred words of what happened then, whether it's five minutes before the story started or ten years in the future.

2. Ask me a question about one of my stories. It can be absolutely anything in any fic and I will tell you the honest-to-god answer. Don’t hold back. Ask about my plans for future parts of my current series if you want to. (but keep in mind, I may not have anything firm/definite in the works) Anything. Whatever you ask, I will try my best to answer.

I'm so excited to read all the big bangs that my friends are talking about. It's going to be a wonderful summer filled with lots of good fic. Oh fandom, how I miss you!

I hate subject pressure...

I ended up signing up for not only the oldschool ficathon run by my wifey, but the smallfandomfest going on as well. But I couldn't resist the prompt of Harry Dresden and Cal Leandros meeting. I'm a sucker for crossovers.

Of course, I'm also a sucker for lazing about and procrastination, so we'll see.

I've been reading a lot of Iron Man, Tony/Pepper fic lately. There's not a whole lot of good stuff out there, but I'm constantly on a search. Soon I might even have some recs.

And this is the problem with my fickle, polyfandom ways. I'm always skipping around so much.

Today I'm having lunch with Amy and Mike. We're having pizza and trying to take our minds off the insanity that is work. Originally my plan was to get some Whole Foods and write, but yeah, today has not been a good day and I need my friends. And if there is one thing Mike comes in handy for, it's making me laugh.

I need some David Cook icons. I also need some Shia icons from the new Indiana Jones movie. And I really want Indy & Marion (sp?) and Mudd fic, where they're bickering and taking adventures and just cool stuff.

So thanks to medie, I've written a whole page (which for me lately = TONS) of girl!Niko & Cal in Target fic. Yes, Veritas: The Quest fic. In Target. Hee.

Hopefully, this page is a breakthrough and I'll be able to get my writing mojo back.

You know what would help with that? Me not watching Transformers every single time it's on. I've developed an addiction to this movie.
