tommygirl: (jensen & jared - do do)
I'm attempting to come up with some writing responses for Day 3 of the drabble-a-thon, but currently am quite ecstatic because I think I figured out how to deal with one of the things that bothered me about my [livejournal.com profile] apocalyptothon first draft. So I want to fix that up and get it off to beta as soon as possible, while the ideas are still fresh. I was struggling with this one particular element to the story and while I was meditating today it just hit me.

Thank goodness for that as I need time to get it back from beta and I want to post it before I move next week (and ohmygod, I move next week into my own house! Yikes.)

I highly recommend Joel Osteen's weekly podcasts to people, even if you're not Christian. he's everything that religion *should* be, very positive and hopeful, never judgemental or talking about how evil people are. And I don't know if it's just me, but I swear, sometimes, it's like he's talking directly to me. Like his topic will resonate so much and I just walk away from the podcast with a much better perspective on life (and, for me, God).

What do I have to do in order for Annie to leave on All My Children? Just when I think she couldn't annoy me more, she finds new ways to irk me. And I admit, that my great love of Greenlee will always biased me against certain characters, but she's just so irritating. She doesn't have one redeemable trait. How is that even possible?

So I read that Vanessa Marcil is again in talks with GH. And I think that would be awesome, especially if Jagger sticks around because think of the fun that could be had. Or if they pair her up with Jason because they had such potential last time around. And yes, the character of Brenda (like Greenlee) is another one of those characters that I adore beyond reason.

Anything new on One Life to Live worth tuning in? I'm still mad about how they killed off Nash. Nash/Jess and Nash/Tess were the only pairing(s) I enjoyed.

**

Lots of pimpage!!!

Onto the pimpage... )

**

Anyone know where I can find some great Phelps/Lochte icons? I've come across icons of each boy separately, but I'd love a few of them together. Please, help me feed my obsession a bit more.
tommygirl: (american idol - cook & puppy)
Spent afternoon looking at some more houses. A few were really cute and a few were just downright scary. And then one that we liked was out on the lake, but it's out in the middle of NOWHERE and do I really want to live in the middle of NOWHERE? And who knew that there was still middle-of-nowhere in the overpopulated state of New Jersey.

Am very excited about the possibility of a small writing gathering in the fall with my girls. Of course, we all admit that our version of writer's retreat will probably turn into a lot of fangirl squeeing, but still. Good stuff.

**

To my graphically inclined friends:

Anyone willing to take the below picture and make an icon for me and [livejournal.com profile] chickpea? She posted this picture and after a lot of "awws," it was decided we needed icons of it. But I can't make icons. I'll do a drabble/ficlet for ya if you do this for me. ::bats eyelashes::

ETA: Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] bobbinrob, I now have an animated icon! Rock out!

photo that I love.... )

I might have some music uploads to share later. I'm waiting for the people I originally uploaded them for to grab them before I share.

In the meantime, I shall read and write. And maybe grab some dinner.
tommygirl: (chronicles of narnia - hug)
I ended up signing up for not only the oldschool ficathon run by my wifey, but the smallfandomfest going on as well. But I couldn't resist the prompt of Harry Dresden and Cal Leandros meeting. I'm a sucker for crossovers.

Of course, I'm also a sucker for lazing about and procrastination, so we'll see.

**

I've been reading a lot of Iron Man, Tony/Pepper fic lately. There's not a whole lot of good stuff out there, but I'm constantly on a search. Soon I might even have some recs.

And this is the problem with my fickle, polyfandom ways. I'm always skipping around so much.

**

Today I'm having lunch with Amy and Mike. We're having pizza and trying to take our minds off the insanity that is work. Originally my plan was to get some Whole Foods and write, but yeah, today has not been a good day and I need my friends. And if there is one thing Mike comes in handy for, it's making me laugh.

**

I need some David Cook icons. I also need some Shia icons from the new Indiana Jones movie. And I really want Indy & Marion (sp?) and Mudd fic, where they're bickering and taking adventures and just cool stuff.
tommygirl: (supernatural - the boys (promo))
I am still recovering from last night's Supernatural. I just love our show and today I was surrounded with people who just don't understand the love. And the obsession with the Winchester brothers. Obviously, they are the insane ones.

I need people to point me in the direction of Spoilers for last night's Supernatural... )

**

My review of the episode will come when I can think straight about it. Right now I'm going to shower and then watch some Nick Swardson comedy with the boy.
tommygirl: (supernatural - boys in suits)
Dear SPN fanfiction readers:

Everyone needs to go pester Kat ([livejournal.com profile] vinylroad) into writing some Dean/Jess pregnant fic of shame. Kat writes an excellent Jess and I, alone, only have so much power over the girl.

And if you're not sure she can do it: check out her latest Dean/Jess, Cherry Pit. Or start with her Sam/Jess/Dean awesomeness, As the Rush Comes.

Love,

Me

P.S. - Or I could just pester her to write more dirty!bad!wrong John-centric fic.

P.S.S. - I do realize, Kat, that I still need to write my Dean/Jess sneaking around on Sam fic of woe. Le sigh.

**

I really need a Dean/Jess icon since I have a weird love of them. Or better yet, a Sam/Dean/Jess because seriously they would all love one another in such fucked-up ways. Anyone know where I can find one? Anyone willing to make me one?
tommygirl: (supernatural - nate winchester)
I have a whole paragraph of my story! Woo-hoo! Even better, [livejournal.com profile] vinylroad is going to write me Jo/John, with possession and John speaking Latin because we are dirty!wrong!bad girls who love John's voice. YUM. So yeah, anyone know Latin? Heh.

And then G-I-P. If you guys have read my Daddy!Dean stories, this is Nate as [livejournal.com profile] girlnotgone and I envision him. And I have another story idea planned for Nate with Hedda's approval and dudes...she has the most awesome of awesome stories planned. I cannot wait.

No, really, I am writing. Really.

**

Anyone else ever heard the Puppini Sisters? They are a lot like a modern day Andrews Sisters and they have this awesome version of "Heart of Glass" - I'd upload it but I don't know how to make it an unprotected file on ITunes. Anyone know?
tommygirl: (farscape - crichton)
1) Work was busy today. We're getting a new plotter for better mapping and stuff, but it became a big ordeal with the delivery and oh the fun.

2) Supernatural Crossover Challenge sign-ups are running until June 29th. Write a story, get a story! Fun times to be had! Lots of great crossover fic to be produced.

3) So over at insane journal, [livejournal.com profile] ladybug218 started a muse community and with her patience and Yoda-like explanations, I have undertaking writing for Dean Winchester. It's freaking *addictive*, my friends. And it might be Dean's goal to hook up with all the pretty ladies at some point.

4) Yeah, I know I didn't need to take that on what with the billion things to do. I came up with the title for my [livejournal.com profile] schmoopfest Sam/Dean story though, so that should let me off the hook. Now I just have to write it.

5) I just finished Secrets of My Hollywood Life by Jen Calonita and now I want the sequel, but my library doesn't have it. ::cries:: The first book was an enjoyable quick read. I've never outgrown my love of young adult books.

6) No, really, my friends, go sign up for the Supernatural Crossover Challenge. Or pimp it. Or if that's not your cup of tea, check out [livejournal.com profile] schmoopfest - there are still plenty of prompts available.

7) Does one know if there are Prince Harry and Prince William icons? And if so, where can they be found? I watched their Dateline interview and I may love them more than I used to. And I already loved them a great deal. According to [livejournal.com profile] larah33, I love lots of boys though, so this is nothing new.

8) I'm starting to get excited about [livejournal.com profile] winchestercon! This is totally my first con ever and I'm doing it with my other half, [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy. And I'm looking forward to getting to meet some of y'all a whole lot!
tommygirl: (24 - jack)
A) [livejournal.com profile] spncross is open for sign-ups. The fandoms being crossed are the top fifteen vote-getters in the poll. So go here to sign up. And please pimp!

B) Today was crazy at work. It started out easy enough, but then around eleven, I got swamped and didn't resurface until late afternoon. It did make the day go quickly, and I enjoy being busy as compared to bored, but a nice break once in awhile is a good thing.

C) This morning my office manager scared the hell out of me. I'm almost always the first person to our office in the morning. I get there about 15-20 minutes early because of the traffic patterns in my area and my hatred of rushing around. So when the door was locked and none of the main lights were on, I assumed I was the first there. I was wrong. I opened the door and heard footsteps. I was like, "What the hell is going on?" I haven't been that freaked out at work since my birthday four years ago when I walked into to find a Legolas cut-out kicking it behind my desk (at which point I wsa like, "Am I still asleep? Funny, I don't feel like I'm dreaming...but why is Orlando Bloom at my desk?").

D) No, seriously, I will keep bugging y'all who read Sam/Dean SPN fic to go read and vote over at [livejournal.com profile] spn_heraea. Angst vs. Schmoop and the stories are all wonderful.

E) I'm not sure why I went with letters. I like to be difficult to myself. How about "E" is for Entourage and I did not see the premiere last night. I plan to watch it this evening if I don't collapse. Also didn't see 4400 yet. What did I do last night? I honestly don't remember.

F) More interview questions, this time courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] mel_b_angel. To the interview questions... )

G) I think I have a book buying problem. Between buying books and borrowing them from the library, there is a pile sitting on my desk that needs to be read. I can do it. I can do it.

H) I will continue to pimp the fact that [livejournal.com profile] spncross is taking sign-ups.
tommygirl: (alias - sark - slytherin)
I should be cleaning and trying to get organized, but instead...more from that last meme

for [livejournal.com profile] anasuede

Interests

Earth 2: It's a sci-fi show from the early nineties that I loved a whole lot. It finally came out on dvd a few years ago (thank the lord) and it's about a bunch of people who are trying to colonize a new earth. I love the Danizger family especially!

Idina Menzel: I just love her a whole lot. She has the most awesome voice in the world.

The 4400: It's a USA show that airs in the summers and it's so awesome. The first season was so bad it was great, but it's actually gotten really interesting over the course of the second & third seasons. Plus, Shawn is hot.

Icons

I saw this icon and I had to have it. I am the dastardly spoon to [livejournal.com profile] iamentheos's evil weeble. I'm not sure I could explain it, but it just fits my mood sometimes.

It's John Crichton from Farscape, possibly the perfect man in the universe. He is a good boy and that's really what I love about his character. That he wants to be good - he just doesn't always know how to do that. If Aeryn couldn't kick my ass, I'd totally throw myself at him.

It's an Eddie Izzard quote from Circle. Probably my second favorite of all his comedy shows - Dressed to Kill is my favorite. He's hysterical and awesome and I kinda want to make out with him and/or go shopping with him.

**

Then from [livejournal.com profile] bubbles83

Interests

Jack Davenport: Steve from Coupling, Norrington from PoTC. Need I say more. He is hotness.

Jon Stewart: I'm giving away my age, I know, but I've loved him since his MTV show way back. He's sarcastic and hysterical and a jersey boy! Home state representing! And really, Daily Show is one of the best things ever.

Sarkney: Syd/Sark pairing from Alias. It's just hot. They would be so damn hot together. It doesn't have to be long term or schmoopy (though I like that too). It just needs to be hot and bad. And really, Sark is so much better than Vaughn.

Icons

Will from season three of Alias with him and Syd being rockers. Just so wonderful. God, I love Will.

A girl has to get her need for the brothers Winchester hugging somehow, right? And that scene in Tall Tales was just hysterical and awesome. I love Sam and Dean.

See above.
tommygirl: (jack bauer/sydney bristow)
Stolen from the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] ligia_elena: Comment and I will give you 3 interests on your list, and 3 icons, for you to explain.

My answers for her.

Three Interests

Idina Menzel: She was in the OBC of Rent in New York City and I used to be a renthead. I love her lots and lots. She was also in Wicked, has a few albums, and is married to Taye Diggs.

Kindred the Embraced: It's a show that lasted about seven episodes about different vampire clans. I loved it so much and miss it like whoa and find myself watching my dvds at least once every few months. Good stuff.

Smarshall: A private joke of my sister's ([livejournal.com profile] floundering) and mine regarding Alias pairings. I was explaining how Syd/Sark was called "sarkney" and that Syd/Weiss was "sweiss" and we tried to see if Syd/Marshall would be "Smarshall." It seems though that she and I are the only two people who have that as an interest. Go figure.

Three Icons

[livejournal.com profile] roniabirk made this for me in one of those icon interest memes. It's Johnny Depp's arm and he's just hot and I love it a whole lot.

It's another one [livejournal.com profile] roniabirk made for me to use. It was based on this picture of Jensen Ackles and Christian Kane that surfaced early last year. Jensen was obviously drunk. And then I wrote an RPS story based on it. And how can I get rid of it when it's so true?

I still don't know who made this for me. It was an anonymous gift for Valentine's Day 2006 and I still love it, mostly because of the nice gesture behind it.
tommygirl: (black donnellys - tommy & kevin)
It would be really cool if livejournal gave us the 2000 icon spaces that greatestjournal allots for. Mostly because I rarely use my greatest journal and no one else really uses theirs either...so all those icon slots go to waste.

And I don't even need 2000...but I just imagine having even more Sam & Dean pretty mixed with some other pretty. Oh the fun.

**

So my co-worker and I have decided to run for President & VP of the United States. We were coming up with some crazy ideas for our platform and by the end, aside from laughing a lot we were actually a bit scared that some people would probably vote for us based on said insane platform (like invading Canada to make it a wildlife reserve - it was a joke to us, but who knows with some people???)

And that pretty much sums up my day thus far. Insanity and giggles.
tommygirl: (dean winchester/tru davies 1)
To whoever listed me at the holiday anonymous love meme and to everyone who commented, thank you so much. ::huggles friends list:: I wasn't really expecting it, so thank you for making my boring friday at work that much brighter.

And much love to [livejournal.com profile] cloex_brosluvr for the pretty icons! Look guys, it's Dean and Tru Davies! Dude, how awesome is that? Now I want to write some Dean/Tru fic. Must wait, must wait.

**

The Supernatural Friday Five... )

**

So, my friends, should I write this evening or should I read some of the many bookmarks of fanfiction I have on my computer? I should write, I know, but guess what I'll probably end up doing?

Tomorrow I get to see Happy Feet with my little bit. Woo-hoo.

Ciao darlings!
tommygirl: (ben affleck)
GIP - look at the pretty icon that was made for me. Doesn't it rock? Oh Ben. I still love him so much. He's just smart and funny and politically-minded. Now if only he could remember how to make movies that don't suck. That would be wonderful.

**

Anyone on the friends list follow Last Comic Standing? Why is it that every single year on this show half the people chosen for the house aren't funny? Not at all. Like David Benson (Probably known best for commentary on Best Week Ever) didn't make it in the top twelve? How is that POSSIBLE? But then a few unfunny people did...

And I realize it's because they want a certain dynamic for the house to make it interesting, but I really want to laugh.

Hopefully this season will follow the route of season 2 (and even 3 - the all star challenge) where good people won rather than season 1 (I still want to know how anyone could choose Dat Phan...HOW?)

I really need to stop getting sucked into these damn shows. They never turn out the way I want and then I ponder how I am so off the mark with the rest of America. But I keep going back for more.

**

I'm going to attempt to start the ABC drabbles today/tonight. I have to work late to try and finish up this one project, but after that, I might write...or veg out with more Entourage because one can NEVER have enough Entourage. Is it sick that I've seen the first episode of the new season about six times already? I don't even care. I love it.

But for now, it's off to do some work, eat some lunch, and try not to kill our temps.

Ciao.
tommygirl: (winchester meets halliwell)
GIP, GIP, GIP...much love to Vera because it totally rocks and stuff. It's Winchester meets Halliwell - all my boys in one itty, bitty icon! Now I have to finish the next story in that world, I guess.

**

The Oscars were okay. Jon Stewart rocked. Loved the smear campaign ad pieces. But there were no real surprises this year in any categories. Though I think Jessica Alba has turned me gay. She looked so freaking good last night. So very good.

Is it still spoilery? Just to be safe... )

**

So much writing to do. Again, another weekend where I didn't write. In fairness, Terry and the sister dragged me furniture shopping on Saturday so that we could get an idea for what we wanted/needed when we move (Again! Gah!) Then Sunday there was another open house so we have to vacate the premises for the day...and came home just in time for Oscar fun. Really. I just want to have a weekend to myself. Is that too much to ask?
