Interview Questions from [livejournal.com profile] medie

1. Your favorite guilty pleasure sometimes I like the bad "introduce new sister to canon" fic.

2. One thing you wish one of your shows had done better (I know *G I know, but try to restrain yourself)?

Only one thing...Hhhhmmm...

Well, everything with Luke's daughter never would've happened in season six of Gilmore Girls, that's for sure.

3. Your most effective cure for writer's block?

Picking a prompt and just writing through it. It might be crap, but it's the only thing that always gets me through.

4. The best thing about where you live? Home of the Philly cheesesteak!

5. Who is the character you identify with most of any series? Lorelai Gilmore. I'm a crazy, sometimes selfish pop culture junkie with committment issues.

Weekend is upon me. woo-hoo. My sister and I watched one of the many episodes of 24 that we're behind on and I realized why we're behind. It's not just Heroes. This season is just not as great as the seasons before it overall. I mean, there are some really great and amazing episodes, but there is also a lot of pointless filler episodes that are taking place this season. And hey, I get it. It's season six. It's gotta be hard to keep it completely fresh, but yeah, I hope it gets much better again.

I managed to hold out and not download the rest of series one of Robin Hood. I'm being strong. But really, my friends, where is the fic? And the icons? And the address so that I can stalk meet Jonas?

**

[livejournal.com profile] iamentheos - did you ever get your dvds? I ask because I mailed [livejournal.com profile] wendy's stuff like two weeks after yours and she's got hers already. Makes me wonder.

And did I owe anyone else anything fannish? Sometimes I forget things and you have to poke me a bunch.

I'm going to continue to pimp the Het Fic Summer Prompt-a-Thon until y'all head over there and make some prompt requests. Even if you're not going to write, you must inspire me. Think Ugly Betty! Think Twilight book series. Think Michael/Maria of Roswell! And pass the pimpage on!

Oh, and I've decided to increase the time for the Supernatural Hug-a-Thon until the end of May. Because who knows, maybe y'all will be in the mood to write Sam and Dean hugging fic after the season finale (And I don't no any spoilers to base that on, I'm just guessing this off last year's finale!)
tommygirl: (books - the world)
In the game of Mare versus colon, colon is kicking my ass. I am home again today and the doctor is oh so useful. I'm seriously at the point where I've decided to try some homeopathic type things for this. It's just messing up my life horribly at the moment and is really no fun. I mean, as much as I complain about my sinuses, I can still pretty much function through it, but this is just awful.

And yes, I tell myself to stop whining, but I don't want to. I want hot Winchester boys to come and shoot rock salt at my doctors for not helping!

**

Speaking of Winchesters...Happy Supernatural Day! We're into the last of the season and I'm both excited and saddened, as I don't like not having new Winchester stories on my television.

There is also new Ugly Betty tonight! I haven't watched last week's episode yet as UB is one of the shows that I watch with my sister and she and I were working different schedules this week, making watching stuff together hard.

I am now completely caught up on what has aired of Robin Hood on the BBC America. I've told myself to just wait for Saturday nights, but a part of me just wants to download the remainder of the season. It's so good. Robin is hot. Marian is kick-ass. And it's just a fun, light show...sometimes I need that. Anyone know of any good Robin/Marian fic out there? Or even Robin gen fic? He really is pretty. I'm not feeling the slash for this show - not saying it couldn't happen, considering they're all merry men living in Sherwood Forrest, but I just like the canon of the Robin hood story.

I'm wondering if I should even bother to watch the episodes of Drive on my dvr that I haven't seen yet. On the one hand, it has Nathan Fillion. On the other hand, it's already been cancelled and why get attached. Stupid Fox. It never gives a show a chance to build an audience.

**

It's pretty sad when my fannish to-do list is getting as long as my real life lists. I'm working to get organized in hopes that it will free up time in the long run for the things that I love...but in the process of getting organized, things are currently falling to the wayside.

Now I think I will go reread Twilight and New Moon. My sister just finished re-reading them and she wants me to write her an Edward/Bella fic. So it's research. Hee.
tommygirl: (entourage - the boys)
The new Nathan Fillion show starts this evening. It looks pretty silly from the previews, but it's Nathan, so I'm recording it on my dvr. Not sure if I'll watch it this evening or not as I've gotten back into watching season one of NCIS. I do enjoy this show a ridiculous amount. The first few episodes weren't that great, but they slowly found their way and I love. Plus, I've had a crush on Mark Harmon since Summer School came out and he wore hawaiian shirts to teach in.

New Entourage tonight! Woo-hoo. Though really, does every show have to be on at 10pm on Sunday nights now - Entourage, Tudors, Brothers & Sisters...luckily, I get east/west coast channels and Tudors is shown twice in a row. (I watch too much television, you say, well, bah.)

**

I managed to get [livejournal.com profile] het_newsletter done early tonight. Woo-hoo. So yes, a little pimpage for good measure. If you love the het, be sure to friend the newsletter. And let any of the editors know about the surely numerous things we miss.

Also, only a few hours left to sign up for the feedback challenge that [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy and I are running. It's multifandom and it's just a nice, fairly easy challenge.

**

I'm not finished my [livejournal.com profile] batoutofkansas story yet, but I did start it. I got preoccupied by the Robin Hood marathon on BBC later this afternoon. I did get my remix story in with a few hours to spare! And Steph promises me that it did not suck, so that's a good sign.

Slowly, but surely, I will catch up on fannish stuff.
tommygirl: (lost - jack & sawyer)
It used to be that I was able to get caught up on livejournal, fic, and writing on the weekends, but lately my weekends are passing in a blur of craziness. I'm not sure what to make of that.

It started with going out drinking with some of my co-workers for our one friend's last day. And moved at lightening speed from there.

I took my little bit to see Meet the Robinsons in 3D. When I asked if she wanted the regular or 3D version, she rolled her eyes at me and said, "Tommy, 3D will be much more fun." How silly of me. Anyway, I loved it as much as she did. It's hysterical. And has a very nice message, especially about how the villain came to be a villain.

Then there was the boy and hanging with some friends and errands and watching the first three episodes of Robin Hood (finally!!!) and now it's Sunday night and my weekend is over. Bah. At least I have off for Good Friday this week and I'm tempted to put in for Easter Monday off as well. Hhhmmm...must decide on that one.

More interview questions, this time from [livejournal.com profile] pun because, as I said in her journal, I am an egomaniac.

More random information about me... )

**

Is Brothers & Sisters new this evening? I hope so. I miss new episodes of that show. Plus, it ended in a place where I want to see what happens next.

Still behind on 24 as I chose to start Robin Hood and got sucked in through the first three episodes. I knew this would happen. I have a love of the story of Robin Hood and I've always loved Marian because she was strong and opinionated and her whole life wasn't just about her love for Robin. And the show is just so entertaining and funny and Robin is HOT. And while I think my favorite Sheriff of Nottingham will always be Alan Rickman (Why a spoon, cousin?), I think the actor in the role on the show does a really good job of playing the character.

Also forced the boy to sit through the last few episodes of General Hospital, which was a mistake. He likes to point out how ridiculous the storylines are. Like I don't know that. I'm an addict. And there are cute boys! And it's just...I *know* how dumb some of the storylines are, but I still watch.

And honestly, he shouldn't be surprised. I loved Fastlane for god's sake.

**

Alrighty, I'm going to try to catch up on the friends list and catch up on comments. However, I think I'll probably end up watching some more episodes of Robin Hood.

Ciao.
