Interview Questions from [livejournal.com profile] medie

1. Your favorite guilty pleasure sometimes I like the bad "introduce new sister to canon" fic.

2. One thing you wish one of your shows had done better (I know *G I know, but try to restrain yourself)?

Only one thing...Hhhhmmm...

Well, everything with Luke's daughter never would've happened in season six of Gilmore Girls, that's for sure.

3. Your most effective cure for writer's block?

Picking a prompt and just writing through it. It might be crap, but it's the only thing that always gets me through.

4. The best thing about where you live? Home of the Philly cheesesteak!

5. Who is the character you identify with most of any series? Lorelai Gilmore. I'm a crazy, sometimes selfish pop culture junkie with committment issues.

Weekend is upon me. woo-hoo. My sister and I watched one of the many episodes of 24 that we're behind on and I realized why we're behind. It's not just Heroes. This season is just not as great as the seasons before it overall. I mean, there are some really great and amazing episodes, but there is also a lot of pointless filler episodes that are taking place this season. And hey, I get it. It's season six. It's gotta be hard to keep it completely fresh, but yeah, I hope it gets much better again.

I managed to hold out and not download the rest of series one of Robin Hood. I'm being strong. But really, my friends, where is the fic? And the icons? And the address so that I can stalk meet Jonas?

**

[livejournal.com profile] iamentheos - did you ever get your dvds? I ask because I mailed [livejournal.com profile] wendy's stuff like two weeks after yours and she's got hers already. Makes me wonder.

And did I owe anyone else anything fannish? Sometimes I forget things and you have to poke me a bunch.

**

I'm going to continue to pimp the Het Fic Summer Prompt-a-Thon until y'all head over there and make some prompt requests. Even if you're not going to write, you must inspire me. Think Ugly Betty! Think Twilight book series. Think Michael/Maria of Roswell! And pass the pimpage on!

Oh, and I've decided to increase the time for the Supernatural Hug-a-Thon until the end of May. Because who knows, maybe y'all will be in the mood to write Sam and Dean hugging fic after the season finale (And I don't no any spoilers to base that on, I'm just guessing this off last year's finale!)
tommygirl: (24 - jack)
Sorta snow day! We got to come into work an hour late this morning and the boss is buying those of us who showed up lunch and probably letting us leave early. Woo-hoo. This has the starts of an awesome Valentine's Day.

First, let's start with yesterday's Tuesday Ten because I forgot to post it then.

It's a day late, but not a dollar short... )

**

I didn't watch Gilmore Girls last night. Mostly because I love Lorelai/Christopher and I'm not sure my heart could've taken it, but also because my sister and I wanted to watch 24 and it's her "birthday week" so she gets her way.

Thoughts on the last two hours of 24... )

**

To everyone on my friends list (new friends and old): Happiest of Valentine's Days! I love you all. Each of you make me smile, laugh, and think in various ways throughout the year and my life is that much better for having y'all in it. ::huggles each of you::

Now I'm off to catch up on friends list and pretend to work hard on a snow day!

Ciao darlings!
tommygirl: (storydivagirl)
Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] jadekitten01!!! Have a fabulous day, darling!

**

Is it sad that I'm sitting here at my desk wearing my gloves because it's so damn cold? I really should've stayed in bed this morning.

**

I'm still behind on Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars, but my sister and I watched 24 last night...

Spoilers for this week's episode... )

**

I am both excited and scared for this coming week's Supernatural. I love those boys so much and seeing them hurting will kill me. Very, very sad.

Am very excited that both Bill Mahr and Entourage are returning to HBO with new episodes soon. Especially Entourage. I love that show so much, to the point that I may have worn out my dvds from repeated viewing.

**

I might try to write today if I can force myself to stay in the freezing cold office. I'm seriously debating leaving.

Ciao.
tommygirl: (jensen)
Happy Supernatural Day! I can't wait for tonight's episode, but I must admit, I'm really excited for Ugly Betty tonight. Because that ending from the last new episode - we need to know what the hell is going on!

But yes, in honor of Supernatural day my subconscious honored me with a wonderful dream involving Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, where we were all hanging out with a few of my friends. At the last minute we all decide to go the London for the night (like you can do that from Jersey), and Jensen comes up to me and is telling me how Jared wants to date me, where rather than getting annoyed (like I would in real life), I was all a flutter at the prospect. I also remember Jared forgot his passport, but apparently it didn't matter when they were letting him *into* England, but he was going to have trouble getting home - and Jensen and I (old buddies that we were) just exchanged looks like this was just the sort of thing Jared does.

Nice dream until the evil alarm went off.

My thoughts on Monday night's 24 )

And have I mentioned my excitement for tonight's Supernatural and Ugly Betty! Gah. I want this day over with so I can get to my television viewing. It's a sad life I lead, but it makes me happy.

**

It looks as though Sam/Dean are kicking ass in my poll in every category. They are the favorite tv brothers, the brothers most in love with one another (though Peter/Nathan continue to move in for that title with all the TOUCHING), and the brothers most likely to win a fight. Hee.

I have some pimpage coming up later as well as more friends love (I have not forgotten, just became sidetracked), but for now I'm going to try to catch up on the friends list.

Ciao darlings!
tommygirl: (heroes - petrelli brothers)
I'm feeling a lot better today, which is good considering I really don't want to miss another day of work and weep at the state of my desk when I return.

But being home sick did give me time to rewatch two of my favorite shows...

First there was Heroes... )

And then 24 broke my brain, but when doesn't it?

So yeah, uh... )

Other television:

Dresden Files was okay. I love the books a lot, so I knew it would be hard to live up to them, and I'm trying to make my peace with some of the small changes. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't the strongest start. I just hope it gets better because the guy is HOT.

the Class continues to be hysterical. I'm so not the normal CBS sitcom girl, but this show is crazy fun.

NCIS I'm at the end of season three and I love it so much. I'm a Tony girl, but I love them all. Such good stuff.

**

Ryan Gosling got nominated. He kicked ass in that role and that movie was so freaking good. I know he probably won't win, but it's just so cool that the academy acknowledged him with a nomination.

A little miffed that Dreamgirls didn't get a best movie nod. I loved that movie. It was so freaking good. Mostly I'm peeved that I have to see Babel, when I'm in my anti-Pitt mood. Tomorrow night I'm going to see Pan's Labryinth so that will take care of one of the many movies I still need to see.

Overall, there weren't a ton of surprises with the nominations, but Ryan Gosling just makes me so happy!

The Tuesday Ten:

1. How would you describe your High School self? Maybe there's a neat lil stereotype you fit in, maybe not, but tell me what you woulda put on your passport back then. Nerd. Cool Kid. Band geek. Drama student. etc etc(Me? I was no doubt a nerd to some, a rebel to others, never really the cool kid, never really the geek, just lil middle of the road Mel.)

There were two versions of me in high school. I was popular and bitchy and participated in everything for my first two and a half years. After that, I sorta became more comfortable in my own skin and realized that popularity wasn't worth having people you really couldn't count on as friends...so I mostly stuck with the drama squad after that. That said, my school was not the typical high school...the popular kids weren't the football players and the cheerleaders. In fact, we tended to mock the cheerleaders. We were more a school where the cool kids were smart and took part in government and theater.

2. Fave subject at school?

My law class was my favorite class. We took a trip to hear a Supreme Court case in DC. Very cool.

3. If you're done with school, think you'll ever go back? Study something else? If you're still at school of some sort, what are you studying now?

I want to get my masters/doctorate in either English Literature or Creative Writing.

4. Fave teacher?

Mrs. Mueller, my fifth grade teacher

5. Alternatively, worst teacher? My junior year English 3AP teacher. She was just...she based every grade she gave you on your very first paper. No matter what I did in her class, I could not get better than an 88...she was out to get me, I swear. And she was convinced, based on my emo creative writing, that I was mentally unstable and kept trying to get me to "talk" to her.

6. Which of your current fandoms really pwns your soul right now?

Supernatural! Heroes is a pretty close second though.

7. Which of your current fandoms are you not-so-much with the obsessive love right now, but you're not quite ready to let go?

Gilmore Girls. It still has it's good moments. And I do like Lorelai/Christopher, but it's nowhere near the par of earlier seasons.

8. Which two of your current fandoms would have the most fun getting together for some crossover action? Characters, actors, I dont mind which.

Supernatural & 24! Dean WInchester and Jack Bauer would be an awesome team! Terrorist are working with a group of demons...and only those two can save the world! (Feel free to write this for me - wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

9. Which guest character/actor/MOTW/etc etc would you most like to see pop up in your fave fandoms canon?

Adam Baldwin as a badass hunter on Supernatural!

10. If the world of your favourite fandom was real, what would your Mary-Sueing self get up to there?

Well, in Supernatural, I would totally be needing Sam and Dean's help because I lived in an evil demon house last year.

**

Alrighty, gonna watch GG and then probably get some sleep.

Ciao darlings!
tommygirl: (dexter - brothers)
These sudden shifts in weather have finally caught up with me, despite my best attempts at averting it with lots of vitamins. Now I have a stupid cold and I haven't really been out of bed today...sometimes laptops come in handy. So yeah, my procrastination combined with this illness means that my slashfest story is not done, so I will be banned from the next two rounds. Oh well. Sometimes these things happen.

Hopefully I feel better by tomorrow as I have a staff meeting tomorrow and I'm not sure it would be a good idea to miss it.

**

So I got caught up on Brothers & Sisters last night so that I'm ready for this week. I love every member of the Walker clan, though Kevin and Justin are my favorites. I mean, I even love Kitty, who is a Republican. And it's really weird having Rob Lowe, who will always be Sam Seaborne to me, playing a *republican* senator.

I also rewatched a bit of Heroes again to prepare for tomorrow night. WHEEEEE! Finally! More Heroes! More Nathan and Hiro and Peter and Claire and...hopefully some answers to questions and some brotherly love from Nathan. Love this show. I made a dvd of the episodes up until now and gave it to my co-worker, John, who is now hooked on the show too. Finally someone at work to talk about it with.

Then this morning when i couldn't sleep I watched this special on Jonestown on the History channel. So creepy. First, it freaks me out that so many people got sucked into his cult ways and did what he wanted, but what freaks me out more is that no one could leave, that they were basically prisoners, and when a congressman came to try to help them, the congressmen and those leaving were slaughtered and then Jones forced everyone to kill themselves, injecting those that wouldn't take the Kool-Aide willingly. Just so creepy.

Am very excited for all the new television this week aside from Heroes:

New 24! Dude, it's seriously...I love Supernatural more than anything, but 24 is probably the best show on television. Even though sometimes it gets my adrenaline going to the point that I can't sleep. It's just...awesome.

AND...new Digging for the Truth, which most people don't care about, but my sister and I are History channel nerds and I love it. Josh, the host, is sometimes borderline retarded, but he's hot and the show is interesting most of the time.

Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars are back as well, which almost makes up for the fact that Ugly Betty is a repeat after that ending.

**

Alrighty, I'm off to catch up on friends list before I fall asleep again.

Ciao darlings!
tommygirl: (dexter - play nice)
I keep forgetting that it's already Wednesday. The day off this week, while highly enjoyable, has me running a tad bit behind everywhere else. Frankly, I just want it to be Thursday night so we can get to more Supernatural and brotherly love. Because seriously, those boys...I'm just a tad bit obsessed (I know. I hide it well, but it's true).

So the second half of the 24 season six premiere was made of the awesome. Good god. I didn't expect two of the things to happen, especially not so soon. I really should've learned after last year that anything's possible from within the first few minutes.

**

I have not forgotten the rest of the love for the friends list. It's coming, y'all. I've just been busy and haven't been on the computer for non-work stuff much the past couple of weeks.

As always, know that I love y'all. You're faboo and fun and interesting.

**

The Tuesday Ten...a day late, but who cares? )

**

A little pimpage for y'all as I've been slacking:

-AU Prompt-a-thon - Multifandom - taking prompts until January 22nd with stories due by March 24th

-Supernatural Big Bang - Supernatural/J-Squared - sign ups by February first with stories (that are at least 20,000 words) due in draft form by May 1st.

-Idol Reflection - it's like [livejournal.com profile] ship_manifesto, but share why you love a specific character

-I've updated [livejournal.com profile] polyfandomrecs with 20 Supernatural Recs

-And [livejournal.com profile] moviefanfiction is there for all your movie fanfiction needs, whether to archive (yes please) or to read (be sure to leave feedback). Steph and I would love for it to become a sort of one-stop shop for movie fanfic...so if you wrote some over the holidays, feel free to post!

**

I'm trying to put aside time to get back to my writing. I'm hoping for at least 30 minutes for at least 4 out of 7 days toward writing something...lordy knows I have enough things going on that need attention. And [livejournal.com profile] larah33 and I have decided to do a collaboration Henry/Betty story for Ugly Betty of how they get together. We both like Henry a tad bit. We know nothing else about this - any ideas you guys want to share - except that it will be Henry/Betty getting into a relationship. Because HENRY!

And on that note, I'm gonna catch up on friends list and wish away the remainder of this day.
tommygirl: (24 - jack)
So 24 is off to another amazing start. I've seen the first four episodes of the season twice now (Much love for leaks of episodes!), but I'll only talk about the two that aired...

and that will be under a cut - with spoilers... )

**

I have been unable to catch up with fandom and all that's going on the past weeks. It's just insane and I'm not sure where my time is going exactly, but it's not to the fun of reading or writing fanfiction. Drats.

I'm really hoping things will slow down a bit and I can enjoy my fun once again.

Ciao darlings!
