tommygirl: (star trek - spock (prosper))
So I'm thinking the Star Trek reboot schmoop ficathon might be a go. I'm going to mull it over and maybe get something set up this weekend. I'm still trying to decide if I should limit it to slash (which, for this fandom, is my cup of tea) or open it up to be slash/het, as I also know the anguish of pairing het couples in certain fandoms and having trouble finding wonderful fic.

Of course, this means I will expect all of you to pimp like mad for me if I do it, like a crazy person.

But really, I just want to force someone to write me sickeningly sweet making breakfast fic. Yes, I'm just that demented.

Also on Star Trek reboot, is there a newsletter for it? I'm a newsletter uber fan. They are usually my gateway to all that goes on in fandom as I'm all over the place otherwise. And crying a lot. And then Steph gets text messages where I lament to her.

Now I shall go read and fall asleep after a long, crazy day at work. I am reading Russell Brand's memoir because I love him. I saw his comedy special about a month ago and is there anyone who doesn't appreciate him in Forgetting Sarah Marshall? Especially with his music video cue cards? Hee. That said, I did pick up book for of the Cal Leandros series and started reading it again. What can I say? I'm a sucker for very close siblings, especially brothers, who grow up alone and take care of each other no matter what.

So holiday challenges will be getting underway soon and my mind is always spinning with ideas that I probably should ignore (but never do). So two polls are listed below for interesting in a second year of [livejournal.com profile] sn_holidays and maybe doing a swimslash challenge (maybe for holidays?).

Please pimp this out to anyone you think would be interested in either.

Interest for Sports Night Holiday Exchange... )

I'm hoping to get back to interacting on livejournal and in fandom now that the move is over. There is still a ton of unpacking to do, but things aren't quite as crazy as they've been the past few weeks. And I really need to get back to writing more often than I currently do.

Latest Musical Obsession: Duffy. The girl, not the guy. She's awesome. Itunes had her one song "Mercy" as the song of the week...and it was actually good (which surprised me as lately the Itunes songs of the week have been crap). And it got stuck in my head. And on amazon it showed she had a CD, but it wasn't available on Itunes, so I had to go about *other* methods of obtaining it. Highly recommend.

Also, I had an idea for a fic challenge based on a Regina Spektor song that I want to do. It would be low pressure, but there is already so many challenges going on that I think I might sit on it for a bit. Mostly, I'd feel horrible if I couldn't finish a story for my own challenge. Wouldn't that be grand?

I picked up the new Rob Thurman book! More Cal and Niko! My love for brothers fighting the supernatural knows no bounds and these books are wonderful. And I just love Cal. I never fail to adore the smartasses. I'll be interested to see how the characters further develop, but mostly I just want my brothers fighting supernatural and always having each other's backs. Because that is my great love. It goes back to discovering The Outsiders by SE Hinton when I was ten. Darry, Soda, and Pony broke me forever.

So usually the only thing that I crosspost from my livejournal is fic, but I wanted to open this idea up to as many people as possible.

One of the challenge ideas that I've had recently...since we will soon be out of new Supernatural (::cries::), I was thinking about rewatching the episodes, but then I was thinking how much I sometimes love to read people's snarky commentaries, even when (especially when) I adore the canon. So I was wondering if people would be interested in a community where people sign up for an episode of Supernatural and watch it/do commentary in the style of Mystery Science Theater.

[Poll #967]

Happy Friday everyone! It's miserable here, pouring down rain, which makes everyone suddenly forget how to drive. I'll never understand why that happens. Rain is not a new thing in New Jersey.

I want to thank you all for the lovely words in the love meme of the last post. I was having a crappy day and that just brightened things up. If I was capable of displaying emotion, I might've cried. Thank you. I love you all a whole lot and I'm so glad to have you all in my life in this online world. Please know that if any of you ever need anything, I'm here.

So let's talk about our very pretty boys who pout and make bitch faces and just love each other as much as we love them.

Spoilers for last night's supernatural...if you read this, you'll know things that happen... )

So I have two ideas for challenge-type things running through my brain at the moment. I might post about them today to gauge interest. ONe is a writing challenge, but the other is something I think anyone could have fun with. So here's to hoping.

In the meantime, I shall try to catch up on friends list, wish my headache away, and do the pile of work I have waiting for me.
