tommygirl: (wonderfalls - wax lion)
 Dear creator,

I hope all is well with you.  First off, Thank you for writing this lovely, fluffy piece for me.  I know I'll enjoy it and one can never go wrong with fluffy goodness.

Please take as little or as much of this as you want into consideration. I know some writers like a lot of information to work with (like myself) and others can find it to hinder their creative processes. This letter is to provide some ideas and help, but as I love these fandoms and characters, I'd honestly be pleased with almost anything.

Things in fic I love:
hurt/comfort (with happy endings), schmoop, happy endings, domestic fic, jealousy/possessiveness (without going over into uber creepy territory), banter, crossovers (as long as I know the fandoms), close familial units, awesome besties/partners that have each other’s backs, cuddles, fun, angst if it ends happily and lots and lots of banter.

Things in fic I dislike:
Please no rape/noncon/dubcon/child-animal harm pieces for me. It’s not my cup of tea. I don’t mind angst, but I’d like it to be somewhat sorted out and for my characters to have a chance at happy endings.

My feelings on AUs
 – I enjoy a great genderbend. I do enjoy crossovers that make sense and don't turn all the characters OOC. I like some of the other AUs out there (Soulmates - totally on board;  space operas if it's a show not in space?  not so much), but it's not my go-to for stories if I'm searching for things to read.

Overall, I like the characters to be true to who they are in whatever story they end up in. If you give me that, I'll love whatever you written (again, as long as it doesn't go into the rape/noncon/dubcon/harm world. I just can't read that stuff.)

So my specific requests:

MCU - Steve/Bucky, Steve/Tony, Steve/Sam, Steve/Peter Quill, Steve/Loki, Steve/Thor, Steve/Matt Murdock, Matt Murdock/Foggy Nelson, Matt/Murdock/Frank Castle, Peter Parker & Tony Stark

-So basically, I love Steve Rogers.  I'm a huge Steve/Bucky, but I really do enjoy reading him with different pairings as they all are quite interesting and have different dynamics to them.  Since it's more fluffy, it's up to the writer how to deal with Avengers Infinity Wars - fix-it, ignore it, go into the past or the future...I'm up for whatever.  I just want Steve Rogers happy.  If you want to a prompt to work with - a happy Christmas for Steve in the future is all he's wanted since he woke up in a new world.

-I've watched the latest season of DareDevil and loved it all.  I love Matt/Foggy and Matt/Frank appeals to me too.  I'd love to see some happy reuniting fic after thinking Matt was dead and then dealing with Fisk and that mess.

-For Peter and Tony...I love their father/son relationship.  You can actually make them father/son or it can just be the relationship that they develop.  Just some domestic type stuff - like Tony insisting they do non-superhero stuff together.

DC extended universe - Barry/Arthur, Barry/Oliver, Barry/Clark, Barry/Victor, Diana/Steve Trevor

-Again, like Steve Rogers, I love Barry Allen.  He's adorable and nerdy and can put his foot in his mouth, but he means well and cares about people.  And for the pairings I chose, I think they're all interesting in there own ways  because Barry is this softy type who can worm his way into people's lives.  I'd love to see a fic where the pairing match for Barry goes with him to meet his Dad...all the while Barry tries to act like "of course that would happen"

-Diana/Steve - I loved their relationship in the movie and I'd love anything that gives them some time to just be all lovey and domestic.

The Losers - Jake/Cougar, Jake & Cougar

Jake/Cougar - best friends/partners-in-crimes/soulmates.  I love the two of them.  They're a case of opposites that work well together.  I love protective Cougar, even though he never doubts Jake can take care of himself.  I love Jake that is smarter than people give him credit for.  I love jealous Cougar and a Jake who wears his heart on his sleeve.  Really, I just love the two of them.  If you want a specific prompt - they spend the holidays with Jake's family.

Stranger Things - Jonathan Byers & Will Beyers;  Will Byers & Mike Wheeler

I love the relationship Jonathan and Will have.  Jonathan is a great big brother and it's obvious how much he loves Will and wants to protect him.  I can almost see Jonathan being super overprotective after season two, but not wanting Will to freak out...so he comes up with all these additional reasons for them to hang out.  Road trip for a concert.

Will and Mike's friendship is another thing that I adore with this show and we really got to see it explored more in season two.  They've both been through a lot separately and I'd love to see fic that's them supporting each other through it.

Crossover Fandoms - Steve Rogers (MCU)/Arthur Curry (DC Extended Universe), Jake Jensen (The Losers)/Tony Stark (MCU), Diana (Wonder Woman)/Steve Rogers (MCU), Jake Jensen (The Losers) & Tony Stark (MCU), James "Bucky" Barnes (MCU)/Jacob Jensen (Losers)

Steve Rogers/Arthur Curry - They would just be so pretty together.  Yes, I'm just that shallow.  Think about all the creative ways that Arthur helps Steve get over his issues with the water.

Diana (wonder woman)/Steve Rogers - They're both stronger than most, both carry these legends and weights on their shoulders, even when they don't want it.  And both have battled with their feelings about how best to help people.  I'd love just an established relationship, happy moment for them, where they get some quiet time bewteen world crises.

Jake Jensen/Tony Stark - They're both geniuses with no filter.  I put both as a pairing and as gen for them because they both have such potential.  Tony could use another best friend completely in his corner and Jake deserves to have someone to talk all his tech geek stuff with.  And if Jake has an uncanny resemblance for a supersoldier, that's whatever you want.

Jake Jensen/Bucky Barnes - Because, again, Jake has an uncanny resemblance to a super soldier, but that's about where the similarities end.  Could be when Bucky is on the run...maybe he saved Jake from one of Max's goons and Jake is this loyal puppy type once someone matters to him...Bucky's never getting rid of him now.

So yeah.  I hope this helps and doesn't cause more issues.  I'm really up for anything.  I love fluff.  It makes me happy.

I got my assignment for the [community profile] ante_up_losers Fanworks Exchange and realized I should go write my Dear Creator letter that just had a placeholder. I figured I've read enough fic in this world that maybe it's time to try my hand at it. Also, since I'm trying to complete the 75,000 words this year, I figure having projects with deadlines might help me along with that.   Love some of the prompts I saw on the Dear Creator letter for my recipient so that's good.

I also got my picture for [livejournal.com profile] picfor1000 and excited to write that.  Just need to pic my fandom - what am I feeling everyone?  Ideas?

I went to see Star Wars again with my sister the other day and I still quite enjoy it. That is all I shall say in case people still haven't seen it. Even when we went the other day the theater was still packed.

I also finished Making a Murderer on Netflix because my co-worker kept yelling at me to watch it since I love the Serial podcast. I really shouldn't have watched it because it just made me angry about some of the crap that went down.

thoughts on Making a Murderer - spoilers? )

**

Oscar nominations are out and I've seen four of the eight already:  Martian (loved), Spotlight (good but depressing as hell), Mad Max (I was so confused - I had never seen any of the other Mad Max movies and my friend insisted I see and Tom Hardy, so sure...but I spent the first half of the movie going "what is going on?"), and the Big Short (I had read the book and the movie does a good job of sort of breaking down the whole thing - it's just depressing because nothing has changed).

I still need to see The Revenant, Room, Brooklyn and Bridge of Spies.

**

Finally caught back up on Arrow - I forced myself to do it before I could watch the crossover Flash episode so I wouldn't be confused...so I'm caught up on both of those now.  Still behind on Empire and Gotham.   And just waiting (impatiently) for Walking Dead to return.

Currently in my Netflix/Amazon streaming I've been rewatching Stargate Atlantis with the goal to actually make it through the end of season four and five, which I had never finished.  And then I plan to move onto Supernatural.  Last episode I saw was the premiere of Season Eight.   Considering how much I used to love that show, it's kinda sad that I can't always muster up the urge to go back.  But I'm hoping once I do, I'll get sucked in and get through it.  Last time around I had stopped watching at start of season six and then finally decided before season eight to try to get caught up...ended up zipping through the episodes.

Okay, back to work to get done.  Feeling very sore from my workout this morning and contemplating what to do for lunch because I didn't bring anything and this way leads to madness.  I might just run to Whole Foods and grab something.

I meant to have this in the other post, but I got quite long winded...

It's not too late to come play:

Free-for-All Master Post

I copy/pasted a bunch of different fic requests into a word document, so that I can see what I can accomplish on my lunch break. I've gotten a few really great things that I made me smile, so I want to return the love and give someone else a smile.

Friends: Feel free to leave me links to your lists, as I'd love to see if there is anything I can do.

And if you're interested, my requests link is here

Title: The Crash
Author: Tommygirl/[insanejournal.com profile] storydivagirl
Rating: PG
Written For: Crossover challenge on request of Alias/Lost--Weiss MUST be a main character
A/N: This was much more difficult to write than I expected and it's very open-ended because the ideas started to flow...so there may be sequels someday. Much love to my girl Steph for the beta work and the promise that it's not bad at all. Feedback always appreciated.

Alias meets Lost in a very painful way. )

No matter how old you get, sometimes all a person really needs is a hug from her mommy. I'm having a day of it and I'm not sure why. So my mom offered me a hug and while I'm not completely "yay life" now, I'm feeling a tad bit better. Like maybe I can accomplish something.

Plus, it doesn't hurt that my mother offered to do my towels tomorrow. Yay for getting out of laundry.

**

I might be working on *another* prompt community...this one involving a bunch of tables of lyrics from songs. And maybe putting together zip files of the music in case someone needs it. Because when I feel like my writing sucks, nothing says "PROCRASTINATE" like making a new community.

I set up an account at inksome as tommygirl. So if you're over there too, feel free to friend me.

Title: The Big Bad Wolf...
Author: Tommygirl/[insanejournal.com profile] tommygirl
Rating: R
Pairing: Sam/Dean
Spoilers: None.
Summary: Sam and Dean saved the girl and now Sam's jealous of the girl.
Written For: This was written for the supernatural picture prompt challenge based on this picture.
A/N: Much love to [insanejournal.com profile] roniabirk and Steph who worked with me to make this readable and hopefully enjoyable. If anything is still wrong, don't blame them, but rather Sam Winchester, who was giving me trouble throughout the writing of this story. It's schmoop with a jealous Sam because, well, I love those two things. So enjoy and feedback is always appreciated!

Me writing Wincest porn nearly caused Steph to go into shock! Look what this fandom has done to me. I used to be pure...er... )

1) Work was busy today. We're getting a new plotter for better mapping and stuff, but it became a big ordeal with the delivery and oh the fun.

2) Supernatural Crossover Challenge sign-ups are running until June 29th. Write a story, get a story! Fun times to be had! Lots of great crossover fic to be produced.

3) So over at insane journal, [livejournal.com profile] ladybug218 started a muse community and with her patience and Yoda-like explanations, I have undertaking writing for Dean Winchester. It's freaking *addictive*, my friends. And it might be Dean's goal to hook up with all the pretty ladies at some point.

4) Yeah, I know I didn't need to take that on what with the billion things to do. I came up with the title for my [livejournal.com profile] schmoopfest Sam/Dean story though, so that should let me off the hook. Now I just have to write it.

5) I just finished Secrets of My Hollywood Life by Jen Calonita and now I want the sequel, but my library doesn't have it. ::cries:: The first book was an enjoyable quick read. I've never outgrown my love of young adult books.

6) No, really, my friends, go sign up for the Supernatural Crossover Challenge. Or pimp it. Or if that's not your cup of tea, check out [livejournal.com profile] schmoopfest - there are still plenty of prompts available.

7) Does one know if there are Prince Harry and Prince William icons? And if so, where can they be found? I watched their Dateline interview and I may love them more than I used to. And I already loved them a great deal. According to [livejournal.com profile] larah33, I love lots of boys though, so this is nothing new.

8) I'm starting to get excited about [livejournal.com profile] winchestercon! This is totally my first con ever and I'm doing it with my other half, [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy. And I'm looking forward to getting to meet some of y'all a whole lot!

Warnings: Spoilers through series finale
A/N: Much love to [livejournal.com profile] iamentheos for the beta! Sorry for the delay and I hope this fits the bill...my muse went in a different direction than I originally planned. Feedback always appreciated.

Hey y'all...just a quick update to assure everyone that I'm alive and kicking. Been incredibly busy and therefore am way behind on friends list. So if there is anything I need to know or really good fic that I'd miss, hook a sister up. Otherwise, I apologize for not responding to comments or reading. Bad Tommy, bad!

Hopefully after this week and the completion of the [livejournal.com profile] wip_it_good competition, I shall be available once again. At least, I'm hoping.

In the meantime, I shall leave you with a huge squee about how much I love Entourage and, if you're not watching it, why is that? And don't forget, my fabulous American friends, that Sci Fi is showing Firefly every Friday night to lead up to the movie!

Okay, off to attempt to read as much of the friends list as I can before getting pulled back to tons of work.

Love you all and ciao!
tommygirl: (roswell)
Have spent a large portion of my morning working on the WIP piece. I'm doing pretty damn good these past two days! Woo-hoo. Now the idea is to keep up the pace so that I can get through this damn story. You see, I'm at the part in New Journey where things are starting to be revealed in the plot and Maria has to deal with what's going to happen. So it's an important scene and I just hope I'm doing it justice.

But yesterday after suffering for the first hour, I decided to just go with the flow and worry about everything else in the revision process. That seems to be working much better for me. And I'm kicking some butt.

Now let me keep it up. I asked my fellow pals at [livejournal.com profile] wip_a_team for good mojo and they obliged. So yeah. Fingers crossed for me.

I've also decided to wait until I finish A New Journey in its entirety before posting another chapter. This way the remaining chapters will go up at once and I can do any necessary revision to the early chapters at the same time. But y'all will have it to read ([livejournal.com profile] chickpea!!!) by the end of July!

Also, is it sad that I made myself a progress spreadsheet today for the [livejournal.com profile] wip_it_good challenge? I used one for April Fool's day challenge and it seemed to work and keep me on track - I'm hoping the same works here.

**

In other news, I'm addicted to Dr. Who. I'm only up to episode four, but it sucked me right in. Oh, evilness! So who knows where I can find some good icons? And then some good fic? Help a Tommy out here, people.

I'm caught up on my Queer As Folk and Entourage as well. I love Entourage so much. Hug it out, bitches! It's the best. As for QAF, the characters are all pissing me off this season so I don't get as excited about it...and I don't like the way people were treating Hunter. Bastards. But Brian is still the hottest man alive. So hot. Gah.

I tivo'd the first two parts of Into the West but haven't had a chance to watch them yet. I wonder how I lived before I had a Tivo. I probably watched a lot less television because I'm so lazy when it comes to taping most things. But I love my Tivo. And I love that it knows me so well and records things that it thinks I'll like because of who's in it.

**

I'm going to head off for now. I want to get more writing done before my class tonight. I'm hoping to make a lot of progress on the WIP as quickly as possible because I have a few ficathon deadlines for July too. And while those are only required 1000 word stories...I'm a verbose sort of writer. My stories are usually not that short.

Have a great day, y'all!

Ciao.
