It's Wednesday, supposedly the hump day of the week, but things are going so damn slow that I'm not sure I buy it.

But tomorrow...tomorrow we have new Supernatural! I cling to the good things, like Sam and Dean.

That Supernatural survey... )

**

Next up is the Tuesday Ten - yes, I'm a day late as usual.

Were you expecting me to do this on time? I laugh at you! )

**

Final survey for the day, I swear! The Buffy 10 years one... )

**

Some pimpage:

-I'm participating in the Sweet Charity with the offer of two stories written in April for the winner. And there are a TON of great writers/vidders/graphic makers offering up their services, with bidding starting tomorrow (March 15th) and all money raised goes to RAINN. Great fannish fun for a great cause!

-Prompts are up for claiming for the black donnellys saint patty's day challenge.

-Prompts for claiming at the Some Family - Petrelli's Writing Challenge. There are a mix of gen, het, slash, and threesomes to choose from.

-Supernatural Family Secrets Challenge is taking prompts until March 19th

-Psych Out & About, a fiction and art crossover challenge - Take Psych fandom and cross it with another. Stories due June 30th. That's plenty of time, people, and it means fun Psych fic. And how fun would it be if Sam (from SPN) thinks he needs to save Shawn because he's another psychic like him?

I love how so much of my friends list has started writing tons of Firefly fic. It makes me incredibly happy for I've loved this show for so damn long, and I love finding like-minded folk out there. Suddenly, I don't seem so strange in the long haul.

It did get me to thinking quite a bit though about ships and such within the firefly fandom. Because I don't really have a ship for the show, aside from the canon of Wash/Zoe, and even then, if there is some pre-show Mal/Zoe fic that's good and really gets that tricky element to their relationship, then I'll read it.

So yeah, no real ship. I do have a fondness for Kaylee and Jayne, not necessarily together, but fics that center on them. I love the idea of Mal and Kaylee together, but I just as much love fic that focuses on the almost-siblingesque bond between the two of them.

Basically, I will read anything aside from Simon/River (and I'll admit that you might even get me on that if it's really dark and fucked up and amazingly well-written) and does anyone actually care about Book in fanon?

And this got me to thinking even more, because that's so unlike me to be such a multi-shipper within one fandom. In canon, I might like more than one pairing and watch/read it, but in fandom with my fanfiction, I tend to find a niche and stick with it. Don't know why that is necessarily, but that's how has always worked in the past (i.e. - For Roswell, it was and always will be about Michael/Maria. No other pairing interests me at all, really.) And that's not so much the case with this show. I might read a Jayne/River fic and then follow it up with a Jayne/Kaylee fic.

The only thing I can conclude is that this is one of those shows where I love all the characters so much and I love the interaction amongst all of them. It doesn't seem unbelievable to me that Jayne, in his own brute fashion, could care about any member of the crew on that ship because there is canon to support it.

And maybe that's what makes this show mean so damn much to me and so many other people...because there isn't just love for each character, but the characters as a group and the care every character seems to have for the other.

So, I turn this over to you, my wonderful friends list. Do you find the same is true of you - that you can ship almost anyone on this show? Why do you think that is? I'm honestly curious.

It's been a long couple of days. Have seen Serenity and I'm still trying to process the whole experience (aside from the getting lost on the way there because Mapquest sucks!). I'll do a review of it once I feel more coherent. All I will say now is that you should go see the movie when it opens - if you haven't watched the show, you don't have to worry. It makes sense as a movie. If you loved the show, you will adore it and run the emotional gamut throughout.

Otherwise this weekend my plans were to do some writing - that didn't happen. Instead I went to see Batman Begins with hot boys - Christian Bale and Cillian Murphy in the same movie...hotness! I watched a few movies that my sister and I had rented and then pulled out the Firefly dvds because I have an addiction.

Anyway, I have a lot of writing to get done this week. A lot. I don't know why I procrastinate so much with things like this. I tell myself that I won't any longer, but I always do. It's just...it's as though my brain and creativity can't function with a lot of time to spare. Or so I tell myself.

I was tagged for this meme!

Directions: List 10 celebrities that you find attractive and then tag 5 of your friends. (Not in order.)

1. Brad Pitt - It's an obsession I've had since he was on Growing Pains, an illness!
2. JC Chasez - since MMC, man. Though sometimes his hair makes me reconsider...
3. Christian Bale - he's a *newsie* for god's sake. Sure, he's a bit intense and weird, but hot...and the accent? Holy moses!
4. Orlando Bloom - so pretty! He's just so damn pretty! And he gets my muses going - right [livejournal.com profile] nowastedspace?
5. Keifer Sutherland - the voice! Though I'm the first to admit, I love Jack Bauer much more than Keifer himself...but he's so shy and adorable in interviews. Shoebox!
6. Ben Browder - oh lordy. the eyes, the smile, the voice...the everything.
7. Iaon Gruffud - because I develop crushes early on, I saw him in Titanic and wished he had more of a part and then Horatio Hornblower did me in! So pretty!
8. Clive Owen - God, do I need to explain this to anyone?
9. Drew Fuller - because he made me love Charmed again and he's just hot!
10. Jake Gyllenhaal - another one [livejournal.com profile] nowastedspace understands for the muse alone! Oh so hot!

I feel wrong limiting it to ten like this. I mean, what about Michael Phelps? Or Ryan Gosling? Or Matt Damon?

Gah, how can one girl choose? I plan to have them all around me, fanning me with oversized feathers, when I rule the world (like you do).

[livejournal.com profile] dragonsinger wanted to know what stories in our various fandoms we would like to see. She says that she's a picky reader - well, if she is, I don't want to know what I am. I like to think it's because of time constraints and that due to my lack of time, I tend to stick with the authors I know or give stories only so long to pull me in. I must admit though that a part of it is definitely my own issues with what I consider bad characterization and/or bad grammar kills me. Kills me dead!

Anyway, Below is my list of fics I would like to see more of! )

**

Okay, I'm off to attempt some writing or formulation of thoughts I've had on a few small entries. Wish me luck.

Ciao.

Tonight I see Serenity! Woo-hoo! I can't wait! I'm trying to make this day at work go as fast as possible, but I appear to be failing miserably. I just want it to be 10pm already!

I think there should be some sort of multifandom alert system where those who constantly pull out of ficathons have their names listed. Because I see a few people signing up for ficathons that I'm participating in and I dread the idea of them getting me - because I've witnessed in other challenges how they just never did their story or moderators can't reach them any longer.

I realize that real life occasionally happens and the once-in-a-blue-moon need to pull out of a ficathon at the last minute might occur. But some of these people seem to constantly do it - and they end up with stories while their recipients have to wait.

It annoys me. But i'm far to lazy to take on a challenge like making a community for something of that nature.

Basically: before you sign up for a ficathon, make sure you can actually do the story by the deadline. Not after. Not never. On the due date. We all know what we can handle and not handle. There are ficathons I would love to participate in, but I just don't have the time - so I don't partake. It's not that bloody hard.

{/end rant}

Tuesday and Wednesday were not as productive on A New Journey as the prior couple of days, but I did finish up chapter nine and got about 1000 words of chapter ten done. Overall, I have a nice word count since Sunday - now I just have to keep it up. I will finish this story soon. I will finish this story soon. I'd love to really focus on it this weekend and maybe get the rest done (if Michael and Maria cooperate) because I have ficathon deadlines approaching in July and I'd like to concentrate on them without any guilt. Plus, I think all the readers would like it if I updated Trouble In My Head before the next millenia.

So wish me luck. Keep sending me good writing vibes.

And have I mentioned I'm seeing Serenity today? Gah! I'm so excited. I love Firefly beyond what would be considered normal. oh Mal...and Jayne...and Kaylee...and River...and Simon...

**

[livejournal.com profile] ladybug218 tagged me for the OTP meme, but that will have to wait until tomorrow evening when I have time to find pictures of my OTPs. But I'll do it. I promise.

And on that note, I shall bid you all adieu. I have some actual work to do and then some writing to accomplish.

Have a great day!

Ciao.

I got Serenity tickets for Philadelphia! Woo-hoo! Yay! I can't wait to see this movie and last time around the screening sold out so damn quick - but much thanks to [livejournal.com profile] roniabirk and I was ready with the link. Just kept refreshing the page until I saw the blue that meant the tickets were on sale.

So now question for those that went the last time - what time did you get to the theater? I know it starts at ten, but my sister and I don't want the crapola seats. So help a Tommygirl out.

Oh, and if you're going to the Philly showing let me know and we can try to meet up!

::joins in the squee::

The Serenity trailer rocked my socks. I'm dying of allergies, but that amused me a great deal - it doesn't hurt that I've been rewatching my dvds the past few days. God, I loved this show and still have a hate on stupid fox for putting it in the timeslot of doom and frelling with it.

It was just...the goodness.

So if you haven't watched the show yet, go rent it! Seriously, trust your tommy! You won't regret it! It's full of snark, hot boys, action, and craziness. That way you'll be ready for the movie too!

Busy day at work. That's what happens when you miss a day though, especially a Monday. So I spent most of the day playing catch-up and hoping that nothing came up that required immediate attention.

But it made the day go unusually quick for a Tuesday and now it's almost time for Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars and sleep is a calling me after having very weird dreams that I don't think I can explain without someone rushing to get the white coats sent my way.

**

I've fallen a little behind on my word count. I'm at 24,500 at the moment. I still have a few days to make it to 28,000 though. So keep your fingers crossed for me. And I've really got to figure out how to write this Princess Bride ficlet reward piece before it kills me!
